MEETING

Skylar parked her car and walked towards the gallery, she had a business-like suite pants on with dark bule thin strap silk top, she held her matching jacket in one hand and purse in the other hand. Skylar walked into the gallery there were about two others of the artist here plus the assistant she looked towards the assistant Shirley when she heard a wolf whistle, she knew it was Greg, he was a bit flirty during the party.

“Is Ethan in the office?” Skylar said.

“In the back” Shirley said.

“Okay the other ladies here yet?” Skylar asked.

“Not yet” Shirley said.

“Where does the meeting take place?” Skylar said.

“I can show you if you like” Shirley said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

Skylar followed Shirley as they walked to a room a few feet beside the front desk, Skylar went in and took a seat.

“You need anything?” Shirley said.

“Water for now” Skylar said.

“Okay” Shirley said.

Shirley went out of the room, Skylar yawn out she been tired a lot this weekend but she needed to be here so she decided that she will sleep on the trip back home, she took her phone out and saw an email from Ava the reporter.

[Hello Ms. Williams,

          I would like to know if we can schedule the interview four months from now, if that would be fine with you since I will be interviewing your co-workers first, just send me an email on where to meet at. If you would like to be interviewed at your workplace in San Antionio gallery or at your studio if you do a agree a month before my assistant will go and scout your area of studio. She will give you all the information on what we will be doing and the list of question I want to ask if you want to answer any personal question as well. This will be only a magazine interview for the Texas gallery magazine and as well as the San Antonio news. I would like to hear back from you.

Skylar wrote to her back telling her it was okay for the interview and that she will look over the question and decided on the personal question as well as her address where her workshop is at and would like a date and time as well. Skylar waited for about a few more minutes till the other artist came into the small meeting room and Shirley passed around some drinks.

“Hello guys how was everybody doing this morning” Ethan said.

“Well, I feel like s**t” Greg said.

“Well, you had to many” Gloria said.

“Whatever” Greg said.

“Okay let us get started” Ethan said.

He passes around files to them around the table before he sat back down, Skylar open hers and found out that she sold most of her work some went as high as two million and had at least ten people wanting her to do some work from her.

“Okay so, after the night ended a big provider came to be and he wanted all of you to do a collage an artwork from each of you” Ethan said.

“How is that going to work?” Greg said.

“Are you talking about a tree collage” Skylar said.

“What the hell is a tree?” Robert said.

“Man, guys are dumb” Gloria said.

“A tree is where the welder does the tree like and the other artist adds their work doesn’t matter if it’s pottery, painting, sculpture, heat glass, it all ends up on the tree the only tricky part is the tree has to be imitating the welded tree” Hope said.

Everybody nodded their heads.

“Lucky for you guys you have a welder” Ethan said.

“Don’t look at me” Robert said.

“What did the guy say exactly?” Skylar asked.

“Something fancy, they would like the heat glass crystal you made for that small chandler” Ethan said.

“Yeah, but I would need to come up with the tree idea it just can’t be mine” Skylar said.

“Okay, you can all put that aside your other clients and work on this one” Ethan said.

“I would need to buy more metal materials or if any you have metal at your studio’s you can just send them to me along with how you would want the tree to be and which section” Skylar said.

“Why not draw for the section” Gloria said.

“I think I would like that” Hope said.

“Couldn’t we just go back to your place and work on that” Robert said.

“Yeah, but would she have the materials that we have at her place?” Greg said.

“Do you want a list of what I have there? I do have a pottery and heat glass upstairs and the painting and photographer along with welding machine on the first floor” Skylar said.

“What about the pottery stove? Or clay?” Gloria said.

“I built one in the back door” Skylar said.

“Well, we’d need to at least go home and get our clothes and some supplies along with any metal we find and ship them” Greg said.

“So, are you okay with having visitors?” Ethan said.

“I don’t mind I have about six rooms, my mom has the bottom room and I have the master room and the baby room only they don’t have beds yet” Skylar said.

“How many bathrooms?” Robert asked.

“The upstairs has one, but the master has its own, the bottom floor has two bathrooms is one connected to my mom’s room and the other separated. Also, I have grill out back.” Skylar said.

“Where do you live?” Hope said.

“Marble Falls about an hour and half away from here” Skylar said.

“Well, s**t am I the only one that lives out of state” Greg said.

“So, will you guys be staying at Skylar’s place?” Ethan said.

“Might as well the faster we finish, and we can start on the other clients” Gloria said.

“So, we will all met up in a week enough time for the metal’s to be ship” Robert said.

“Yes, how long do you think we would need to stay there?” Hope asked.

“I would say a month he really wants it to be done quick” Ethan said.

“Okay, let’s do the draw first” Gloria said.

Ethan wrote down the sections on the tree and place them in a bowl mixing them around and pass the bowl to Gloria first.

“Bottom section” Gloria said.

She slid the bowl to Hope, who place her hand in and grab one.

