Chapter 13: Lions, Tigers, and Apes, Oh My!As they parked Edgar in the parking lot, and made their way to the zoo entrance, Jason looked at his family, and Howard. Was Howard still family? He felt like family. God, did he feel like family.
Everything felt normal, like it used to before his not so great exodus. For a second, he wondered what it would have been like if he had never left, if Howard had never asked him to. Would they be happier now? Would the kids be doing as well as they were? Would he and Howard have slept together last night? Or would they have been one of those couples that had separate rooms and spent their time together jabbing at each other?
