Chapter 3

1156 Words
Elena POV I turned to see the Alpha standing there. I saw the Alpha standing there. He was a little bit enraged. I didn't seem to know what was going on and what he was doing there, and it looked like he was not alone. There was a man standing close to him. I wondered who that might be. It was a bit strange that there was a man standing behind him. I had never seen him before, not anywhere in the pack. “What is going on here?” Alpha Valak asked in a very cold tune. The guards quickly stopped flaring their wolves. It was very scary, his presence was enough to make anyone scared, but then there was no telling what he was going to do. “She was trying to step into the house when you were still inside, and I was telling her not to step inside.” “That isn't enough to make you want to hit her. Have you gone insane? Why would you want to hit a woman? Are you mad?” Alpha Valak was furious and, by the looks of things, if care was not taken he was going to hurt someone. “I am sorry My Lord, it won't happen again.” The guards that were preparing to pounce on me were now quiet and by the looks on their faces it seemed like they knew that the Alpha was going to hurt them. But why was the Alpha protecting me? Why would he go this length for someone like me? “So this is the beautiful maiden Elena? She looks rather dazzling.” I turned to see the man standing there looking at me with a weird looking smile on his face. I had not seen him before in the pack and the way he stood close to the Alpha was enough to show me that he was not part of the pack. “Yes that is her, now we are done here, can we head back to the Pack house?” The Alpha’s voice was calm and felt so cold, but I was still wondering what they were doing here in our house. It was strange for him to be there. I watched as he and his guest were walking side to side. Our eyes met, and it was like there was something he was hiding or trying to say. His eyes were rather cold and intimidating, but that was not what scared me. It felt like a warning, but what wrong did I do? Was it because of the way I begged Edward to be with me? When the Alpha and the other man entered their cars and zoomed off, I turned and headed inside to see my mother. Suddenly, I almost forgot that I was even hurt earlier. I wanted to know what was going on. I entered, and I saw my stepfather and my mother sitting in the living room. The room was quiet. I couldn't tell what was going on, and it seemed like there was something they were trying to do, but it seemed me being here was bothering them. “Mom? What is going on?” I broke the silence. My mother didn't reply, she looked down and was trying her best not to look at me. She had never acted this way before, there was something going on and, from the looks of things, it didn't look nice and, for some reason, I really thought I was caught in the middle of things. “Elena, I want you to go inside your room and pack up your things. You will be leaving tomorrow to go meet your new mate.” My stepfather said sternly, he sounded serious when he said those words, but I didn't understand what he meant by my new mate. “What are you talking about? Why will I be packing to go meet someone? What do you mean by my new mate?” I was confused, and it seemed that there was something else going on that I failed to understand. “I told you to go pack your bags, you are leaving for the Crest Pack tomorrow. From there on you will be Lord William’s Mate.” My stepfather said. I was shocked when I heard what he said. I wanted to believe he was joking when he said that I was going to be mated to a man I know nothing of. “You must be joking, right? How do you expect me to be with someone I have not met or seen for the first time, and you expect me to just take him as my mate? That is just absurd. Tell me he is joking, mother, tell me your husband is joking.” I looked at my mother. I was expecting her to speak up and say something, but there was no reply from her, and it seemed like she was just looking at us. I took one look at her face and my heartbeat dropped drastically. “Mother, tell me he is lying. Please tell me he is lying and that he doesn't mean anything he has said. Please tell me, I know there is no way you will give me off to any man like that.” I looked at my mother and yet there was no reply, my heart was beating faster than ever, and I had so many thoughts running through my head. “Tell me, both of you are joking! You can't give me out like I am something you own! This is madness, I am not being mated to anyone and that is final!” “Now you listen here! I have had enough of your stupid yapping! Damn it! You have to understand it is the fate of our pack we are talking about! And this is the wish of your late father! So you have to honor him no matter what!” My stepfather was angered. I didn't care to listen to what he said. I was trying to find out why my mother was not talking. “Tell me mother, is what he is saying true? I can not give to a man I have heard so many disgusting things about. I know I am weak and useless, but why are you trying to give me away? I will do anything the both of you say. But I don't want to go to him. Please, mother, tell me it was a lie.” I looked at my mother waiting for her to say something that would give me hope, and I would know there was no way that I was being sold. My mother turned to me and looked me in the eye, she touched my hair, and it seemed she was about to tell me what was happening. “Do as your father says and pack your things.”
