Regret Not Helping Daisy

1764 Words
"I don't want to take it. That food was given to you by your mother so you can't give it to anyone else. If it's your own money, then I'll take it. Even if I have to eat it," Kylie said. She didn't want her two new friends to get the wrong idea. Kylie understood Daisy's situation, and she didn't want to take it for granted. If she took even one of the food given to her by the girl, then it was certain that Daisy's ration would be reduced. The girl didn't want to starve her friend because it could interfere with Daisy's concentration in studying. Chloe breathed a sigh of relief. She thought that Kylie was like any other arrogant girl who wouldn't accept food from a simple person like Daisy. "You don't have to worry, it's not from my mom," Daisy said. The girl was still very hopeful that Kylie would accept the food she gave her because there was nothing else she could give as a token of gratitude for Kylie's kindness in helping her. Kylie furrowed her brow. "Did you buy this food yourself?" Kylie asked again. Daisy shook her head quickly, making Kylie's brow furrow even more. Understanding Kylie's confusion, Daisy tried to explain to her friend. "None of this food was brought by my mom or I bought it myself, but it's all from people who gave it to me," Daisy said, explaining where she got the snacks from. "From them?" asked Kylie as she looked at all the students one by one who were still looking down in their seats. Daisy nodded quickly. "Yes, it's all from them," she replied with a big smile. "What's the reason they gave you this? Didn't they mean something else or mix something into it?" Kylie asked suspiciously, looking at Daisy's face and then back at the students. "No, Miss. We wouldn't dare do that," they replied in turn. Daisy, still smiling, said, "You shouldn't think that way. They're all nice, they're just afraid of Viola. They're also giving this as an apology for not being able to help me." Kylie, who did not believe it, immediately turned to Chloe, the tomboy girl also nodded her head, confirming Daisy's words. "Alright then, I want it. I want this, this, this, and this. Can I eat it?" asked Kylie while holding some of the snacks. Daisy nodded again, this time the head nod she gave was quite strong because she seemed calm, her bad thoughts about Kylie not accepting food from her gone. "Just eat, I'm also very happy if you want to take my gift. I can't give you anything, Kyl, just this to thank you. If you guys hadn't helped me out, I would still be getting bad treatment from Viola today," Daisy said. "You don't need to thank us, it's only natural that we stand up for what's right. So now there's no need to say that anymore," Kylie said while returning the smile given by the girl standing in front of her. Chloe nodded her head and then replied to Kylie's words, "Kyl is right Dai. You don't need to thank us because friends are supposed to help each other. No friend has the heart to see his friend persecuted. "And all of you, never be afraid of threats from anyone because solidarity is very important. If not your friends, then who else will help you," Kylie said, speaking to all the students in the class. "Yes, Miss," they replied simultaneously. Daisy smiled. It was like this that made her feel heavy-hearted to stay away from Kylie at her parent's request but to obey her mother and father, Daisy had to do it. She also didn't want her family to become the target of Drake Adams' wrath, let alone cut off the scholarship that was given to her because this was her only hope, she could help her family's economy later on if she got a very high education. Kylie opened a packet of chocolate and prepared to eat it, but she decided against it when she heard Daisy's question. "Kyl, is Mr. Jeykey here yet?" Kylie smiled inwardly. "I don't know, I haven't met him yet because I've been escorted by Arson since yesterday. What are you looking for?" asked Kylie pretending not to know. Drake's favorite daughter thought that Daisy was looking for Jeykey because she missed the handsome man, but she didn't know yet that Daisy wanted to give her some snacks like she had given her. Daisy smiled and shook her head. "Nothing. I just wanted to give this to Mr. Jeykey as a thank you because yesterday Mr. Jeykey also helped me and finally found out what the Chancellor had done. At least all the students can now be calmer and don't have to be afraid of the threats made by our Rector," Daisy said, explaining her purpose in finding the fourth son of Drake Adams. The girl didn't want Kylie and the others to get the wrong idea. In her heart, she honestly wanted to see the handsome face of the well-built man. Kylie rounded her lips and then immediately devoured the chocolate that was still in her hand that had been opened from the package. It turned out