"Ignore him my love" I heard Derek said to me.

Him?? And then I saw the woman shifted into a man , she was a shapeshifter too wait? Magnus , I should have known better.

" Magnus " I called his name.

" Hello dear did you miss me" he said smiling showcasing his perfect white teeth.

"You decived me" I said frowning.

"Did I?" Magnus said to me feigning an innocent face.

Derek who sat on the chair didn't like the way his mate was conversing with Magnus stood up and walked towards his mate who crouched down still holding the pink flowery dress in my hand.

"Stop disturbing her" I saw Derek stood in between us .

" oops sorry, I was just telling her that the pink dress will look good on her" Magnus said raising both hands up.

" My love did you find the one you want" Derek said to me ignoring Magnus who went to seat on the chair I sat before.

" Yes I like the pink dress" I said showing it to him.

" That's right sweetheart" Magnus said to me winking I looked at him and turned to look at Derek who was glaring daggers at Magnus.

" Don't you like it" I said gaining Derek's attention back, If eyes could kill Magnus would be dead by now.

"I love it " Derek said to me with a smile " the blue dress will suit you too my love".

" Milady follow me so you could try it on" the lady said to me and I nodded my head and followed her to a room which I think will be the dressing room.

When Aria left with the lady Derek turned to face Magnus who sat on the chair with his legs crossed and playing with his sharp nails.

"Where have you been" Derek asked Magnus.

" oh me?" Magnus answered uncrossing his legs facing Derek.

"The door who else" Derek said.

Magnus face suddenly turned serious "I went to the cemetery" Magnus smiled a small smile as he looked at the entrance door " it's been a while I visited her ".

Derek understand what Magnus was saying .

Back then Derek and Magnus childhood best friend , Magnus had lose his mother in a very young age and after some years later his father left him and abadoned him. Since then he has not seen his father till now.

Magnus was only ten years being the only child of his family. Since then he had been staying with Derek in Naal city with Derek.

" I met Alan on my way back " Magnus said . Alan was Ethan the king's younger brother, Alan has always been jealous and angry of Ethan since he became king saying he deserved the throne than his elder brother Ethan.

"So what happened?" Derek asked.

"He told me that we should be prepared for war" Magnus scoffed " crazy man ".

" He is sure crazy" Derek said.

Just then Aria came out of the dressing room wearing the blue dress Derek picked for her. The blue dress has the picture of a peacock on it which means royalty.

The dress has diamond stones around the waist and sleeves, the dress hugged me like a second skin and flow down from the waist down. I knew I looked beautiful in it and it matched his eyes perfectly.

"How is it" I asked holding both my hands together at the front and before Derek could say anything, Magnus already commented on the dress.

"It's beautiful" he said but Derek ignored him which I was grateful for before a fight will break out between the two friends cause I saw his eyes flickered red and turned blue back.

" you look beautiful my love" Derek said and I smiled, I went back in and tried the pink dress and showed it to him , this time Magnus kept shut but when he still raised his thumb up telling me it's good with a smile when he knew Derek wasn't looking.

We later picked seven more beautiful dresses and moved to the shoe store, I picked the shoes I like. When I was done Derek paid for the things we bought and we left the store after the woman packaged the dresses and shoes for me.

Derek shifted into his wolf and I climbed his back holding the things we bought with one hand and using my other hand to hold his fur tightly.

Magnus this time around shift into a wolf , his wolf was brown in colour, this was my first time seeing him In his wolf form.

As I have only seen him shift into a bird, and a woman. Derek started running when he made sure I was comfortable on his back as usual.

When we got to the castle, it was six in the evening as we spent most of the day at the market. I got down from the wolf as he shifted back to his human form.

Magnus also shift into his human form "I'll see you both at dinner" he said and left.

We got inside the castle as we passed the hall and climbed the stairs , as Derek's room was upstairs. But I stopped halfway the stairs in front of the room Elia was in. "Uh I want to see Elia " I said.

"" Ok when you're done come up to our room ok?" He said to me and I nodded and he kissed my forehead and collected the package and left to his room.

