Chapter 5: CruisingJason waited on the couch in the family room as Howard changed his clothes. Other than the kids’ bedrooms, the family room was the one room that Howard had not redecorated. Jason sat back comfortably on the couch, strumming through a copy of National Geographic. Who would have thought that Hungary was so beautiful? Maybe they could do that as a holiday some time.
He kicked off his shoes and stretched out on the couch as he looked through the magazine. Howard had always insisted on educational magazines in the house. National Geographic, Smithsonian, a horde of science-y ones for kids with rangers that he couldn’t even recall. Jason smiled. It had worked out well. James was in a good college and Jane was helping do her part in the world.
