A Pregnancy Revealed

Amber’s POV

It’s been three months since Lucia moved out of the apartment and into the house with Anthony. She has come by to visit on occasion and I have chosen for now to not mention anything about Lucas.  I’ve noticed that she is starting to look a little pale and even tired.  But I won’t press her on this as we are rebuilding a fragile relationship.  When she moved out to be with Anthony there was trust and respect lost on all sides.  She has confessed to me that she is pregnant and doesn’t want Anthony to find out just yet.  She isn’t sure how her mate will react to them having a baby.  I was astonished that she thought the baby belonged to Anthony but then that meant they has slept together.  I did not want to be the one to tell Lucas about that.  Behind the scenes Vlad was working with us to get any information he could about Anthony and why he befriended Lucia.  My intel was telling me that Brian was about to make a move on the pack and it wasn’t looking good.  What I couldn’t figure out was why in the hell would rogues be working with him?  Just then my phone dinged “attached you will find a couple of very interesting videos considering the Beta of the Alpine Woods Pack.  You will also find a few interesting videos of your charges supposed new mate Anthony.  Please use them with caution.  Also, the rogues that are helping the Beta are doing it out of self preservation because they have been threatened.  We are a peaceful pack that just want to be left alone.” I immediately called Ronnie and Vlad to come to my apartment so that we could watch the videos and plan our next moves together.  We were purposely leaving Lucas out of this mess because when it came to Lucia he had a hard time reigning in Ranger.

When Vlad and Ronnie arrived I shared with them the message that I had gotten and told them about the four different videos that were attached to the message.  We watched the videos in horror as Brian and Lucia met by the waters edge for the first time the night of her birthday.  We watched how she was so hopeful and he had nothing but contempt in his eyes.  She was so blinded by the mate bond that she didn’t see it.  They we watched the whole attack and heard her crying begging him to love her and asking him why he would hurt her that way.  Then when she was unconscious we heard him lay out his entire plan to take over the pack.  The next video showed him bragging about almost killing Lucia and how he was going to get the rogues to attack and weaken the pack so that he could take over.  This entailed the rogues kidnapping the Luna so that the Alpha would be weak.  I was aghast at how cunning this bastard really was.  The next two videos were of Anthony.  One was him talking with some unidentified Alpha about the plans to expose Brian, get himself appointed as Beta and then take down the Alpine Woods Pack for themselves.  The next video was of him telling that same person that he had succeeded in getting Lucia pregnant so that they could move forward with their plan.  She still hadn’t come into her wolf according to their conversation but it worked in their favor.  If she didn’t have her wolf then she wouldn’t know that they didn’t have a mate bond. 

Vlad’s POV

After watching the videos I was literally sick to my stomach.  How could people be so unkind to that sweet precious jewel.  I have my mate and she is the most perfect creature in the world to me now.  But there was a time when I was crushing on Lucia but now I saw her as a really good friend.  It’s not often a werewolf befriends a vampire in our world.  She accepted me completely without hesitation and now I looked at her like a kid sister and wanted nothing more than to protect her.  When Amber came to me a few months ago and wanted to know more about Anthony I really couldn’t tell her anything.  I was concerned because I couldn’t get a read on him and he wouldn’t stay around me long enough to get a read.  But then Amber and I teamed up with this Ronnie guy to try and bring Anthony down.  Lucas was the destined mate for Lucia and after they explained the prophecy to me and what it meant if the prophecy wasn’t fulfilled I knew that I needed to pledge my allegiance to them and help in any way that I could.  Watching the video of that Anthony guy talking I had to smirk.  When he said that he got her pregnant I laughed and said under my breath “that’s not your kid dumbass she was pregnant before she got with you.”  I heard Amber gasp and Ronnie growl.  I looked over at Amber and said “did I just let the cat out of the bag so to speak?”  She nodded her head and Ronnie demanded that I explain what I had just said.  Oh joy here we go this is going to be fun a domineering werewolf who is about to find out his Alpha and future Luna are going to be parents.  Add to that the Luna is in grave danger from more than one source.

Ronnie’s POV

Amber had called me when she got a text message with videos attached for us to view.  We had been working from two different views at this time and needed all the intel we could get from both areas.  The vitality of the Alpiine Moon Pack was instrumental in keeping the supernaturals safe.  So we were watching the Beta of that pack but we also discovered there was threat from somewhere else that we had not been able to identify.  Adding to that we still couldn’t figure out what this Anthony jerk was up to when it came to Lucia.  But after watching the videos I understood and I was livid.  How could that Beta guy hurt his mate so badly.  I knew one thing for certain if my Alpha ever saw that beating he would tear that Brian guy limb from limb.  The cruelty of that attack astounded even me.  Then when we heard all about this Anthony and some mysterious Alpha’s plans I was even more livid. They were just using my Luna.  When he said that she was pregnant I was already trying to figure out how in the hell to break the new to Lucas that she was expecting a baby from another wolf when I caught Vlad’s comment he made under his breath.  When he glanced at Amber with concern I knew there was something that needed to be explained by the both of them and quickly.

