Chapter 10. Red Hot

2445 Words
(Lucas) She was so close to his body and he could feel her everywhere around him. Soft, alluring, enticing. She smelled like warm sunshiny mornings and something in him stirred. Lust. Want. Everything he had kept locked for a while. Lucas wanted her at that moment, wanted her like nothing else. She was so soft, so lush and her body was made to torture and torment men. Torture and torment him. This is not going to end well. But he was not in a state to hear his own warning. She looked delicious and from the first moment he walked inside her home, he wanted to touch all of that soft, tempting skin. He had pretended that he hadn't been looking, because he was ashamed that even when he was flustered with Joel, that just one look at Tamara made his blood boil. It wasn't good for his health or his blood pressure or his heart. But she looked like temptation from hell and he wanted to burn with her. Hotter. Wilder. He licked his lips as he looked at her. "Luc..." She whispered as she looked into his eyes. Her gray eyes were darker... deeper... pulling him in. She licked her lips and gulped. Her eyes were burning with invitation. A touch. Just a touch and maybe then he wouldn't feel such a throbbing need. She looked soft and delicious. His fingers had a mind of their own—and as a neurosurgeon and a specialist in brain, he knew it was impossible, but still—as they reached her soft, red painted cheek. She gasped softly and Lucas went hard. s**t. He cursed himself. Why was his body acting so, so maddeningly wanton? He wasn't the kind of man who saw woman and just fantasized in his head. No. He was the kind of man who respectfully looked at woman, looked them in a way that wouldn't make them feel violated. Yes, he admired beauty, but he never craved with vulgar need to claim, touch. He wanted her. He craved her and it almost scared him. It almost scared him. He was not ready for giving her more than a night and Tamara... was she a one night kind of girl? But he couldn't stop himself from touching her. Maybe one kiss. One kiss and he would stop wanting to pull her under him and teach her everything he knew and learn everything she knew. He bent closer to her and her eyes were wide as she looked at him. She wasn't pulling away and it made him and his arousal ectastic. Just a day with her and he was becoming insane. But he would deal with his insanity later, when she wasn't in his arms, with her beautiful night sky eyes staring deep into him, begging him without words, as her succulent lips were parted in a soft welcome. But... he knew kissing her would come with price. It would not be just a kiss. The first kiss... they had shared, it took him a long, long time to forget that. If he kissed her now, he had to face the consequences, as well. But God, her eyes, full of warmed desire, it was muddling his brain. He was usually a rational man... but... The hell with the consequences. He pulled her closer and... the hell... Somewhere in the distance, a car honked and she startled and he pulled away. He cursed himself as he let out a disappointed growl before he turned away from her. The moment was gone. He should have just grabbed her and kissed her, without overthinking it. Now it was too late. "It is so cold. Let's go." He said. His voice was hoarse. He walked by her side and they crossed the rest of the road in disturbing silence, and Lucas cursed the damned car all the way to his house. What a bad, bad timing. *** His mom was already half asleep when Lucas pushed the door to his room open. She blinked guiltily as Joel cried next to her. Poor mom. "Mom, mom, you can go and sleep in your room." Joel was still crying and his mom looked worried. "I tried to give him milk, but he didn't want to drink." She looked at him with a sad look. "He must miss June." "He must." Lucas agreed. Whatever June was, she loved Joel, in her own way and she took care of him. "You should go and take some rest, mom. Tamara is here and she said she will help with Joel. She is in the kitchen, boiling some water for something. She didn't say why she needed it, but she looked like she knows what she is doing. So, just go and take rest, mom." Lucas said and stopped when he saw the smile in his mom's face. Her eyes shone in a way that made Lucas pause. She looked eager as she waited for Tamara. Lucas was almost sure what she was thinking and he shook his head. "No, mom." He said. "I am not-" "I know you, mom and you don't have to tell it out loud, but I can read your eyes. I know what you want and I don't think it is going to happen." "Why not? Tamara is amazing." "Go, mom. Just take rest and don't worry about anything. I will be alright, mom, I am a grown ass man." "And I still worry." His mom said at the exact same moment Tamara walked in with a bucket of warm water. "Tamara, thanks a lot, honey. You are an angel." His mom said as she rubbed her eyes and yawned. "Oh, how could you see, Mrs. Turner? I even left my wings back at home." Tamara laughed softly and Lucas swore inside. When she laughed like that, it made something in his stomach flutter and twist. Suddenly he was very afraid to stay in the room with her, alone. What if he pushed her against the bed and kissed her until he forgot her and everything else about her? What if... Stop. Your son... what kind of father are you?! Tamara put the small bucket down as she picked up a still wailing Joel. Joel snuggled closer to her, his wail instantly turning into a soft whisper. How the hell could she do that? Does she have some magic? She gently rocked Joel in her hands and she looked like what she was doing. How did she know it as if this was an instinct? His mother looked at the scene with wonderment and longing. Lucas was surprised, too. They had tried a lot, a lot to console Joel for an hour and here the little one was, instantly turning into a docile creature with just a touch from Tamara. "Good night, Tamara. Thanks again." His mom said as she smiled at Tamara and then sighed before she turned and left. "Grab some towels." Tamara said to him as Joel continued to sniffle. Lucas did as he was told. "Now wet the towel with the warm water, but not fully." "What are we doing?" "Just something to calm him down." "How can warm water calm him down?" "He has mild fever." Tamara said in a hushed tone so as not to agitate Joel. "Also