Official Witch-sitter

Harry's POV Divide and conquer. That's our strategy for the night! John walks off to make sure we have our table on the balcony. Michael grabs Tobias, heading towards the bar to place an order: for everything drinkable! While Kayden steps out on the crowded dancefloor with a squealing Raven reaching her arms above her head and waving them to the rhythm. I'm surprised she hasn't climbed up on his shoulders yet! I suppose she's in good hands and doesn't need me to babysit her. 'Don't let her drink regular drinks!' Jack admonishes, making me sigh and roll my eyes. 'Of course not!' 'If you're not babysitting her, who will keep a tab on her drinking tonight?' Fuck, he's right! 'Fine!' I huff as I try to make my way across the floor while screaming at Kayden. I'm making him the official witch-sitter for the night. I'll also tell the others to keep an eye on her. That should be good enough, right? 'Hay, Man!' 'Huh?' He yells, turning his ear towards me as he keeps moving to the vibration from the base. People bounce into me on all sides, and suddenly, someone grabs my ass, making me turn my head. The she-wolf is batting her eyelashes before licking her lips and trying to grab me by my shoulder. I give her a curt smile before turning back to Kayden, dismissing her crudely. 'You're the official witch-sitter! Don't let her drink, do you hear me? She isn't having regular drinks! Bring her up, or hand her something without alcohol!' I scream, pointing to John on the balcony. Kayden grins my way and waves me off, dismissing me light-hearted. He lifts his arms, grabbing Raven and shifting her to the front of his body. He hugs her tightly against his chest, holding her by her butt. She throws her head back and lets the music drown her laughter. She flings her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly, pushing her upper body flush against him. His face gets lost, buried between her breasts. I can only guess he's grinning smugly between them as I roll my eyes and push through the cluster of moving bodies. *** Raven's POV The alcohol creates pleasurable inertia in my mind: it is as if I have a slight delay while processing my surroundings. My body, however, is light as a feather. I know Doggie was here screaming something to my piggyback ride before leaving us. 'What did he want?' I yell down at him as I let his face out from in between my boobs. 'I'm the official witch-sitter for the night, your all mine!' Kayden grins up at me while squeezing my round globs through the silky fabric of the dress. 'You wish!' I laugh, feeling my heart pound along the rhythm of the base. 'Why do I need a sitter?' 'So you won't get drunk out of your mind jumping every male here!' 'Who said I'm only settling for the males?' I shout from the top of my lungs to get heard. I give him a cunning wink while waiting for his reaction. I see Kayden's face drop for a split second as he registers my statement. Then his face literally splits in two from the massive grin. I feel a growl emerge from his chest as he roars with laughter and booms over the crowd; 'Witch-sitter for life!' All around us: people dance or jump up and down. The atmos fear is lyrical from all the drunken wolves, laughing and singing along to music I have never heard. Through my own drunken state, I see Doggie on the balcony with Mr. Bossman, the black-haired boy, and a pretty boy. They drink, talk and laugh about something. They glow so beautifully in the dark, yet something is missing. I scan the room in search of something. I'm still high above all the rest on the floor, safe and sound in Kayden's arms. He's handsome. Just like Doggie, but in a different way: he's more ordinary looking. His face is narrow, with a prominent nose that is a little crooked, like Big Bears. Kaysen's eyebrows a thick and full over his deep eyes, while his hair is a classic Ceasar cut! Like the others, he has a toned and muscular body that would make the Greek gods envy him. He's a fine specimen indeed! My mind slowly rewinds to my thoughts of the Greek gods, and I remember - Adonis! He was with us, wasn't he? I look at the balcony again, but he isn't there. His snotty comment about me being a witch nestles into my brain, and I sober up some. Did he leave? Was it because of me? And why am I sad about it? He was having a problem with my company, not the other way around! Through the darkness by the entry, I see someone standing against the wall, hiding in the shadows. 'I need to pee!' I yell above all the noise. Kayden drops me to the floor and points me in the right direction. 'Don't disappear!' He warns, slapping my ass as I dance through the crowd, squeezing myself between bodies. I swear that everyone here is taller than me. I feel like a child compared to everyone, and I quickly lose all sense of direction. I accidentally bump into a barbie-lookalike woman at the edge with a red leather lookalike dress that's even shorter than mine. I hold my hands up in an apology, but she growls and bares her teeth at me. Her nose twitches as she recognizes that I'm not a wolf. Her frown turns into an evil grin, and she reaches for my arm with clawlike fingers. 