Chapter 9
Song: G-eazy – Summer in December
"Are you sure this is a good idea, I mean we've only been dating for a couple of weeks..." Rayna asked Tate as he led them through the house.
"I'm sure. I want them to know you." Tate chuckled and placed a kiss upon her head.
"But what if they don't like me." Rayna asked as for the first time she genuinely felt nervous. This was the first guy she had actual feelings for.
"They will love you." Tate smiled and placed another kiss on her head.
"Everyone..." Tate spoke. His voice demanded attention.
"...this is Rayna." He introduced her to the room of awaiting family.
Immediately the room was filled smiles and cat calls courtesy of Dylan while colt let a loud 'Finally'.
"Hi, my name is Colt short for Colton. I thought you were fake..." Colt said to her and gave a charming smile as if he had not heard himself.
"Err I'm pretty sure I'm real..." Rayna let out a small laugh of amusement. In her eyes he was just a child, not more than ten years.
"My brother doesn't shut up about you." Colt continued and then walked back to his chair.
Rayna turned to Tate with a raised eyebrow, "Really?" She asked and smiled at him.
"What? Cant I talk about my beautiful girlfriend?" Tate grinned and pecked her lips.
"Rayna!" Danny appeared and hugged her brother's mate and grinned. She was so happy to see the dark haired beauty again.
"Danny, how are you?" Rayna greeted and smiled fondly at the younger girl.
"I'm good and you?" Danny asked.
"I'm good. Are you still with that girl, what was her name?" Rayna trailed off.
"Ginny and no." Danny said and put a lock of hair behind her ear.
"Well I'm glad. Maybe you could get friends that don't take you to clubs." Rayna said softly. Both of them talking and completely forgetting about Tate's presences.
"But then you'd be out of business." Danny retorted.
"Touché." Rayna laughed.
"Wait so ginny took you to the club?" Tate asked.
"Yeah but that's in the past now. Right Danny." Ray laughed and took Tate away.
"Okay, let me introduce you to my best friends. Ray this is Edward and Dylan." Tate introduced.
"Hi, nice to meet you." Rayna smiled at the two openly stared and looked her up and down.
"Dude, she's too hot for you." Dylan said.
'Right high school boys' Rayna thought as she just stood and smile.
"Ignore them. That's about everyone. The rest of the family you can meet later." Tate said to which he meant the pack. He wanted to tell her the whole thing before throwing her to the sharks or yet just be open with her but he knew that she needed more time before he could tell. They needed to build on their relationship before he could blurt out the truth about his beast.
"Lets eat dinner..."
...
"Okay so its way to quiet for a serial killer or any gang members to be hiding without us knowing." Rayna said as she walked through the open space with Emilio, a briefcase in hand.
"Your right but the only other explaination is actual animal attacks and only our guys. No, I don't think so... we're being targeted." Emilio told her.
"I know. We're being watched right now." Rayna spoke looking directly in front of her. Her men were on high alert. The whole space was filled with heavily armed men and this was clearly illegal.
"Ray, Emilio..." Kol greeted as both she and Emilio approached.
"Don't die until I get the p*****t for this, alright?" she handed him the briefcase and stepped back.
Kol nodded and opened it and examined the contents. Four full bags of cocaine rested there just like freshly fallen snow.
"Next delivery will be when this is all out of stock." Rayna told him.
"Done..." and as if on cue a howl danced through the cold midnight air.
"What the f**k?" Rayna looked to the woods.
"Look alive men. We have some hunting to do. Ray didn't you say you needed a new coat?" Emilio grinned.
"That I did, but I'll get it myself." Rayna grinned and picked up the hunting gun.
"Well this is exciting." She said and started to walk into the forest, gun in hand and murder in her mind.
...
"Why the hell is she even there?" Tate growled lowly as he watched Rayna walk into the forest.
"I don't know but I think it has something to do with the drugs she just gave that man and the fact that she has a gun that a sniper would use. Thank you call of duty." Dylan in a panic.
"We can't judge maybe she didn't know what was in there." Tate defended.
"Let's just kill this thing that has been killing our guys." Rayna voice said with a huff.
"Their hers guys, they call her boss." Edward pointed out.
"Okay how about we get out of her before we become that jacket she needed." Dylan's voice spiked higher.
"She does need a jacket..." Tate mumbled. The two others gave him a look, they really didn't want to become a fur coat.
But the only question going through Tate's mind was 'who is she really?'
Now Tate knew that he wasn't the only one hiding things in their relationship.