“Top section” Hope said.

She gave the bowl to Skylar as she took the bowl and grab a paper out and read it out loud.

“Middle top” Skylar said.

Skylar gave the bowl to Robert as he took out the paper.

“Middle” Robert said.

“Guess that leaves me bottom middle” Greg said.

“Okay, it’s settled. I will need to call Ava and tell her to hold off on the interview on all of you for at least a month until you all finish the work. That will be the end of the meeting see you all in a month” Ethan said.

“Here is my address” Skylar said.

She wrote down her address along with email and phone number down and each gave them to them.

“See you all in a week” Skylar said.

They all said their goodbyes, and Skylar went towards the door.

“Wait the room assignments?” Hope said.

“Well, the girls can be upstairs with me and you boys can have downstairs. I will get beds set in their for you all with drawers” Skylar said.

“I’m fine with air mattress” Gloria said.

“Just email what your fine with and I can set it up for you” Skylar said.

“Okay” Hope said.

Skylar finally left the gallery and made her way back to the hotel her mother and Jacob were still there she came in and sat down by her mother.

“How was it?” her mother asked.

Jacob leans forward to listen.

“We will be having guest next week, a client wants us to do a tree which is basically putting all the artist collage together and Ethan, with the rest of us thought it would be better if were all under one roof to do the work. So, we need to buy some beds the guys will take downstairs and the girls upstairs, we have to put the baby room on hold for now” Skylar said.

“It’s fine, we haven’t known what the baby is yet” Jacob said.

“Well as long as I get my garden home before then” her mother said.

“They should be almost finished they started last week and when we left, they were putting the glass windows” Skylar said.

“You ladies ready to go home?” Jacob said.

“Yes” Skylar said.

“Come on girls” Jacob said.

Their things are pack as they went out of the hotel, once Skylar was settled in the ride, she fell asleep. When Skylar woke up, they just now drove into Marble Falls.

“Morning sleepy head” Jacob said.

Skylar smiled and hummed out.

“Was quite a nap sweetie you even sorned” her mother said.

“Yeah, I think baby is making me sleepy” Skylar said.

“Tell me about it when I was pregnant with you. I would have major morning sickness and close to the end of the I would want to sleep all the time your father would have to keep me awake just to do things.” Her mother said.

“My mom said I was a pain in her behind when she was pregnant with her always moving around and only Grandpa Evan would help me settled down” Jacob said.

“Yeah, Grandpa Evan was mean” Skylar chuckled.

“I still get chills just thinking about him” Jacob said.

“You two, were the terrible two growing up of course, Grandpa Evan would be mean” Lily said.

“We were not that bad” Skylar said.

Lily and Jacob laughed out.

“Okay maybe just a little” Skylar said.

“Baby you blame Jacob for breaking your grandma’s cup tea and he was grounded for two days” Lily said.

“You knew about that?” Lily said.

“Please we all did but since Jacob didn’t say anything we decided to punish you two by not seeing each other thinking it would calm you down but nope” Lily said.

“Sorry to give you all trouble” Skylar said.

“I just wish the grandbaby doesn’t do that” Lily said.

“Not a chance” Jacob said.

“Right!” Skylar said.

“Let’s get something to eat before we head home” Lily said.

“How about a sit down” Skylar said.

“Okay, oh what about Mexican” Jacob said.

“I don’t mind some tequila” Lily said.

“Yeah, Jacob has to take the shots for us” Skylar said.

“Don’t forget the little one as well” her mother said.

“Williams’s girls can’t live with them but can’t live without them” Jacob said.

“You know it” Skylar said.

Lily and Skylar laughed as Jacob drove towards the Mexican Restaurant as they parked and went inside, they were seated down.

“Can we have four shots of tequila” Skylar said.

“Okay anything else to drink?” the waiter said.

“I will have a pink lemonade” Skylar said.

“I’ll have the same” Lily said.

“And I will have a beer from the tap Dos Equis” Jacob said.

“Okay, I will bring you back with your drinks” the waiter said.

The lady left, the three looked at the menu a few moments later the water came back with their drinks placing it down on the table for them.

“Are you ready to order?” the waiter said.

“Yes, I will have the bigger plate with green chili” Lily said.

“I will take the fajitas with a side of Jalapeno and cheese” Jacob said.

“I will have the burrito no chili please” Skylar said.

“Okay, I will be back with your food” the waiter said.

Skylar slid the tequila towards Jacob and smiled, Lily did the same thing and smiled at him, Jacob sigh out.

“Frist to my little one” Jacob said.

Jacob took the shot, with the salt and Lime as Skylar and Lily cheered.

“Next for the lovely Mrs. Williams” Jacob said.

“Hear, hear” Lily said.

Jacob took the shot again.

“And to the baby mama the lovely Skylar Williams” Jacob said.

“Cheers” Skylar said.

Jacob took the shot he hissed out and made a whooping sound.