'I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!' I yell over the music as I attempt to back away. I'm not in the mood for causing a scene right now. I'm drunk, on a mission, and don't have the time to deal with s**t! 'f**k your apology, midget! Wait until Alpha sees we have a trespasser!' She snarls. 'f**k you! The Alpha already knows I'm here. I f*****g came here with him!' 'LIAR!' She bellows, gripping my arms with her claws, ripping my skin open. I feel the sticky droplets of blood flow down my arms, and I see red. Who does this b***h think she is? Before I could shut her down for it, a massive wall appeared behind me. The vibration of a deep growl, sending shivers of delight down my spine, dances over me. Oh heavens, it's the sexiest sound imaginable! The woman looks surprised, then briefly scared before composing herself and plastering an obsequious smile on her face. 'Tim, thank the goddess! She's a witch, and she attacked me out of nowhere. I was just about to tell Alpha about her intrusion!' She screams angrily, all while trying to look like a damsel in distress, making me gag. 'f**k you, you liar!' I Yell, turning her own accusation against er. Her nails dig in deeper with my words, and I yelp in pain as she sneers at me to shut up! Tim's arms come from around me, gripping her wrists with a new rumbling. 'Clara, she's a guest. Let her go!' The woman's shocked expression is pure pleasure, and I fight the urge to stick out my tongue and tell her that 'I told you so' like the grown-ass woman I am! Tim squeezes her hard, making her cry - that's right b***h, now you know I feel, I think, satisfied by her instant punishment. She lets me go and pull her arms to her chest, gripping her wrists and rubbing them. 'Now leave and have fun, Clara!' Tim dispatched her with a flick of his wrist. She gave me a deadly glare before hurrying away to her friends. People are staring at me from all around, and their noses are twitching. I'm suddenly aware of the trickle of blood slowly working its way down my arms. With a firm grip on my elbows, Tim turns me and guides me towards the bar. The heavenly warmth from his skin ignites a fire in my chest, and I gasp for air. Like in a blur, I'm broth to the bar where Tim speaks to a man behind it. He nods to the back, and Tim keeps steering me on. I'm passively following his lead into a kitchen area in the back. The sudden whiteness is hurtful to my eyes, and I close them. I'm blindly led forward until I'm turned, lifted, and placed onto a counter. I glimpse my eyelids and see Tim through my lashes as he comes up to me with a towel to dry my arms. His eyes are dark like the midnight sky as he takes my right arm in his hands, fully focused on my arms. A million thoughts and questions rush through my mind, yet the only one coming out of my mouth is: 'Are you alright?' The man before me snaps his eyes to mine and looks me squarely into mine. His brows furrow into a frown. 'You wonder if I'm alright?' 'Yeah, I couldn't find you!' I say, tilting my head. 'I got worried.' 'You looked for me?' 'Of course!' I smile at him while he wraps the towel around my arm, pushing it against my body to hold it in place. He then moves over to my other side with a thoughtful nod. But he doesn't say anything else. The low thundering from the club on the other side of the wall feels so far away as warmth dances over my skin. His still the sexiest man I have ever seen. His hair is a sandy blond when dry, and all I want to do is run my fingers through his silky locks hanging down his forehead. 'What's your name?' I hum, mesmerized by its shine, unable to tear my eyes from his hair. 'Thor!' He answers without looking up at me. 'Thor!' I repeat, letting the name roll off my tongue, 'thank you!' The dark eyes slowly go baby blue before clouding over, and he turns to face me. 'The Beta and Kayden are looking for you!' As he said the words, they both came bursting in, looking around frantically. Doggie growled, and his eyes turned dark as he sniffed the air. 'I need names!' 'Hi, Doggie! I'm fine!' I smiled from across the room. 'You're bleeding! That's not fine, Raven!' I raise a finger his way warning him from using my name, but he snorts and ignores me. I guess it isn't Doggie in charge right now. 'I'm the worst witch-sitter ever!' Kayden exclaimed sadly, looking at my arms, his eyes filled with anguish. When I try to disagree, Tim cuts me off, growling low. 'Yes, you are!' I slap Tim's arm, making one of the towels falls. Tim catches it and scowls at me before wrapping it back tightly around my arm again. 'Names, little witch!' Doggie growls. I push my lips into a thin line, refusing to speak. I didn't come here to be interrogated. I'm not going to b***h about it! 'Clara Jenkins, Beta!' Tim reveals, 'Raven bumped into her, and Clara went crazy, calling her a trespasser!' 'And the blood?' 'She grabbed her by the arms, extending her claws.' Harry's eyes clouds over before he turns on his heel and calmly walks away. 'Why'd you do that? Now he's all mad!' I scowl. 