GOODBYE TREE

Skylar woke up she was hugging Avery, but she was still sleeping, she stretches out making Avery wake up.

“Morning” Avery whispered out.

“Why are you whispering?” Skylar said.

“Is everybody else sleeping?” Avery said.

“I don’t know, I just woke up” Skylar said.

“Just get a few more sleep” Avery said.

Avery pulled her close to him, and Skylar was shocked she did not know what to do but lucky for her they heard someone clear their throat, Skylar and Avery looked up and saw Jacob.

“Breakfast is ready” Jacob said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

“Alright” Jacob said.

Avery let Skylar go, she sat up and put her hair in a messy bun, Avery got up and help her up, but he did not let go of her hand, Skylar felt shy as she looked at the intertwine hands.

“What will you be doing today?” Avery asked her.

“Just some artwork, but I probably need to go into San Antonio Monday and find an agency to work with” Skylar said.

“What about tomorrow?” Avery said.

“Nothing probably rests for up to the afternoon and leave for San Antonio” Skylar said.

“Well, you want to grab Lunch before you leave?” Avery said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

Everybody was in the house they had breakfast as the men loaded up the tree Skylar and the girls watched as they load up.

“So, who’s the buyer?” Skylar asked.

“Just so big business guy in New York, I will introduce you guys later he also buys from the gallery in New York as well” Ethan said.

Once everybody left it was only Skylar and Jacob in the garage, she was setting up a new canvas for her painting she got about five orders, so she needed to get started.

“So? You and Avery” Jacob said.

“What about?” Skylar said.

“Are you guys dating?” Jacob said.

“No, why would you say that?” Skylar said.

“Just the chemistry between you two this morning and the way he looks at you” Jacob said.

“What do you mean?” Skylar said.

“Sky-Bear I swear sometimes you don’t even look sometimes, it’s the look he gave you when you guys were dating” Jacob said.

“Ah what! One we didn’t date we were just each other’s first and second it was a lust look in high school” Skylar said.

“I think you need glasses girl, that boy is head over heels with you” Jacob said.

“I will see for myself on our date” Skylar said.

“So, it’s a date?” Jacob said.

“A lunch date” Skylar said.

“Well, I want to go” Jacob said.

“No, you have work, and I would need to do this on my own and see what you are talking about” Skylar said.

“Just please kiss him” Jacob said.

“We did last night” Skylar said shyly.

Jacob eyes widen and gasp out looking at her.

“I was nervous, and my brain was screaming yes but my heart was like push him away and before I knew it, he kissed me and I gasped out and that stop, it was just like a quick one but felt like forever” Skylar said.

“I have no advice for you on that, but I have a feeling that’s a good thing you’re feeling something, was it scared nervous or giggle nervous?” Jacob said.

“Nervous like it’s my first-time kind of kiss” Skylar said.

“Ah babe but was the kiss good in that few seconds” Jacob said.

“Ehh, like I said it was quick I will try it out, would that make you feel better?” Skylar said.

“Well, it you don’t want too then you don’t need too” Jacob said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

“Let me get us some food while you paint” Jacob said.

“Okay pizza and wings, and can I have soda?” Skylar asked.

“No, sorry babe but I can get you lemonade” Jacob said.

“Okay fine with me” Skylar said.

“Anything else maybe some ice cream?” Jacob said.

“Yes! And get some of the waffle cups dip and non-dip also sprinkles too” Skylar said.

“Okay, I’ll be back babe” Jacob said.

Skylar nodded her head, as Jacob left and Skylar began working on the first painting, she would wipe her hands on her overalls with nothing but paint stains on it all over her on her arms, her face, neck and chest area.

“Is any of that paint going on the board in front of you?” Avery said.

Skylar place the paint brush down and saw him come towards her.

“What are you doing here?” Skylar asked.

“I wanted to know if you wanted to grab lunch” Avery said.

“Oh, um Jacob is actually bringing back some food” Skylar said.

“Oh, guess I am a few hours late” Avery said.

“You can join us if you want, just not the ice cream” Skylar said.

“Okay, so what are you painting” Avery said.

“A client wanted something elegant” Skylar said.

“That I don’t see it” Avery said.

Skylar chuckled out and flip the canvas over and Avery took a step back, Skylar joined him.

