The Unknown Alpha

Chapter 7

{Kaly’s POV}

    The last couple days have been amazing. The night of the campfire, Maddox and I had several rounds of “fun”. At around 4 am he went back to his tent and when we all got up the next day no one even had a clue we spent the night together. ‘Thank the Goddess.’

    But everyone was all abuzz to talk about Garrett and Lylah staying together. When she came out the tent the next morning and had to lean on Garrett to walk, we all giggled a little. Not to mention she had the “just f****d” glow.

    They have been inseparable since. I don’t know how I know, but I think they are mates. They complement each other perfectly. She is loud and opinionated, and he is quiet and reserved, perfect balance if you ask me.

    Today is Valentine’s day and everyone is excited for their dates. My mom is being a little bitchy today. We head out for school with her hawk eyes on all of us. Lylah walks up to us and smiles. “Oh I see there isn’t going to be room for me?” Lylah frowned and we all looked and realized she wants to ride with us. “Well we could take separate cars today.” I shrug.

    “Or we can take my Yukon. I don’t mind.” Garrett suggested and we all nodded in approval. I mean we all have cars or in Maddox’s case a motorcycle. “I’m fine with that.” Jacob shrugs and we all head to the garage.

    We pile in the Yukon, Maddox and I take the back seat, and Jacob and Sara take the middle seat. “No funny business back there.” Jacob yells looking over his shoulder. Garrett starts the truck up and we are on our way.

    We arrive at school and it is fully decorated with Hearts and streamers. “Wow the student council went all out.” I laugh, causing everyone else to laugh. We walk into the school two open couples and one secret couple. Maddox walks with me to my locker. “Today is going to be tough.” Maddox pouts. “It’s just until tonight when we go out.” I look at his cute pout.

    “Fine. See your fine ass tonight.” He smiles and walks away from me. “Where are you going?” I’m the one pouting now. “To my locker. See you in a few minutes.” He responds with a wink. I just smile to myself at how cute my man is.

    We all walk to our first classes and we see all the Cupid Grams being brought in the room. I got two in every class so far, both from a secret admirer. I’m pretty sure one of them is Maddox, but my guess for the other is totally blank. ‘Maybe Tanner.’

    I’m on my way to lunch with Sara and Lylah, when the boys walk up and ask us how our day has been going. We walk and talk about how the day has gone so far. When we go into the cafeteria it’s decorated, and cute little center pieces are on all the tables.

    “Wow” Sara smiles and heads for the lunch line. We all follow suit and soon we are at our table eating. Maddox rests his arm on the back of my chair, and we all fall into comfortable conversation. I notice the principal leading a group of people into the cafeteria. One has a guitar, and one has a small drum. The principal looks to be searching the room.

    He spots me and points in my direction. ‘What the hell?’ I look around to see if maybe it’s someone behind us, but I couldn’t get that lucky. The group walks over asks which one of us is Kalysta. “Me.” I say looking shocked and the guy nods and they begin singing…

    ‘Kiss of Life- Sade’ I look around. “Maddox, nice dude.” Garrett said with a slap on the back and Jacob growls. A very confused looking Maddox looks over at me and I’m lost. ‘This wasn’t Maddox?’ I feel myself start to panic a little. “Who sent it?” I hear myself whisper as I shiver. I know I’m an Alpha’s daughter, but I don’t like being the center of attention.

    Maddox wraps me in a hug, and I realize I’m crying. ‘What is going on with me?’ I sniffle. ‘Who could this mystery person be?’ I shiver again. “Babe don’t panic. I’ll get to the bottom of it.” Maddox whispers in my ear and I nod up at him through my tears.

    We all hurriedly leave the cafeteria. Jacob leads us to an empty classroom. Once we were all inside Maddox sits me in a seat and sits in the chair next to me pulling me close to him. Jacob looks at him but says nothing. “So what are we going to do?” Sara is the first to speak. “I don’t know. Does anyone have a guess of who it could have been?”  Jacob asks clearly pissed.

    “I think I have a clue.” Maddox said sounding very angry. “Who?” Jacob snarls. “Tanner.” Maddox spat. “Well lets go ask good ol Tanner.” Garrett pipes up and the boys nod at each other. Sara takes Maddox’s spot and Lylah hops up and sits on the desk as the boys hurry out of the room.

    Minutes pass and they come back with a very scared Tanner. “Tell my sister.” Jacob demands in his Alpha tone. “S-sorry Kaly. I sent the C-Cupid grams for you today. But I s-swear I didn’t do the band thing.” Tanner is practically shaking in fear. “Get out.” Jacob snarls. I don’t know why but that makes me feel worse. Like if he didn’t do it, who did? If it were him at least I could go back to normal.