I opened the door gently entered and closed the door back. I saw Elia standing at the window with her hands resting on the windowsill she didn't noticed my presence yet.

I tiptoed towards her and covered her eyes, she wanted to scream but I quickly covered her mouth and released her as I held my stomach and laughed.

She turned around and when she saw it was me she glared at me " you scared me for once I thought I was being kidnapped" she said to me.

"I'm sorry was just trying to know what you'll do" I said after I've stopped laughing.

" Well you know now, where have you been" she said crossing her arms.

" Calm down Elia I'll tell you everything let me look at you first"I said and stared at her from head to toe.

She was wearing a brown dress and a grey coat, her green eyes shone brightly. Her dark brown hair fell over her shoulders, she has this innocent looking face.

She looked beautiful " you looked pretty baby girl " I said after staring at her " who dressed you?" I asked because I didn't remember Derek telling the maid to bath and dress her.

"It was a maid what was her name again" Elia held her chin trying to remember the maids name " Venetia " she snapped her finger when she remembered the name " she said her name was Venetia".

I didn't remember Derek sending Venetia to Elia .

"what is this place Aria , why is everything big here?" She asked and I dragged her to the bed as we sat on it.

I told Elia everything, about the time Derek saved me and her from the slaves prison, about him being a giant shapeshifters and his family , Magnus. I told her everything and answered the questions she asked me.

"So he calls you my love even when you both are not married and have not met before" Elia said.

" Yes ,he said something about me being his mate, and I don't know what that is I'll ask him tonight" I said.

" You guys sleep in the same room" Elia brows rosed up.

" yes I know it's weird right" I said.

"Yes it's weird ,I want to see the giants and giantess. I want to see him too Derek" Elia said looking excited.

" I don't think they are nice to us humans" I said and Elia face fell.

" Why?" She asked.

" I don't know but the king and queen hates me already " I said

" Why?" She asked again.

" because I'm his mate I guess, today at the dinning table the queen was angry at me just because I'm human". I said " but you will love Magnus and Liam they are both giants and very nice and friendly".

" Who's Liam and Magnus"Elia said frowning.

"Aish you're so forgetful, Magnus is Derek's best friend while Liam, prince Liam" I corrected " he his Derek's eldest brother".

"Oh , so prince Angus is his second brother and princess Astrid is the only princess right"she said.

" Yes you're correct " I nodded.

I spent some time with Elia telling her how much I missed her when she was in her deep sleep and then I remembered my new pet the rabbit, God I hoped it's still alive.

I came down from the bed as I ran towards the side of the bed to see a white rabbit which was sleeping .

" I have it fed" I heard Elia's voice and I breathed a sigh of relief holding my chest.

" Thank God, how did you feed it ?" I asked.

"I asked the maid Venetia to get me carrots so I fed it"

" It was a gift from Prince Liam, his pet he gave it to me" I said.

After spending time with Elia, I told her I was going to meet Derek in his room that he must be waiting for me. She didn't want me to go but I told her I'll be back in the morning and she finally let me go.

When I got to the Derek's room, I knocked on the door "come in my love" he said to me and I opened the door and entered closing it back.

I saw him sitting on the bed reading a book "you don't have to knock before entering my love it's our room".

he said to me dropping the book he was reading on the bed table. " Ok " I said.

"I've been waiting for you so we could go have our dinner" he said to me standing up and walking to where I stood. Even in his human form he was still taller than me.

"Oh I'm sorry for keeping you waiting" I said.

"It's ok let's go eat" he said holding my hand and was about going out of the room.

"I don't want to eat at the dinning room, I want to eat here with you" I said remembering what happened today at breakfast.

" I understand but I'm with you no one will hurt you ok" he said and after a while I agreed and followed him out of the room to the dinning room.

I wanted to tell him about Elia eating too but I remembered that she told told me she was not hungry and she must be asleep by now.

We finally got to the dinning room as usual they're all sitted, I saw Magnus too and I was grateful.

Derek sat me on the chair and he sat down on his too , so I was sitting in between him and Magnus.

"Good evening father and mother" he greeted his parents.