“And lastly to myself the papa bear and getting way over my head with you Williams’s girls” Jacob said.

“You love us!” Skylar said.

He takes the last shot, Skylar and Lily cheered for him.

“God, I feel drunk” Jacob said.

“No, you’re not” Skylar said.

“Your right” Jacob laughed.

The three talked for awhile as their food came, they ate and talked by hour and half later they were finished, and Jacob drove them home.

“I will see you tomorrow, and make sure take Jake with you to get the things you need” Skylar said.

“No problem papa bear, good night” Skylar said.

Jacob had finished bringing in their luggage for them and he went back to his home, Lily went to her room and Skylar went to hers as well she took a long bath before getting out putting her PJ’s on and getting into bed. Skylar did not wake up till nine the next morning, she put on some shorts and tank top tie her hair up in a messy bun washed her face and brushed her teeth and made her way downstairs.

“Morning momma” Skylar said.

“Hey baby, I left some food for you in the microwave” her mother said.

“Okay, did you see the green house yet?” Skylar asked.

She grabbed her plate and sat down.

“Yes, they are working on the window roof now along with the wires that can open it. It looks so beautiful from the outside I can’t wait for the inside” her mother said.

“And I can’t wait to see your face when you see it” Skylar said.

“Thank you, baby I am so happy your home” her mother said.

“Me too mom” Skylar said.

“You finish eating and I’ll call in Jake for you” her mother said.

“He’s working outside?” Skylar said.

“No, I asked him to give them drinks” her mother said.

Skylar nodded her head and began eating as her mother went out of the house Skylar kept eating until she had finished the food and cleaned up her plate and her mother came back into the house with Jake behind her.

“Hey Jacob said you needed me today” Jake said.

“Yes, we will be going shopping today” Skylar said.

“You know the baby’s s*x” Jake said.

“No, I will have visitors next week and I need to be nice and give them beds and all that stuff for the rooms” Skylar said.

“Oh, okay then” Jake said.

“Come on let’s go” Skylar said.

Skylar grab her wallet and put on her shoes grabbing her truck keys by the door, she looked towards the green house and saw them working on it.

“Looks nice right” Jake said.

“Better than I imagine” Skylar said.

“Come on” Jake said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

“Should we hook up the flatbed, so we don’t have to go back and forth” Jake said.

“Yeah” Skylar said.

Skylar and Jake hooked up the flat bed to the truck and they were off, when they got to the furniture store there were lots, she got the girls beds first and two dressers.

“Okay, Jake you need to help me pick out two beds for two grown men” Skylar said.

“Me? I still have my bed bunks” Jake said.

“What? Are you serious?” Skylar said.

“I was joking black would go well with everything” Jake said.

“Alright let’s get started” Skylar said.

Skylar and Jake went around looking for the beds she got them it was only the twins bed nothing else nothing to big and some dressers for them as well one each, they workers help Jake put them in the truck for them.

“Where to know?” Jake asked.

“How many workers were there?” Skylar said.

“About thirty-five” Jake said.

“Okay, let’s get them some food” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jake said.

Skylar and Jake went to a burger place and order about forty burgers with drinks and drove back to the house, when they got there Skylar told Jake to go tell them to come over, so Jake ran over to them. Skylar place the drinks and burgers on the hood as the workers came over and stood in line as she passed them out to them as they said there thanks to her.

“Thank you, guys,” Skylar said.

Skylar went into the house with the remaining food.

“Mom I brought us some food” Skylar said.

“Lunch, did you feed the workers?” her mother asked.

“Yeah, I did” Skylar said.

Skylar and her mother ate the food with Jake.

“Jake the black beds go in the downstairs and the white ones go upstairs” Skylar said.

“Okay, I will call one of my buddies see which one isn’t busy” Jake said.

“Okay, I’ll be in the garage” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jake said.

Skylar went towards the garage opening the garage door, she made the order of the metal she wanted for her middle piece, she then went to start on some small painting about five of them placed out in front of her. Skylar then looked at it for awhile then went upstairs and thought of doing the small crystal heat glass she would need to make a lot of them if they were going to be added to the tree and she knew that it will be a big tree, so she began. By an hour later she made about ten sets of the glass before she felt tired, she got up and went back downstairs and into the kitchen and got some water she drank about ten cups.

“You okay baby?” her mother said.

“Yeah, just got thirsty” Skylar said.

“I know what you need” her mother said.

Her mother went to her room, while Skylar grab some yogurt and fruits from the fridge and began to eat, she also poured herself another cup of water a few moments later her mother came back out with a gallon water bottle.

“Your father bought this when the doctors told us that I need to keep hydrated” her mother said.

“That is huge but thanks mom” Skylar said.

“I’ll fill up you finish eating” her mother said.

Skylar nodded her head she finished up her food and grab the gallon water bottle before going back into the garage again and doing some more heat glass.