    This has my mind reeling about who the hell it could be. We hear the bell and decide to head to our classes. Maddox walks me to my class. “Tanner agreed to cancel your extra cupid grams for the rest of today. The only ones you should get for the rest of today will be from me.” He smiles and I nodded. He kissed my forehead and went to his class.

    I have been fine and now we are in the last class of the day. All seems to be going smooth, that is until the door opens and in walks a small lady with a vase of two dozen silver roses. ‘I never understood why they call them silver roses when they are a light purple color.’ I shrug to myself.

    “Kalysta Flores.” Mr. Johnson says, and I feel a lump form in my throat. “Yes?” I croak out. “These are for you sweetie. What a sweet admirer you have.” He states with a smile. “I’ll keep these up here until the end of the class.” He turns and continues teaching.

    ‘Help me Goddess.’ I feel so uncomfortable, but this is not nearly as bad as the lunch fiasco was. Not really anyone in class cared. Most didn’t even look up from their notes. Being in a school with human’s made life a little difficult at times, but we had werewolves that were teachers, and the principal was also a werewolf.

    The last bell finally rang, and I took my time gathering my things. I walked up to the front of the mostly empty class and grab the heavy vase and leave the class. I don’t go to my locker like I typically would, I head straight for the Yukon. I know Garrett left it unlocked.

    I hop in the back seat and let the warmth of the sun warmed truck chase the cold of the outside away. It’s cozy in here. I pull out my dinging phone and notice all the messages. They are all asking where I am in our group chat. I let them know I’m in the truck already, they come quickly to the truck wondering what’s wrong. As soon as they see the roses they know.

    “What the hell?” Jacob growls. Jacob looks super pissed, and I start to get a little worried. We drive home and Sara and I head to my room with the roses. The boys head off to see my dad. “I think their beautiful. And I worry about who sent them, but I won’t be throwing them out.” I say to Sara sitting the roses on my table next to my reading chair. “I don’t think I would throw them out either, they really are beautiful.” Sara smiles as she runs her hand across the tops of the roses. “What’s this?” She asks pulling a card from the roses.

    “To the most beautiful girl I’ve ever laid eyes on.” Sara reads the card before handing it to me. “What?” I gasp. This is really weird. I mean it is kind of sweet, but scary because I have no clue who it could be sending these things. “Alright well I’d love to stay and talk about all that…” She says pointing at the note. “but I have to go get ready for my date.” She smiles at me. “You need to get ready too. Are you gonna be alright?” She asks and I nod.

    Sara closes my door and I realize she is right I need to get ready for my date with Maddox. I scurry off into the bathroom to shower. After I dry off and wrap the towel around me, I do my hair in curls. I run some gel through my hair and head for the closet. I know we will be taking the motorcycle tonight, so I need to wear jeans. I’m gonna wear my black skinny jeans with wholes.

    ‘What shirt tho?’ I look around the closet. I go with a white V-neck t, with a yellow cardigan. I go back to the bathroom brush my teeth and blow dry some of the wetness out of my curls. I grab my white and yellow checkered Van’s and head downstairs.

    I walk into the kitchen and hop up on the barstool at the island. “Hello Kaly, dear. Would you like a snack?” Maddox’s Grandmother asks me. “No ma’am. But a water would hit the spot. Please.” I say and she nods and goes to the fridge retrieving a water bottle. “Thank you.” I say as she hands it to me, and she just smiles.

    Maddox comes in the back door and smiles at me. “You ready to go babe?” He asks and I smile up at him and jump down off the stool. “As I’ll ever be.” I respond and take his arm. “You two behave. Especially you Maddox.” Maddox’s Grandmother says giving us a stern look. “Ok Gramma.” He tells her and we walk out of the kitchen.

    We walk to the front door, past my mother and out the door. My father comes up behind us and says to be home before 10:30 since we all have a big day tomorrow. “Yes Alpha.” Maddox says with a smile. My dad walks in the house, but my mother stands and watches us.

    Maddox gets on the motorcycle and I look at my mom and smile. I pull my hair up in a messy bun and I get on the back and wrap my arms tightly around Maddox. I smile a big smile at my mother’s shocked face. She stomps and walks into the house, no doubt to go give my dad and ear full. ‘Sorry Daddy.’ I giggle to myself.

    Then with speed we are off and racing toward the city and the carnival. It’s 5:30 so the sun is starting the set and the sky is giving a beautiful glow. “The sky is almost as beautiful as you are.” I hear Maddox say as he parks the bike at the carnival. I blush at his sweet comment, and let my hair down.

    “So what do you want to do first?” Maddox ask with a smile and his big hand grasping mine. “I don’t care.” I shrug with an innocent smile. “Maybe rides.” I say wiggling my eyebrows hoping he catches my drift. “Oh, we will later, but for now we need to be seen here.” He winks at me and I blush again. I really love Maddox and I can’t imagine my life without him.

