Chapter 6

ARIANA’S POV Ever since that moment I accepted to be his personal assistant, at work, my life felt interesting as the weekend passed by. I couldn’t wait to resume work, and feel alive, being with other people. I hoped that they would like me. But then, since Luke showed care to me, then there would be more caring people here, than those who are less caring. A whole week had passed ever since I got here, and I was feeling much better, ready for work, tomorrow. “Moon goddess, thank you so much.” I appreciated, with a smile on my face. Then I cozied myself up on the bed, and wrapped the bedcover around my body, feeling so excited for the D-day. But then, just after I had been so excited about work, my mind took me back to my life, back at Michael’s pack. Those horrible experiences made me feel less of myself, back then, and now, I was determined to pick up my pieces. Probably get a better life, and to stay happy. My eyes began to feel heavy, and before I knew it, I had no interest in opening them again. MY body had relaxed so much that I didn’t know when I gave in to sleep. ~DREAM STATE~ The next time I opened my eyes, I met myself on a strange field. It was very large, and also a field good enough for any kind of sports. And then I saw people gathered around me, like they were celebrating me. Although, they didn’t close up on me. They were just a crowd around. But it seemed like there was a purpose I had, here. I recognized everyone here, although, it didn’t seem like that in reality. Suddenly, I felt a strange, yet, familiar power. It felt dark, because whoever it was, the person had dark intentions, and was definitely around us. I looked around cautiously until I caught sight of Valerie and a woman, walking towards us. Silence fell, and I moved forward, with my brows raised. I didn’t need anyone to tell me what was going on. Valerie had definitely partnered up with this woman who seemed to have a strange aura of power, coming from her, to fight against us. I also noticed that the man I was with, was Michael, and like things went the way I had once imagined it. “What the hell is going on!” Michael questioned from behind me. “Well, you’re about to understand what is going on.” Valerie voiced out, and laughed hysterically. She seemed to be speaking from pain, and anger that she didn’t get what she wanted. I could also feel immense power, emanating from the woman she brought along with her, and she seemed really serious. Her lips began to move, and I was sensing she was commanding things to work as she tells them to. The wind began to blow fiercely, and as I sensed what she was about to do, I knew I had to act fast. “Everyone, get behind me!” I voiced out, and people began to scream, and get behind me. The warriors also helped the elderly and the young children to get behind me. Behind me had enough space to take the whole pack, so all I had to do was to ensure their safety. Before I knew it, the woman directed a wind of thorns at us, and I moved my hands, then created a shield over the people, then blocked the wind of thorns from getting to me, and hit it back to her. But she was quick enough to diver it to the ground which dug up a hole instantly. “Give up, Ariana! Or I’ll destroy you!” She voiced out, in a raspy tone, which would sound scary to most people. “Never! These people accepted me for who I am, so I will protect them.” I retorted, while glaring at her. “Then prepare to die along with them.” She threatened, and commanded the lightning to connect with her palms, and not just that, a great whirlwind, mixed with stones, headed my way. I shut my eyes, and connected deeply within myself, then growled out loud as I snatched the lightning from her, and made it attach with the whirlwind, then directed it back to her, and Valerie. But somehow, that action had woken deep inside of me. I wanted blood! And it was seeming uncontrollable. ~ “Trrr!” The alarm rung out loud, and I sat up abruptly as I jolted out of my dreams. I hit the alarm with my hand, and then stretched and yawned, ready for the day. I wasn’t really surprised about the dream I just had, because it was almost the same kind of dream I had when I was at my former pack. It just came in different versions, each time. Actually, I understood why I had those dreams back then. I had always wished I would suddenly have some kind of superpower, and the whole pack would be in need of my help, and they would see my worth. Well, that thought and imagination has ended, so the dream, should, too. A knock suddenly came on the door, and that caught my attention, and also made me stop what I was meant to do. “All these are time-wasting.” I said, under my breath, annoyed that I had to open the door, when I could use that time to get things ready. “Who’s there?” I inquired, dryly. “I’m Lisa. Alpha Luke instructed me to wake you up, and remind you to get ready for work.” Lisa informed me, and I rolled my eyes. Then I opened the door. “I already woke. Thank you.” I said, with a smile, happy that I had actually woken up before he sent someone to do that. At least, that way, he was going to know that I cared about the work, and was serious about it when I agreed. “Alright, miss.” Lisa uttered, and left. I closed the door behind me, and then walked on to the bathroom to wash up. After doing that, I did other necessary things to get ready for the day. Then I stepped out of my room, and walked down the stairs to the living room, and I met Luke, sitting, and waiting for me. “Did I keep you waiting?” I asked, out of curiosity. “No, you didn’t. I heard you were already awake even before I sent someone to do that.” Luke spoke as he raised his head to look at me. “Yes, that’s correct.” I gladly responded, then I caught a slight smile on his face, which disappeared, not long after. “Alright then. Let’s get to work.” He urged me, and I gladly followed him.