“I see it now” Avery said.

“I couldn’t find my smearing brush so that’s why all these paint on me” Skylar said.

“I can see your fingers” Avery said.

“There right here” Skylar said.

Skylar touch his face, and she laughed as some of the paint went on him.

“Oh, you’re going to get it” Avery said.

Skylar scream and was about to run but Avery grabs her, wrapping her arms around her and rub his face on her putting back some of the paint on her.

“Avery” Skylar chuckled out.

“Food is…..oh” Jacob said.

“Hey, did you get the waffle cups” Skylar said.

“Yeah, I got you all different kinds. Hey, Avery are you joining” Jacob said.

“Yeah” Avery said.

“Well, you guys need to clean yourself off” Jacob said.

Skylar nodded her head, and went to the sink and washed her hand, Avery joined her, Jacob set up the food as they sat around, Jacob places the chairs a little be close for Avery and Skylar. Skylar notice and shoot him a look and then sat down as they began eating Skylar took about three of the pizza, and they are mostly all the wings then she had the ice cream, the guys were looking at her with wide eyes.

“Thanks Jacob, now back to work” Skylar said.

Skylar took her drink, and began painting, the guys looked at each other as they were barley getting on their second slice of pizza.

“It’s the baby, you should see her when I tried to have some ice cream” Jacob said.

“The wild n’ reckless?” Avery said.

“Yeah” Jacob said.

“Yeah, I remember” Avery said.

“Watch this. Hey, Sky-Bear can I have some ice cream” Jacob said.

Jacob was reaching for the ice cream, but a paint brush hit his hand.

“No” Skylar said.

Jacob mouthed a sorry and pull his hand back, Avery chuckled out the two talked as the rest of the afternoon as Skylar was painting, by evening time she was finished.

“Looks good” Jacob said.

“It sure does” Avery said.

“Thanks guys now, can we get something to eat?” Skylar said.

“Sure babe, Avery are you coming?” Jacob said.

“Yeah, sure why not” Avery said.

“Let me change and see if my mom wants to come” Skylar said.

The guys nodded their head as Skylar went in the house but first went to her room taking a quick shower then changing her clothes leaving her hair down to dry. Then went to go see her mother was still at the garden center so, she went inside as her mother was helping the ladies around and went towards her.

“Were going to get something to eat but seems like your busy” Skylar said.

“Yeah, just bring me something back I might be running late” her mother said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

Skylar went back to where the guys were at by the garage waiting for her.

“She’s busy with the ladies” Skylar said.

“Okay we can just get her something” Jacob said.

“Where too?” Avery said.

“I want some beer, so the bar?” Jacob said.

Skylar gave him a are you serious look.

“What they also have the best burgers” Jacob said.

“Fine” Skylar said.

“We can take your car” Avery said.

Skylar took her keys out of her purse as they all got into the car, and Jacob gave her which bar they would be going too.

“You do know you both can’t get really drunk” Skylar said.

“We won’t” Jacob said.

“Or I swear I’ll leave you in the car” Skylar said.

“You wouldn’t” Avery said.

“Your right, I can just have Jake and his friends throw you both in the river in the back of the house” Skylar said.

“You’re not going to do that” Jacob said.

“Your right, I could just leave you at the bar” Skylar said.

“Don’t worry I know the owner” Avery said.

Skylar and Jacob looked at him.

“What, I live above the bar” Avery said.

Skylar and Jacob nod their heads, they get their and park the car as they make their way inside the bar, they went inside and it was in full swing, the three stood at the door.

“Come on” Avery said.

Avery took Skylar’s hand, as they made their way into the bar they were able to find a booth near the bar.

“Who knew it would be this pack” Avery said.

“It is a Saturday night” Jacob said.

“I just want to eat” Skylar said.

Avery looked towards the bar and saw one of the works, so he raised his hand up signaling them to come over, which they did.

“Drinks or drinks and food” the waitress said.

“Both” Jacob said.

“Okay, I will bring your menu over and for now what about drinks” the waitress said.

“I’ll take a blue moon from tap” Avery said.

“I’ll take the same” Jacob said.

“Just pink lemonade for me and water on the side no ice” Skylar said.

“Okay, and I will be right back with the drinks and menu” the waitress said.

The waitress left as the three were sitting.