warm water can soothe him. It is like body heat, only turned a little higher." "But I checked." Lucas said with a small frown. She nodded. "Must be after you checked. It must have been just uncomfortable for him before the fever. He also misses his mom. Just because he can't say it out loud, doesn't mean he can't feel it." Tamara said as she grabbed a dry towel and placed it on the bed and put Joel down. The boy who had stopped wailing started again. She hurriedly removed Joel's onesie as his wail grew louder. "Oh. You don't want to stay in bed, huh?" Tamara smiled as she picked Joel back in her arms. "Luc, wrap the towel around him." She ordered and Lucas gave her a look. She was snuggling Joel closer to her breast and how the hell should he wrap the wet towel around Joel without touching something he shouldn't be touching? He looked at her and she frowned. "What? Don't just stand and stare. Warm towel, wrap. You are a doctor, aren't you?" She whispered Of course, he was a doctor, but with her in the way, with her T-shirt that was loose on her body, and trousers that showed her creamy thighs, how could he be clinical? Don't touch her... do not. You are not a damn p*rvert! He tried so hard to wrap the towel around Joel without doing anything inappropriate. He pulled the towel with one finger and Tamara huffed impatiently. "What are you doing? I don't have any contagious disease, doctor Turner." She hissed. "You think I am worrying about any disease you might or might not have, right now?" He said in a dark whisper and her eyes found his as she looked down at his hand, which was now closer to her soft breast. "Oh." Her mouth went round and her gray eyes went wide and for a second he saw the flash of want in her eyes, before she pushed Joel a little bit away from herself and Lucas' hands trembled as he finished wrapping the warm towel around Joel. His fingers touched her hand as he finished wrapping and he let it stay there for a second, enjoying her softness before he pulled his hand away. She looked up at him and bit her lips and his eyes were glued to her lips. "Don't do that." He ordered in a hoarse voice and she looked startled. "Okay." She whispered softly as she sat down in the rocking chair that was on the side of the bed, with Joel in her arms. In the moonlight streaming through the windows, she looked like a seductive call. She looked like a million sleepless nights spent in dreams of desire. Her hair was in a messy bun and some of her hair fell down her back in teasing ringlets, showing her lean, white neck that begged to be touched, kissed, bitten. She took his breath away, even in the ratty clothes just as she did in the dark red dress when he first saw her after years in the cafe next to his hospital. She hummed a song under her breath and Joel's wailing reduced a little bit. She motioned to Lucas to come closer and he sighed. This was going to be a long, long, torturous night. He walked closer and she signed him to unwrap the towel. He did as she asked, his fingers again sliding across the soft skin of her hands. She gasped with each touch and he sighed with each touch. She put Joel back in the bed and tugged the baby blanket around him, cocooning him inside the warm, fuzzy blanket. She placed the pillows on the side and Joel snuggled closer to the pillows. Lucas breathed out a sigh of relief. He wasn't sure how she knew all these things, but she was marvelous. She bent down and pressed a kiss on Joel's forehead and then she turned towards him and all his sane thought went out the window. Her T-Shirt had turned flimsy from the wet towel and he could see the outline of her bra. Soft and tempting, he could see it and even when he knew it was so wrong, even when he wanted to look away, he couldn't. His mouth went dry, his tongue stuck to the roof his mouth and his pulse went faster and faster. He felt like his heart was exploding inside his chest. He felt himself harden at the sight of her beautiful body. Impossibly hard. F*ck... he swore under his breath. In a flash, he was closer to her and she looked startled for a second and then her eyes widened when she realized where he was looking at. "Oh." She muttered as she looked down at herself and her cheeks turned bright red. "If you are saying no, you should quickly turn away from me." He grunted under his breath. It was even hard to talk right now for him. If she said no, he had to spend a lot of time under the cold shower and he would forever regret this moment of impulsiveness, but every one of his restraint was broken right now and so the hell with regret. The hell with everything. She shivered a little, but she didn't turn away from him. Her eyes were burning as she looked into his eyes. "Tamara..." He moaned. "I said..." he grumbled the words and she gave him a smile that made him harder. The pain was too much, and if he didn't do something about it, he feared he might just die of the hard on. It should be a new one. Death by arousal. He was a grown man, dammit. He was not a damn teenager who couldn't control himself, but at this moment, he felt like a teenager and it was so wrong, so bad, but...oh, oh, she looked so tempting, like a siren song. She called to his madness, his lustful need. "I know. I heard it." She whispered as she took a step closer to him. If she took another step, her soft breasts would be pressed against his hard chest. Oh, how much he wanted that, he needed that, even when he knew it was absolutely, amazingly wrong. But he was so damn hungry for her. For her lips, that looked plump and pouty. For her body that was so lush and delicious. He hadn't kissed a woman in so long. He hadn't thought of kissing women in so long. But at this exact moment, there was no other thought in his head except kissing this sinfully tempting woman. She looked like an innocent yet provocative art and every cell in his body was groaning for her. Loud. Louder. It was an incessant call and he wanted to get lost in the soft curves of her body and never wanted to be found. "So why are you-" He groaned as she bit her lips and stared at him with her inviting eyes. She was tempting him to do everything he wanted and oh, he wanted. He wanted all of her. "Because I am not saying no, Lucas." She said as she pushed her fingers through his hair and he groaned around. "Oh, damn Tammie." "Touch me, Luc." "Gladly." ___
