Luis
“Ala eh, na riyan ka pala?” (Oh, you are here?) Council JC acknowledged his presence but was still glued to his laptop screen.
“Yes, I wanted to ask about the Gala tonight?” Luis was hoping things would go smoothly. He had not much time already.
“Sya na! (Alright!) I am adding you to the list of husbandos to be auctioned off. Happy now?” Council JC involuntary said as he typed a few letters. The click-clack sound was funny, to say the least. It felt like how he said “Sya na” earlier.
Luis wanted to disagree with him but refused to. He might be digging his grave if he pissed him off. No one messes with the Council of Gigolos. He learned it the hard way when he went against Council Xean’s instructions.
“Thanks,” he scratched the back of his head. It gave him stress relief even for a second only. “I wanted to ask for an invitation for my date tonight.” He stretched the last part.
Council JC immediately stopped whatever he was doing and turned his gaming chair around. It was a black leather chair with a sign on the back.
“You what?” Council JC raised his voice on him, along with his eyebrows. It was too thick to go unnoticed.
Luis just kept his smile inside as much as possible. He badly needed to get that invite and being in his good grace meant bowing his head low and avoiding any emotion on his face. Especially, a smiley one.
“I wanted to ask for an invitation…” he spoke so low it was almost impossible to hear. He instantly wanted to get out of the room.
Council Xean who was looking at the mirror a while ago had watched them.
“You want some make-up? You look pale Luis my Papi.” He chuckled at his own joke. Luis could feel some weird vibes around the three of them. Even council Nathan who was always silent.
“Thanks, but I can manage.” He spoke with utmost sincerity.
Luis looked back to Council JC who was still looking at him.
“You know that the Gala is an exclusive event and it takes a week to background check anyone and everyone who is invited. We only have a few hours.” He spoke in straight English this time. He did this when he was angry or stressed. Well, he was both today.
“She is a prospective client and I wanted to get her approval tonight.” He was trembling as he spoke. He was never this close in proximity with the three of them for a while now. He was grilled during his first visit to the headquarters but that was ages ago.
A lump formed in his throat as he waited for an answer. He already asked her and it would be minus points for him if they stopped her at the entrance.
“Ganire ang gawin natin, (We should do this,) ask your agent to send me her background check information and will send her name to our people on the Gala, if and only if I see her fitting with our crowd tonight.” Council JC raised his index finger up and waved it like he was holding a wand.
It was funny to see him doing that while going back to his laptop.
Luis did not bother to ask again and instead just took the cue, “I will have them sent here in a few minutes Council JC.” He then rushed out of their office to grab that Pat Yu for his date’s invitation.
Cassie
That bastard of a guy, who would find a good enough gown at this hour? He should have thought of offering to help her choose her dress.
She complained to herself. She was used to shopping in Manila for parties but tonight is a Gala. Who sells gowns for petite women? Like hello? Any ready-to-wear gowns were designed for tall women.
She was definitely not going. Cassie did not like the thought of showing up with a lousy outfit. It was not how she rolled.
The car she rented out for her trip today came to a screeching halt as she saw the entrance to Greenbelt Mall. She knew most of the designers had Boutique stores there.
Cassie maneuvered her car towards the parking building in Paseo De Roxas avenue. She knew the place at the back of her head.
As she stepped into the mall, it was empty as always. People tend to go there to buy and then move to another place. It wasn’t the place for a crowd to gather and hang out all day.
Mostly, office workers just pass thru it while others go around it. The place screamed luxury after all. With Hermés and Louis Vuitton on the entrance who wouldn’t?
She then stopped in front of a store. It displayed a few gowns and one of them caught her eye.
She immediately went inside, after all, the price was not the issue but the fit. Cassie wanted to look sophisticated and elegant. Moreover, she wanted to flaunt her beauty as someone might ask her to dance.
She tried a couple of the dress until one finally emphasized her plump breast and juicy ass.
Cassie turned around the fitting room with mirrors on each wall. She liked it a lot.
Without a doubt, she hurriedly changed her dress and bought the gown before someone else did. She even bought the pair of stilettos the store clerk offered as she was waiting for her gown to be packed.
“Here you go, Miss. Thank you and hope you come back.” The store clerk gave her the paper bag with the gown inside and another one that contained the shoes.
She then went into the Bento Fix Salon for her make-up and hairstyle.
After several hours of the neck-numbing session, her face was ready.
It was time to go back to the hotel to change her clothes. As she looked at her phone, an email popped up on the screen. The title said Adonis Gala Invitation.
That was it. She was really going to a Gala with that hunk she would soon call her husband.