“What the f**k Amber,”  I roared, “you knew about this but didn’t say anything?  f**k when Lucas finds out he’s going to be pissed.  Do you know what he would have done if he knew?  She sure as hell wouldn’t be living with that jackass.”  I couldn’t help it I was pissed not only was my Luna in danger but so was our future Alpha pup.  Both Vlad and Amber stopped my rage by explaining that while they couldn’t quite put their fingers on it this Anthony guy was dangerous and it was the best at this time if he truly believed that the baby was his.  It was the only way to keep the both safe for the time being.  I had to concede after what we just heard she and the pup were safer if he didn’t know the  truth.  I also realized that I couldn’t tell Lucas any of this just yet.  Where Lucia was concerned he had a hell of a time keeping Ranger at bay.  He would lose his head if he knew that she was pregnant as well.  He’s going to be pissed when he first finds out but then he will calm down and understand why we couldn’t tell him.  We needed to make a plan and we needed to thwart the take over plans of the parties concerned.  Seemed like the key to the second take over plan was the first attack taking place.  After much discussion we decided that we needed to forward the video of Brian and the messages Amber had been receiving anonymously to Lucian.  We could at least expose one plot and possibly save some rogues and other innocent werewolves from being killed.

Unknown POV

The information I leaked was working in our favor.  I had hoped that Amber would send the information on to Lucian.  My pack of rogues didn’t want to help that Brian with his plans.  We were being forced to.  I wasn’t sure what he was holding over our leaders head but it had to be something big.  Although we are rogues we are peaceful band.  We want nothing more than to just live off the land and be left alone.  All of us left our own packs for personal reasons and chose to become rogues.  There isn’t one wolf in this group that was banished or cast out from their former packs.  We got wind that Brian was being arrested and a new Beta was going to be named as soon as Alpha Lucian could find one.  Brian was going to have to answer for his crimes and rumor has it that Lucian has called for a meeting with our leader to discuss the future of the two different packs.  Part of me was thankful that our part at least was over in this whole ordeal.  But another part was weary because in general Alpha’s don’t like rogues on their lands and will kill a rogue when they meet them.  I didn’t want our group killed.  We had women and children that have never known anything but our little band of wolves and they didn’t deserve that kind of treatment. 

Lucian’s POV

I was shocked.  I had received a bunch of text messages and a few videos anonymously through my email.  The messages were clearly from a person within the rogue group that we had been trying to locate.  But what confused me was that this rogue was talking about them being a peaceful band of wolves and how my Beta was the one attacking random wolves on our territory.  I couldn’t believe what I was reading.  Brian was loyal to me and my family he wouldn’t do something like that.  I trusted him with my life.  But then I started watching the videos and couldn’t believe my eyes.  I have to admit that I cried like a baby when I watched my sister acknowledge the mate bond with him.  Then I watched as he ruthlessly beat my sister almost to death.  Screaming and yelling at her that he didn’t want a worthless mate like her even if she was of Alpha blood.  That he was going to take me out and take out our entire blood line.  With the videos of his plans I had enough evidence to arrest him.  It was going to leave me without a Beta for the time being but I had a very good Gamma and Delta that would pick up the slack.  Neither of them wanted the Beta position so I would have to start looking for that.  I called Lucia and told her that she could come back home because we now knew the truth about who hurt her.  She had replied that she couldn’t come back home just yet as she had found her second chance mate and was expecting his pup.  When I told mom she broke into tears saying that Lucia was supposed to come home and be with her when she first shifted.  I calmed mother down by telling her that while she had found the mate she had not shifted yet and it would be a while before she could as she was also expecting a grandpup.

I reached out to the rogue group after Brian’s arrest.  I wanted to meet with the leader and figure out for myself if they were indeed a peaceful group.  If what I learned from the text messages and the videos were true then I had made up my mind that I would grant this group a corner of my land to live their lives in peace as they saw fit.  I know that as an Alpha we should be wary of rogues and most of us kill any and all rogues on sight but something was telling me this group was different.  Usually rogues have been kicked out of their packs because of a some crime that they committed but according to the texts that I had seen these wolves had left their packs for personal reasons.  Hell if I thought about it my own little sister could have been a rogue.  She had threatened that if we didn’t let her take a hiatus and leave for a while on her own that she would break ties with the pack and become a rogue.  So I knew good wolves sometimes left their packs.  The rogue leader agreed to meet with me on neutral ground and I was relieved he could have very easily turned me down.  I prided myself on being fair and just and I intended to be that way with this group of wolves.  I had decided that first thing I needed to do was to take care of the rogue business, then somehow get Lucia to come back to the pack for her safety and for her pups safety.  Then I needed to get the trial going for Brian as well as finding a new Beta for my pack.  Crap my job just got a lot busier.