    “We’ll do some of the rides and then play some games.” I suggest with an excited smile. This is my first time at the carnival. Every year they come to town and dad never lets me go. I’m so excited, but I don’t want to look like a dork so I’m acting cool. “Ok babe whatever you want.” He smiles down and kisses my forehead.

    With that we were walking towards the ticket booth. Maddox paid for our wristbands that were unlimited riding passes. We rode any and every ride I wanted to go on. I love the Gravitron ride it was amazing and so fun. Not a huge fan of the Ferris wheel. Bumper cars were cool.

    We walked hand in hand to some of the game booths, but I notice a food stand and the smell was making my mouth water. “Maddox?” I ask. “Yeah babe.” He smiles at me with a wink. “What is a funnel cake?”  I ask a little too excited and Maddox laughs.

    “It’s super good. Stay right here. I’ll be right back.” He says running off toward the food stand. When he comes back, he has two paper plates with this weird looking cake like creation with powder sugar all over them. He hands me one of the plates and we walk to a table. He then hands me a fork. “Dig in.” He chuckles.

    Goddess, help me if it wasn’t the best thing I had tasted. “MMMMM This is heaven in my mouth.” I smile still chewing. Maddox throws his head back laughing at me and I just roll my eyes. We continue eating this heavenly cake. When we finished Maddox took the plates, forks, and napkins to the trash. When he comes back, he sticks out his hand for me to take, I do it gladly.

    We walk to a booth with bottles all over a table. “Ring toss?” I look at the lady. “Yes, you get 3 rings for $5 and if you ring a bottle, you get a prize.” She smiles sweetly at me and then looks at Maddox. “Would you like to go first big boy?” She says with a seductive tone and right then I wanted to kill this b***h. Maddox being Maddox looked her dead in the eye and said, “No I’ll let my girlfriend go first. Ladies first always anyway.” Leaning down he kisses my cheek.

    “Ok here’s your rings sweetie.” She smiles at me but makes no attempt to hide that is completely fake. I laugh to myself. ‘Serves her right for throwing herself at a guy who is clearly with someone.’ “Alright babe you got this.” I hear Maddox behind me.

    I throw all three and don’t make any. ‘ugh what the hell.’ I ask Maddox to let me have another shot. He pays and I try again. Again I have no luck. I look at Maddox in defeat and he hands the girl $20. “If you don’t make one of these, I might reconsider being your boyfriend.” He chuckles and I gasp at him and slap his arm, which makes him laugh. The girl places 12 rings in front of me. ‘Here goes nothing.’

    I’m standing here looking like a fool and I am down to my last ring and I am nervous. I close my eyes and toss it praying to the goddess for help. “We have a winner.” I hear the girl say. I open my eyes to see the ring is hanging around the top of the bottle. I squealed and jumped into Maddox’s arms. “You weren’t really gonna not be mine, right?” I ask smiling at him. “Never ever would I stop loving you.” He smiled and placed a soft chaste kiss on my lips.

    “What prize do you want?” Rang out the bitchy carny worker. “Give her the teddy bear.” Maddox said never taking his eyes off me. He bent forward and whispered in my ear, “We need to leave now. I need you.” I nodded feeling the same way. Maddox grabbed the teddy bear and passed it to me, and we ran back to the motorcycle laughing.

    I jump on the back and wrap my arms around Maddox, and we ride off to goddess knows where. Soon I realize we are at a hotel. A fancy one at that. “Babe a hotel?” I blush up at him as we are walking in the doors. “Yes, babe I can’t have my way with you at either one of our houses. Plus, I’m not doing my girl in the woods on Valentine’s day.” He says rubbing his nose against my neck while we wait at the counter.

    A short man came to the counter. “How may I help you?” He asked looking at the two of us. “Reservation for Wright. The honeymoon suite.” He smiles down at me and I blush. “Ah yes right here. It’s already paid for and here are your room keys. If you need anything let me know.” Maddox takes the keys and hands one to me.

    “Here, go up and get comfortable. I’m going to move my bike to the back of the hotel, so no one sees it. Because if they do, they will know we are here, and your mother probably has spies all over town tonight.” He winks and runs out the doors. I head to the elevators and go to the top floor, Room 615.

    Once I step off the elevators and get to the door, I slide the key in and open to the most amazing set up I have ever seen. The whole back side of the room is windows. I close the curtains and turn on the lamps. The bed is a cherry wood four post king with white duvet and sheets. There are rose petals all over the floor and bed. I decide to get naked. ‘I mean he said get comfortable, right?’ I giggle to myself.

    I slip off my clothes and slide under the covers on the bed. I look at my phone and the time is 8:40, I get about an hour and 20 minutes naked with Maddox. ‘This is going to be a good night.’ I hear the door open and see Maddox walk in. He shuts and bars the door and slowly walks over to me. I sit up and drop the sheet exposing my naked breasts and Maddox’s eyes darken. “Strip.” I tell him.