They nodded their heads , I was scared to greet them.

"Can't you greet or have you lost your tongue" the queen thundered.

" Maybe she has forgetten how to use her mouth" the king added.

" Mother and father please not tonight, can we just have a peaceful dinner" Derek said.

" About that where have you been cause I couldn't find you" Clarissa said .

" I'm not a kid for you to know where I go "Derek answered.

" I'm just asking to know where my son is, if he's safe before your little human mate bewitched you" Clarissa said clicking her tongue.

" Mother please" Liam said this time and just then the maids brought in the food when Derek stood up and took his mate out of the dinning room in anger.

"Where are you going the food is here" Clarissa said .

But Derek ignored his mother as he turned towards the maids " bring our food to our room" with that he left holding my hand.

When Derek and Aria left Angus laughed for the first time and everyone turned to look at him as he was always the quiet one in the royal family.

" that suit him right" he said.

"You won't understand because you don't have a mate yet" Liam said.

" Atleast I won't have a human mate" Angus replied back.

" You don't know what the future holds brother". While everything was going on Magnus ate his food silently without saying anything.

At Derek room

We sat on the bed with me in between his legs, he was caressing my cheek with his left thumb , while his other hand snaked around my waist.

"My love why are you quiet" he said to me.

"Uh nothing.. there's nothing on my mind" I answered.

" Don't worry we'll eat here from now on " he said to me " my mother's attitude is getting out of hand".

" I understand" I said and then there was a knock ok the door.

" come in " Derek said and the maids walked in and dropped the food on the mini dinning table in the room.

"Here is the food Master Derek" one of the maids said as they had their heads down.

" Leave" he said to them and they bowed thier head down and left.

"Come my love let's eat before the food gets cold" he said to me and I stood up as we strolled to the dinning table.

He pulled out my chair from me to sit and pulled out the chair opposite me and sat.

The food on the table was a familiar food I know , it was rice and fried meat I was grateful.

And then I saw a spoon raised at my face, wait he wanted to feed me? I said in my head.

"Uh...I can eat by myself" I said and I gained a frown from him.

" I know that but I want to feed you myself open your mouth say ahh".

I was embarassed as my cheek turned red , I opened my mouth as he put a spoonful of rice into my mouth which I chewed up.

" good girl " he said with a smile and he fed me without me even touching the spoon. He ate his food after he was done feeding me.

The maids came in to pack the plates and left closing the door. We took our bath but not together, I took my bath before he did.

Now we were laying on the bed with my head resting on his left arm and his right hand around my waist, it surprised me how I didn't feel anything sleeping on the same bed with him.

All I know is that I felt safe anytime I'm with him, I then remembered that he promised to tell me about the mate thing.

" Derek" I called him.

" Yes my love" he answered.

"You promised to tell me what a mate is" I said.

" You never forget do you" I heard him chuckle for the first time. " Ok I'll tell you". He said.

"I'm listening" I said.

" A mate is someone who you spend your life with, when our kind finds out mate we're bound to them and they are bound to us forever" he said.

" how did you know I'm your mate" I asked.

"We feel and know where our mates are, that when we decided to open up our heart. But if we don't open up our heart we can't find and know where our mates are, we will forever be alone".

" Wow, so why did Magnus not have a mate yet is it because he has not opened his heart yet" I asked.

" Yes my love, there's more " he said.

"Ok I'm listening".

" We mark our mate to let others know not to cross thier boundaries" he said.

" mark? How do you mark your mates" I asked curiously.

" I'll tell you that another day , you're not ready yet to be marked" he said.

" No tell me" I said sturbbornly.

"I'll tell you later my love, for now sleep " he said and I let it be but I still have one more request.

"Derek" I called

"Sleep my love" he said caressing my cheek it's seems to be a habit now of him.

" I will I have one more request" I said.

"Ok tell me" he said.

" I want to see you in your female form tommorow" I said and there was silence.

" Please" I said.

"Ok tommorow I'll show you sleep now" he said.

"Good night" I said

" Sleep well" he said.

I didn't know when I slept off but I was grateful I didn't have a nightmare.
