Cassie The dress she bought earlier was just the right fit that she wanted it. Looking at her face in her mini mirror for one last look before she stepped out of the rented car. The place for the Gala was nothing special for her. It looked like a large mansion with a garden in front and a fountain in the middle of the driveway. To be honest her house was much grander than the façade in front of her. Yet there was grandeur in it like that of an opera house. Cassie took a deep breath. She let out a long sigh as she opened the door. The contract has been agreed on. Now, she needed to know that Pedro first before she tells him her plan. “This is it.” She said to herself. The loud classical music greeted her as she walked inside. Usherettes were waiting at the grand entrance. “Your name and ID miss?” A lady with a bobcat haircut asked her. Her nameplate had her name. “Dina” had a nice ring to it. The last name though it intrigued her. It was spelled like a foreign name “Vherdschen.” Cassie gave her ID and, “Cassandra Lopez, you can look it up my agent had called me earlier for a confirmation.” She spoke to Dina with conviction. Although in truth Pedro texted her the address only. The building’s interior was much nicer and very lively. There were carvings in the posts and paintings in the ceilings. The crowning on the wall and posts were like those roman temples. “No need Miss Cassandra. I already got your name on the list. Have a nice evening and I hope you participate in the auction tonight.” She gently smiled at Cassie as she guided her towards the lower floor. “Btw, my name is Dina Vherdschen (Vir-gin) if you need anything please ask any of the staff.” Just like that, Cassie went ahead and left her. She was internally giggling when she heard her spoke her full name. She scanned the surroundings to find her soon-to-be husband. As she entered a theater-like ballroom venue her eyes were drawn to the man on the stage. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized him. It was the guy that kissed her ages ago. In the corner of her eye, she then saw Pat waving at her. Cassie immediately walked towards him. He was very enthusiastic to find a familiar face even though they just talked on the phone. “How was the trip, Ms. Cassie?” Pat asked her. She was flattered at his gesture. “It was fine, I guess. Btw, who is that man on the stage?” She asked him but the guy was already gone and in his place was another person. “Who him? That is Raven one of our newest husbando. Do you like him?” Pat was trying to be friendly. “Oh no, not him. I mean the one before him. I think I know him from before.” She skipped the part that he kissed her. “Well, before him was Jude. Is that guy over there on the side talking to one of our staff?” Pat pointed out as he gently brushed the back of his palm. Cassie raised an eyebrow at him. He was like talking in a different language. “No, I meant the guy who looked serious with brown hair and a strong jawline.” She tried her best to describe him as clearly as possible but failed miserably. She was cursing herself about it. She was already close enough to know him. “Hi, beautiful.” A smooth-talking guy said from her back. Cassie looked back to find Pedro standing behind her. “Wow! You are much gorgeous up close. May I get you anything?” Pedro was laying it thick with her. She liked how he treated her with undivided attention and like his queen. “I am good, thanks. Did you know the guy who stood on the stage prior to this Raven guy?” Cassie was desperate. “Are you sure that is what you need? I am here for you.” Pedro then smiled wide and showed his cute dimple then winked at her. Yes, just a dimple on his right cheek. Cassie chuckled internally. Looked like she got a joker for a husband. She won’t get an answer from these two men. She had to look for it herself. “My, you are an expert with flirting huh? Tell me how many clients did you handle before me?” Cassie had no filter with her thoughts. She spoke her mind without considering the other person’s feelings. Pedro almost choked while he drank the wine. He coughed a bit spilling some droplets in his lips trickling towards his neck and down to his Adam’s apple. Cassie followed the droplet wishing she was it and her heart pounded while her breathing hastened. “Hello, anybody there?” Pedro waved his hand in front of Cassie. He was being cute again. It drew her attention back to his face. He showed that dimple once again. “Yes. Now, can you tell me his name? I know you that you know his name. Just tell me and I will agree to the contract.” She used her card with him. She was hoping that he did not know yet. “I will tell you but dance with me first.” Pedro offered her hand to him. Gentle as a feather, Cassie placed her palm on his hand. They proceeded on the dancefloor. At first, it was slow and steady as they studied each other’s rhythm. Pedro never spoke a word he just led her in a waltz. She was impressed at how he carried himself with pride and passion. As the music progressed, his movement mirrored the beat. He even dipped her once or twice. She was swept off her feet. “Does this mean you are accepting me to be your husbando?” Pedro asked her while he dipped her and his nose was almost touching hers as well. The moment he smiled was the moment she knew he was the perfect guy for the job. She nodded unable to say a word with her throat dry as the Sahara desert. He then lifted her and continued to dance until the music ended. By then, Cassie had already been swept off her feet. Now, she did not want him as a fake husband but to be a real one.
