“Beta Clement, I have been calling you for the last ten minutes, at first I thought you’re mind linking, but it first take that long, the Alpha king wants to see you in his office right now” said Clement secretary making him shake his head from his thoughts it’s been five years since he last saw Levi in the hospital, but he can’t help think about him everyday, and he knew been it’s too long but why can’t he move on? Why can’t he forget him like Levi forgot him? He kept going back to that day, and what he would have done differently but deep down he knew if Levi wanted to leave he would have found a way.

“Tell him, I will be there in a minute” Lucas nodded leaving the room and Clement washed his flustered face looking himself in the mirror in his office half bathroom, he had let his hair grow even longer and his beard long, some will say he was hiding behind them but he didn’t care, he was just existing after Levi left him, but who could blame him. He was the one who rejected him first wasn’t he? He sighed shaking his head.

He went to Jason’s office that was two doors away from his. Jason wanted privacy in his office and Clement knew why. those three, were always busy even in the middle of the afternoon and he couldn’t help but envy them. They were happy together and you hardly heard any quarrels between them, and his sister was now expecting a baby boy, and it was Nick’s child, again.

“Jason, you called?” he entered his office without knocking but he already knew he was alone and expecting him

“Yes, sit down I want to talk to you about the school project we talked about. I already have an excellent architecture company selected but I’m not going to be able to attend the meeting in the city” Jason explained.

Clement hated leaving the island and he was not going to do it now, that was his only term when he agreed to be Jason’s Beta

“No, send Nick. I told you Jason. I’m not leaving this island unless it’s on fire” he folded his big arms making his big chest pop out

“I know, and I’m sorry to ask you to do this, but I don’t have a choice. Abby is going to give birth any moment now, and you know she is going to kill me if I even dare leave her with Nick who is driving her crazy” Clement lips actually stretched into a smile, yes Nick was over protective and it was driving everyone around him crazy. you could swear he was the one pregnant

“Hey I have an idea, make Nick do it. All of us will be happy to have rest from his demanding nature” he smirked and Jason couldn’t help but think it’s a good idea but he already knew his mate's answer. he wanted nothing to do with working in the kingdom, he loved taking care of children, and he did a good job raising the twins, and Boyce

“He said no, to being a beta, what makes you think he will leave Abby now? His worse than a she wolf” they both chuckled knowing it was true.

“I don’t know about this Jason, I don’t like traveling. it’s too much” he groaned thinking about the last time he travelled out of the island it was the day before he was crowned the beta. Five years, four months, forty five minute and four second since Levi left him

“okay, you know I don’t beg for anything but I’m begging you man, please do this for us, maybe it will be good for you to actually face your fears, and this will help you move on” he thought about it, and the fact that this was an important project for the island. they were many pups but schools were overpopulated, they needed a big school and separate high school children from the primary children.

“Okay, but I’m going to come back the minute the meeting is over, and you owe me big time for doing this, Jason” he got up going to finish his job and he couldn’t help but think of his mate again, but he had hoped that he was happy. Maybe it was really time for him to move on, find someone who will make him happy. Will that even be possible? His an a grown man and he only found happiness in one person, and that was his mate. His feeling was beyond the mate bond. Now that the even think about it, he has been in love with Levi since the day, he found out he was his mate.

But he knew no one will ever make him happy like Levi did. Those green eyes looking at him with so much love. The taste of mint and pineapple in his skin. No matter what he couldn’t forget the day he found out Levi was his mate even though the memory didn’t end well. At all.

After he finished with the paperwork he went to his room to pack getting ready to leave tonight to the big city, his wolf running in his head happy to be finally leaving the island thought Clement. He had never seen him this excited since he shifted, maybe going to the city was going to be good for them.