'He was already mad. We don't treating guests like that!' Kayden said, coming up to me. He reached for my arms but backed up as Tim growled. Kayden and Tim stared each other down, exchanging looks that seemed to mean something I couldn't understand. Their silent conversation ended with Kayden raising his hands and backing up. 'I was just taking a look!' 'She's bleeding. What is there to see?' Tim huffs, not making any sense. This is the guy who insulted me because of what I am mere hours ago! Now he's saving me, taking care of me, and ratting out pack members? 'Why do you care about him wanting to look at it? I'm a witch, remember?' I hiss, suddenly angry over how this all turned out. 'And it only happened because I went looking for you!' Tim looks taken aback by my statement and harsh tone. His eyes flicker back and forward, but before he can utter a sound, the door bursts open again, and Doggie comes back with a crying and pleading Clara. He growls as he pushes her towards me on the counter. Kayden and Tim look at her with dark eyes, taking a stand on each side of me. This is getting uncomfortable! 'Apologize!' Doggie roars. 'I'm sorry, I didn't know, I swear! It was a mistake!' She rambles with quivering fingers. I notice bruises around her wrist. Tim must really have grabbed her hard earlier. 'It's fine, really!' I say, looking at Doggie. 'I just need a drink, then we can forget that this ever happened and have fun again!' Harry dismisses Clara with a sigh, growling as she leaves that she needs to learn to treat a guest better and something about not believing in the capability of the warriors patrolling the borders. 'Hey, Doggie. Do you have any band-Aids in this place?' Harry shakes his head, no! I guess wolves don't need them. 'There is a first aid kit on the wall there. It might contain bandages!' Tim mumbles, not looking at me. Harry nods and turns. He swiftly comes back and removes the soaked towels. At least it has stopped running down my skin and started to dry up some. Harry wrapped me up efficiently before throwing me over his shoulder and carrying me away, out to the blackness and music. Both Tim and Kayden stay behind, leaving the pissed Beta to deal with me and my need for a new drink! Harry carried me over his shoulder out of the kitchen. Past the dance floor. Up the stairs to the balcony and placed me by the Alpha's side. Mr. Bossman gave him a look, and Doggie rolled his eyes, telling him not to ask before he even opened his mouth. They are killing my mood! So I reach for a drink on the table, but the black-haired boy snatches it away. 'That's regular. I'll find you something lighter!' He says before rising to his feet and walking off before I can even say a word. 'Is everyone a witch-sitter tonight?' I huffed, annoyed at the term they had invented. 'No!' Doggie smiles and pulls me up into his lap. He lifts and twists my arms, looking as to see that I haven't bled through the bandages. 'I'm alright! Don't you worry, Doggie!' I plead, pulling my arms out of his grasp and putting them around his neck, hugging him. 'We're here to have fun, aren't we? Don't let that b***h ruin this!' He hugs me back, nodding his head against my shoulder. When I pull back and look at him, he smiles. This man has become so important to me. My friend! And because of him, I'm helping Mr. Bossman take down my kind, my former home, my mum! I need to be there! I want to ensure my friend is alright as all hell breaks loose because it's about to. A warmth I can only describe as love and devotion rushes through me, and I hug him tightly again, hoping I can pour all my emotions over him with my action. 'I love you, Bestie!' I giggle in his ear, making him laugh hard, squeezing me tightly in return! * The black-haired boy, whom I really need to learn the name of, comes back with a tray of drinks, followed by Adonis and my piggyback ride. He puts the tray down and looks at me expectingly, mumbling something inaudible! 'What?' I yell through the noise. 'I didn't know what you'd like!' He speaks up, looking between Doggie and me. I gave him a happy smile and thanked him. I don't know what I like either. I'm not usually drinking, sens I rarely feel safe enough to do it. But looking around at this group of men, studying each of their faces, I don't think I've ever felt more secure. Not since I was a small unknowing child and had yet to discover the cruelty in this world. I grab a colorful drink and sip through the straw. My tastebuds are happy dancing in my mouth as I am in Harry's lap. We all sit, drink, and laugh after that. I learn that the black-haired boy is Tobias. And I have a faint memory of hearing that before. I know he's friends with Big Bear's partner. My piggyback ride is Kayden. But I knew that! And I guess I can't keep calling him piggy just as little as I can call Tobias: the black-haired boy! Doggie, however, will always be Doggie, and Mr. Bossman suits the Alpha! Then there is Michael and Adonis, or Tim. 'How about shots?' Kayden yells, making me squeal, 'Yes!' Michael walks off and comes back! My head is heavy, and my face is in a constant smile. However, when Michael puts the tray down and hands out glasses - my face falls flat. The warm amber liquid is missing from my glass, and I look around. Everyone else is bursting out in roaring laughter at my disappointed pout. 