that her thoughts were wrong, even though she just wanted to be happy and hoped that Daisy could become Jeykey's lover. "Come, accompany me to find Mr. Jeykey before class starts," Daisy said as she put all the snacks in her hands and hugged her a little. Chloe stood up. "You're on your own, I haven't put my bag down yet," Daisy replied to her friend. "Yeah, you're on your own. Now there will be no one who will do bad things to you. If there is, just tell me," Kylie said in response to Chloe's words. The girl also approached her two friends. "I don't want to interrupt your time either," Kylie said as she turned around and walked away from Daisy and Chloe. Chloe stifled her laughter, knowing what Kylie meant. Daisy made a confused face and then turned to Chloe. "I've got to get back to class," the girl said, walking after Kylie and not forgetting to bring the food Daisy had given her earlier. "What's wrong with them? What did Kylie mean by that too?" she asked in a low voice while monologuing. Daisy stepped out of the classroom to look for Jeykey's whereabouts, she was forced to circle the entire campus in order to find the man because Daisy had no idea where exactly the handsome man was. Daisy hoped that she wouldn't be late for class, let alone miss a lesson. After the departure of the three girls, all the students in the class breathed a sigh of relief. They were waiting for Daisy's departure, it felt like they couldn't hold their breath for too long for fear of Kylie's presence there. "It's lucky that Daisy and Chloe are friends with Miss Kylie. If only yesterday I wasn't afraid of Viola and helped Daisy when she got bad treatment from that girl, maybe now I can also be Miss Kylie's friend," said one of the female students. "You're right. Those of us who are too stupid to continue to be afraid of Viola's threats should have the courage to report this to Mr. Jeykey. If we were united, maybe the Rector and Viola would have been expelled from this campus. We don't need to wait for a long time like this until we get punished by Miss Kylie," another female student said. Meanwhile, the male students could only nod their heads, confirming their friend's words. Kylie and Chloe deliberately disappeared immediately after leaving Daisy's class. They chose to hide and let their friend search for Jeykey alone. Kylie had asked Chloe why the girl didn't want to accompany Daisy by saying she wanted to go to class, but the proof was that the girl was currently with her to continue monitoring Daisy from a distance. Chloe says that she is deliberately trying to make Daisy brave and not continue to be afraid of what has happened to the girl before, she is not telling the truth if she is deliberately so that Daisy can get a boyfriend, Jeykey Adams. It may sound impossible, but trying never hurts, the tomboy thought. Chloe also asked Kylie why she didn't want to help Daisy meet Jeykey when the man their friend wanted to meet was Kylie's brother. Kylie said she wanted to give Daisy and Jeykey time together. Kylie's answer made Chloe think that Kylie was doing it on purpose. "Don't tell me you're setting them up?" Chloe asked the girl standing next to her. Kylie smiled and nodded. Chloe narrowed her eyes. "Don't be like that! I'm afraid Daisy would love Mr. Jeykey, and your brother would never want to be with Daisy. Don't you feel sorry for your friends?" Chloe said. Although she was very happy to hear that, she didn't want to show it in front of Kylie. Kylie was silent for a moment, trying to digest her friend's words. It was true that no one knew his feelings, especially since Jeykey often gave responses to several women who tried to approach him. However, Kylie was sure that Jeykey liked Daisy from the look the man gave her when he looked at the girl's simple and gentle face. "There's no harm in trying, right?" said Kylie. "Yes, but I'm afraid that if Daisy has feelings for Mr. Jeykey and your brother doesn't reciprocate Daisy's feelings. I don't want to make Daisy sad, she has enough sadness already," said Chloe who also had a sad face. "So what should we do?" asked Kylie feeling guilty about what she had done. The two of them were still monitoring Daisy who continued to search for Jeykey's whereabouts. "Never mind, let it go. I want to see their meeting too," Chloe replied. Kylie immediately folded her face. She thought Chloe was asking her to go over to Daisy and keep her company. Chloe wanted to see the meeting of the two humans of the opposite s*x. "Where should I look for Mr. Jeykey, when there's no one in his class? If I go around every level, I'll be late for class," Daisy monologued as she continued to walk. In the distance, Daisy saw several men with scary faces approaching her, making the girl freeze. She wanted to turn around and run away, but her legs were too heavy to move.