“Oh great” Jacob said.

“What?” Skylar said.

Avery was sitting beside Skylar his arm was place behind her on the arm rest.

“Donna” Jacob whispered.

A few moments later, Donna came over with some girls.

“Skylar, Jacob, and Avery. Hello surprise to see you three here” Donna said.

“Donna” Skylar said.

“Hello Donna” Avery and Jacob said.

“So, what brings you guys out?” Donna said.

“Celebrating, Avery and Skylar are having a baby” Jacob said.

Skylar looked at Jacob with wide eyes and gave him a kick under the table which made her look at her and smile.

“Sorry, thought we were telling people. Right? Avery?” Jacob said.

Avery cleared his throat.

“Wow, a baby” Donna said.

“No, that’s what- “Skylar was saying but got cut off.

“I have two blue moon, water and pink lemonade for the lady” the waitress said.

Skylar wanted to smack her head, but she just smiled and said her thank you.

“Here are your menu’s” the waitress said.

The lady left, and Skylar did not want any trouble she was about to say something, but Donna and her group of friends left.

“You’re an ass” Skylar said.

“Yeah, but you love me. Sorry Avery” Jacob said.

“It’s fine at least now she doesn’t have to harass me, you actually did me a favor” Avery said.

“See, he’s okay with it” Jacob said.

“You both are idiots” Skylar said.

Skylar shook her head as she looked at the menu a few moments later the waitress came back they all ordered burgers with extra fries for Skylar.

“Okay, so you are leaving tomorrow and since I can’t take you will you be fine?” Jacob asked.

“I will be fine, besides it’s just for one day” Skylar said.

“Are you sure, you want to come back after just that one day” Avery said.

“I will be okay and if I do get into trouble, I can always call the both of you” Skylar said.

“Probably Avery, taking on the case for Robert has kind of pilled up my other work so I will be busy this week from morning to evening” Jacob said.

“Yeah, but you did the right thing. Reuniting a father and daughter together” Skylar said.

“Yeah, you did the right thing Jacob” Avery said.

“Thanks guys” Jacob said.

“Here are your orders” the waitress said.

She came and placed the food down for them, as they began to eat dinner.

“Remember to get one to go for my mom” Skylar said.

“When she brings another round” Jacob said.

“Have you guys thought of baby names yet?” Avery said.

“We are thinking Henry for a boy and a girl Everlyn” Skylar said.

“Well, that sound nice and here I thought you would both go with one of the characters from Star Wars or Harry Potter that you guys would always dress as during Halloween” Avery said.

Skylar and Jacob laughed out.

“That would be the baby room” Skylar said.

“Yes, we were thinking Harry Potter and Star Wars for the boy and for the girl just a Harry Potter theme” Jacob said.

“That sounds sweet, you can do the death star and the falcon hanging from the ceiling” Avery said.

“That sounds badass” Jacob said.

“Okay boys, you ready to go?” Skylar asked.

“Three more rounds” Jacob said.

Skylar looked at the two, as they were both looking at her.

“I will order some more food” Skylar said.

“Yes” Jacob and Avery said.

Skylar rolled her eyes, as she called for the waitress who came by and took her order on the food, she wanted which were more fries and wings with another round of drinks.

“To Skylar” Jacob said.

“For?” Skylar asked.

“For coming home and coming back in our lives” Avery said.

“Right, yes” Jacob said.

Skylar chuckled, and they all raised their glasses giving a cheer.

“Okay you guys now ready to go?” Skylar asked.

“Yeah, I got the check” Jacob said.

The waitress came back with the check and Jacob paid they got the to go food and they left back to Skylar’s home.

“Okay there are still bed in the rooms that you two can take” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

Skylar showed them the rooms, she then went to her room got in the shower she took her time getting ready for bed when she was finally finished, she laid in bed trying to fall asleep the room was dark, but she was still thinking. Skylar then laid flat as she was looking up towards the ceiling, she yawns out next thing she heard a small knock on the door she pushed herself up on her elbows.

“Come in” Skylar said.

“Hey” Avery whispered.

Avery went towards her and laid down beside her, Skylar was a bit shocked but let him lay down by her and went straight to running his hand through her hair.

“Couldn’t sleep?” Avery said.

“Yeah, but this feels nice” Skylar said.

