Chapter 7 Song: Alex Clare – Relax My Beloved ... Rayna's Point Of View ... The click of my heels always made me feel more confident, especially when everyone was silent and the room was filled to the brim with a thick cloud of fear. It made me feel empowered. "Emilio, can you tell me what happens to someone who screws up?" I asked and turned to him. "They are forgiven." He smiled viciously. A sigh of relief was released as the man felt hope. "That's right, they're forgiven." I said as my men backed away from the man who now stood in the middle. "I forgive you." I smiled then launched my fist upon his throat and continued the violent act of forgiveness until the man was in awe and at peace with his mind... body... soul... "Clean up this mess and dump him somewhere." I ordered as I cleaned my hands from the life stained on it. "Another act of forgiveness I take it..." A voice arose from the darkness of the night. A voice I knew all too well. "Kol, what brings you here?" I asked him as he walked into the light. "Well, not good news..." ... "What the f**k do you mean all sales have stopped in the east side? That's our safest market area." I spat, waving my gun around like a mad woman. A mad woman I certainly was. "Our drop off area has been compromised, seven of our guys dead, torn to pieces. Locals think it's an animal attack but an animal only targeting our men, I think not." Kol explained to me. "Shoot first and then ask questions later. I want you out taking care of this. Get more me if you have to and go hunting for these...animals. I do need a new coat." I grinned and sat back. ... "Hey." Rayna grinned at him as he arrived at the restaurant. "Hey, sorry I'm late. Danny was a bit upset." He explained to her as he took a seat beside her and placed a loving kiss upon her cheek. "It's okay. Is she okay?" Rayna said and asked him while Tate nodded in reassurance. "Yeah, she just needed to understand something. Did you order?" He asked her. "Um No. I was waiting for you." she answered him. "Thanks for waiting, I'll just call the waiter." And as they went through the mundane act of ordering food Rayna couldn't help but admire him. The way he spoke, the way he moved to his words, the way he looked at her when he thought she wasn't aware. The way he handled her with such care. It made her feel special. "So how was your week so far?" he asked her with a smile, egger to know about it. "Profitable and yours?" she asked as she didn't want to really get into her work especially in front of him when she knew she couldn't lie to him. He was different from other guys, that much was obvious. "Educational." Tate chuckled and leaned closer. "I missed you." he continued. "I missed you too." Rayna confessed as if it were her darkest secret. "I'm glad." Tate grinned and caressed her shoulder. "Why?" Rayna asked him. "Because it means you feel this too." Tate leaned forward, closer to her, their breath dancing together. "Trust me, I feel it too." Rayna said suddenly breathless and leaned even closer. Their faces so close. Their lips inches apart awaiting a welcome from one another. And soon they went closer and closer. "Here's two Chicken parmesan and our finest red wine, 1843." The waiter arrived interrupting their moment. "Um, so yeah." Tate cleared his throat while Rayna took a sip of her wine. "Um, so I remember you were talking about your family business?" Rayna asked him and leaned back to her original position. Tate shuffled uncomfortably because he knew that he couldn't go to much in detail with the pack being hidden behind the scenes of the business "Oh, yeah. It's nothing special, just an old money sort of business." Tate lied. To shifters a pack was like a family but to the non shifter packs were seen as businesses, small towns and so forth. "Oh, what is the name of the business and what is it about?" Rayna asked her interest peaked. "The name is Jameson corp. It's investment mainly but we are also in real-estate for our area.." Tate explained as rehearsed. Rayna nodded as new ideas started going through her mind. "Which area?" Rayna queried. "Hazelmere Valley, why?" Tate asked as he was confused with her sudden interest. "Oh no reason. I just see an opportunity for a business partnership. I'm looking a wide open space." Rayna said with a smile as she didn't want to tell him too much. "I'll see what I can do." Tate said as he was eager to please her. Rayna gave a pleased smile and they continued their romancing. ... "Well, I've taken care of the pause in the east side's market." Rayna smiled and turned her chair to watch the club in its peak with its rich individuals to the rebels who are trying to break free of their parents control. "And how have you done that?" Anne asked finally voiced the question that both she and Emilio were thinking. "Well Tate has a real-estate business and may have an open space that he could make available for us." Rayna said with a sly smile. "Well I guess he does have some uses after all." Emilio retorted with a snort. "Is that all the reason why you're with him or is there more to it." Anne asked with a grin, the only person who didn't want Rayna with Decarro and who always encouraged her to be in a relationship with someone for reasons other than work. "Yeah, I think he might be the one." Rayna said slyly and turned away from them. To her she might actually be the one.