'Where is my shot?' 'in your glass!' Michale grin. I lift the glass to my face, almost sticking my eye in it. Down at the bottom of the glass. I see a couple of shy drops hiding from me. 'That's it?' I shout at the top of my lungs. 'That's all I get?' 'That's all you get!' Doggie laughs, raising his glass to the assembly before us. 'Cheers!' He screams at the laughing bunch before throwing his head back and tossing the drink down. I frown and throw my own drops into my mouth. They burn on my tongue, and I can feel dem roll down my throat like beads, spreading warmth through my body on their way down. They slam me hard, like a sucker punch, and I feel myself sway. f**k, s**t, that's strong! Through a haze, I see the men before me shake their heads and make faces. I sluggishly think they don't like the taste. I couldn't even feel a taste - there was only burning. My eyes slowly fix on Adonis's face. His strong jaw still makes me want to trail it whit my tongue to his beautifully shaped lips. My head lulls, and I tilt it to the side and squint my eyes to study them. They look soft, so soft! His lower lip is plump, begging me to suck it into my mouth, tasting it. I lick my lips at the thought, stuck in a daydream for a moment. When lifting my gaze to his to study those baby blue eyes, my peach clenched between my legs. I might be imagining it, but his nose twitches, and he lifts his head to look me straight into my eyes. The lights flash all around us, and the music keeps pounding - but I can't hear it. It's as if my ears are on overload shutting everything out. The right corner of his lips twitches up in a small smile, making my heart flutter. He's so beautiful, alive, and safe. I feel myself return his smile before my eyelids fall like blinds, and everything goes fuzzy, then dark. *** Harry's POV Raven bitched about the tiny amount in her shot glass. Then she took the drops and dropped herself. I felt her sway, and then the scent of her dripping peach reached my nostrils before her head lulled back, and she was out! I couldn't stop myself from chuckling at her. While the rest either laughed along or looked concerned. Kayden and Michael stood to move off the couch, giving me space to put our little witch down! Kayden came with chairs for them, and then we took another shot each from the tray with Raven tucked between John and me. Michael disappeared after a while, following one of our female warriors to a dark corner. Kayden returned to the dancefloor, retrying his luck, while Tobias and Tim stayed with us, talking and drinking. It quickly turned into 1 AM, and Raven kept sleeping. We need to find some of the human stuff for her to drink from now on. We don't want to cut her nights short like this. On the weekends: they keep this place open all night, but since most of us are attending training on weekdays. They close at half past one. Alphas orders! 'Boys! I'm following the lead of our little witch here and is throwing in the towel!' I yawn and stretch my back. John nods and stands to his feet, walking off along with Tim and Tobias. Raven is limp as I try to hoist her up into my arms. The weight of her heavy body makes me fall forward and stumble. The alcohol hits me, and I steady myself against the backrest and push myself up again. I shake my head and search for Jack to help me sober up. 'Want help?' Tim asks me as he places a hand on my shoulder. I turn my head to look at him while frowning. I thought he had left. 'From you?' He furrows his eyebrows, looking annoyed, but nods. 'No offense, man! But you don't even like her. Why would you want to help me with her?' I hear myself bark as I turn completely. All kinds of emotions cross Tim's face, anger being one of them. 'Who said I don't like her?' I feel the anger build up inside me. What? Who? Is he kidding? He was an asshole towards her just hours ago. 'You!' I tell him in a duh voice, turning back towards Raven to lift her. 'I never said that!' Tim huffs at me, making me turn, ready to punch him in his face. I catch a glimpse of an eye roll and feel Jack at the surface. Tim might be a friend and warrior, but I'm the Beta of the New Moon, and he's not taking that tone with me. He insulted her earlier, and now he has the indecency to deny it! 'You told Kayden not to touch that!' I spat, pointing at her sleeping form while letting my authority roll off me in waves. 'You told him; she's a witch! As if that was something awful! You made her not want to be a witch any longer. She saved your sorry ass, and you should be grateful, not insult her and make her feel insecure over what she is!' I growl, completely pissed! Tim's face looks horrified by my words before he lowers his eyes, then his head. Through the vibrating speakers, I hear him mumble, 'Forgive me, Beta.' 'It's not my forgiveness you need first! It's her's! Then I'll consider it.' I warn him as I carefully hoist her into my arms, stabilized by Jack and anger. I fix her dress and walk off, not sparing him another glance. Fucking piece of s**t!