“What’s on your mind?” Avery said.

“A lot, the baby, the modeling and work” Skylar said.

“What’s wrong with Pea?” Avery said.

“The doctor wants to do a blood test when it’s a few months older and see if they have the cancer gene or not and it’s really scary” Skylar said.

“Wow, I have no advice about that, but I know the baby will be fine because it has you as a mother and you are brave and strong” Avery said.

“Thank you, Avery,” Skylar said.

“You’re welcome, get some sleep and relax” Avery said.

Skylar nodded her head, she slowly leans into his body as he was running his hand softly into her hair, and soon she fell asleep. By the next Skylar woke up she had a bit of energy, she slowly stretches out and turn to her side and the space beside her was empty, so she got up from her bed went into the restroom fixed her hair and put her clothes on. She came back out and had to at least pack some clothes in case they would want her to try some clothes or do some pictures, when she was finally done packing, she took her suitcase down the stairs.

“Morning baby” her mother said.

“Morning mom” Skylar said.

“What time are you leaving?” her mother asked.

“After lunch” Skylar said.

“When will you be back?” her mother said.

“The same day already made at least two appointments” Skylar said.

“I thought you were just going to do one?” her mother said.

“I am I have an appointment with Ethan after to go over the working schedule and I have to drop of one the painting I finished for a client” Skylar said.

“Okay, have some breakfast” her mother said.

Skylar nodded her head, a few moments later the two boys came out of the rooms, Skylar was surprise that Avery went back to his room.

“Morning” Jacob said.

“Morning” Skylar said.

“What is the plan for today?” Avery said.

“I am already pack and ready to go” Skylar said.

“When will you be leaving?” Jacob said.

“After lunch, kind of promise someone a lunch date” Skylar said.

Skylar smiled and looked at Avery and he smiled back at her; Jacob was looking at the two.

“Okay well I have to spend the day in the office and make sure you call me when you get there” Jacob said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

The two guys went home, and Skylar went to put her things in the car then back into the house cleaning up a bit and doing a few chores her mother was in the garden house already she has a morning and evening class that she does. Skylar knows her mother loves working in the garden house, Skylar checked on the flowers around the home watering it then once she was finished, she went inside did a quick clean up. Skylar went to the green house she saw her mother talking so she did a hand gestures to her and her mother nodded at her, Skylar then went to the car and called Avery.

“Where do you want to meet at?” Skylar said.

“What are you in the mood to eat for?” Avery said.

“Olive Garden?” Skylar said.

“Okay, meet you there” Avery said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

Skylar drove to Olive Garden; she was the first to arrive there, so she was able to sit down and wait for only a few seconds when Avery came in.

“Sorry, I saw you walk in was hoping to see if we can walk in together” Avery said.

“I didn’t know, I just thought you were already here.” Skylar said.

“Yeah were a few minutes out I just went slow thinking you were going to be awhile from home” Avery said.

“I called when I was leaving” Skylar said.

“Well, what would you like to eat I kind of want the salad here” Avery said.

“I love their salad and Shrimp Alfredo” Skylar said.

“Isn’t it bad to eat seafood while pregnant?” Avery said.

“Not really it has some omega three in there well the salmon, but I can still have the shrimp” Skylar said.

“Okay, what’s your agenda tomorrow?” Avery said.

“Meeting with the agency in the morning and then have to meet with Ethan after and go over the schedule for my work” Skylar said.

“Nice, when will you be back?” Avery said.

“I should be back that same day but if it gets too late, I will spend the night” Skylar said.

“I think you should spend the night” Avery said.

Skylar smiled and nodded her head; the waitress came they ate as they talked about other stuff.

“So, when will you be working at the school?” Skylar asked.

“August first will be the first practice” Avery said.

“How many players?” Skylar said.

“You were cheer captain, and you still don’t know how many players are?” Avery said.

“I was busy teaching a team” Skylar laughed out.

“Well, I have 32 players” Avery said.

“And you’re the head coach?” Skylar asked.

“Yes” Avery said.

“I have to get going, before I get there late” Skylar said.

“Okay. Would you want to have another date?” Avery asked.

“Okay” Skylar said.

Skylar smiled at him, and Avery help her opening her door and Skylar waved goodbye to him as she drove off to San Antonio.
