Chapter 5

{Maddox’s POV}

    What a freaking day it has been so far. First, I almost get caught f*****g my girl, by her brother. That could have been catastrophic. Then I’m made future Gamma of the pack. ‘Holy s**t. Is this real?’ I ask myself.

    After we left the Alpha’s office Jacob, Garrett, and I walk down to tell the girls. We bust into Kaly’s room, and Sara goes over to Kaly and the two look confused. We tell them the good news, and everyone is excited.

    Kaly shoos us out and says she has homework. Soon after we leave and I go home to tell my grandmother the good news, I get a text from Kaly.

    MY HEART: Babe I’m so happy for you. Wow Gamma Maddox. Sounds hot.

    ME: I know it’s exciting. You think it’s hot? How hot?

    MY HEART: f*****g hot. I’m dripping wet.

    The next text is a picture of her hand in her soaked panties. ‘Holy s**t!’ What this girl does to me is insane. I say a quick prayer to the goddess yet again for her to be my mate.     I jump in the shower and clean up and head into the kitchen. “Gramma, guess what?” My grandmother turns and looks at me with curious eyes. “What did you do now Maddox?” She chuckles. “Gramma why do you always assume I got into some kind of trouble?” I ask with a frown. “Oh I don’t know, maybe because you, Jacob, and Garrett used to get into the most trouble out of all the pups.” She lets out a loud laugh.

    “Well not this time Gramma. I was made Future Gamma today.” I say smiling with a sense of pride. Her eyes fill with tears. “Oh Maddy I’m so proud of you.” She smiles while tears pour down her cheeks. “Gramma please don’t call me Maddy, you know I hate it.” She just chuckles.

    “So who are you beseeching today?” She smiles slyly and turns back to her cooking. “How are you so sure I’m asking anyone?” I ask her biting into the apple I took off the counter. “Oh it’s just a hunch.” She shrugs her shoulders. “Plus I cleaned your room and found some nice ladies under garments and the diamond earrings.” She says with an arched brow.

    “Gramma don’t go through my things.” I shout embarrassed. I know I shouldn’t yell at my grandmother, but she really needs to stop snooping. “Well I was just cleaning.” She shrugs again with a chuckle. “So who it she? The scent is familiar, but I can’t place it.” She smiles at me. “Gramma you been sniffing panties?” I arch my eyebrow at her. She looks up in disgust and slaps the back of my head.

    “You need help boy. No I wasn’t sniffing panties. The scent of the girl is very potently on it. I just picked them up.” She glares at me and I laugh. “So who is she?” “Gramma I can’t say yet. But hopefully, she’s my mate.” I smile at her and kiss her on the top of her head. “I’m gonna go lay down for a little bit and then I have to get ready for tonight.” I turn and walk back to my room.

    I lay down on my bed and have a very vivid dream of Kaly. “Kaly, that’s it baby. Ride this cock.” I pump into her tight little p***y and she screams my name. “Maddox I’m close.” She moans. “Not yet baby, not yet.” I say flipping her over and my body is above her. I push into her hard and slow. The pace is driving her wild and she is writhing beneath me.

She clenches around my d**k and the door burst open and her dad stands there glaring at us. He runs toward me and I am pulled from the dream with a loud banging on my door.

    “Maddox you better get up and get ready. It’s 5:30, you don’t wanna keep your mystery girl waiting.” My grandmother says opening the door. “Thanks Gramma.” I say as she shut the door back. ‘Damn that was a good dream until the end. Maybe I can get a little bit of that tonight at the lake.’ I think to myself as I pull myself up and head to the bathroom.

    After dressing and running some curl gel through my hair I am satisfied with my look. I brush my teeth and tie my bow tie. I go to my dresser and pull out the earrings box and put it in my pocket. ‘I hope she will like them.’ I walk out into the living room to find my grandmother has already left.

    It’s a short walk to the pack house and when I come in through the front door, I see Jacob coming down the stairs. “Hey where is your mate?” I call out to him from the bottom step. “Talking with Kaly. They will be down in a minute.” He smiles at me and looks to be thinking about something.

    “Hey Maddox?” I hear him say looking around suspiciously. “Yeah man.” I smile wondering what is going on. “Sara said something to me, and I wanna know your thoughts.” He sighs and rubs the back of his neck. “Sara thinks you and Kaly would be great as mates. What do you think? Could you see yourself with my sister?” He asks and my eyes go wide. What the f**k do I say to that. “Ummm, I mean Kaly is a prize for anyone to be with. I would be lucky to have her as my mate.” I tell him hoping he doesn’t hear the longing in my voice.

    “Why do you ask tho? None of us know the Goddesses will until we have our wolves.” I ask him with concern. “I don’t know, Sara just got me thinking. To be honest man, it would be great if you two were mates. We could all stay close.” I smile at him and I relax.

    The girls come down the stairs and I see Kaly. She is a vision, and her legs look so perfect exposed, and I swallow hard. Jacob leans over and whispers, “You like her, don’t you?” I nod, then realize that I just told him that I like his sister. I turn wide eyed to see him smile. “It’s cool man. I’m not mad. I thought I would be, but Sara is right you guys would be perfect for each other.” He hits me in the shoulder and laughs. I smile brightly not knowing what to do. ‘Is he f*****g with me right now?’

    “Hey boys.” Sara says as she hops off the last step. “I’m not a boy and you know it.” Jacob says pulling her into a hug and I roll my eyes. “Babe not here.” She huffs. “Sorry baby you know I just can’t get enough of you.” Jacob smiles at her and then kisses her.

    Gagging sounds coming from Kaly cools their jets. I smile at my girl. “Get a damn room.” She says rolling her eyes. “We have one, but I wanted to take my mate right here, because I can.” Jacob says sticking his tongue at her. Kaly rolled her eyes again and looks up at me and I smile down at her.

    This is it, time to test Jacobs words. I look around to see if anyone was around and I lean down and placed a soft kiss on her lips. She instantly looks at Jacob and he looks at me. “Man I didn’t say to jump her. I just said it would be ok to like her.” Jacob shakes his head laughing. “Let’s all go to dinner before mom comes and finds us and tries to kill the two of you.” He chuckles again pointing between Kaly and me.

    Kaly puts her arm in mine, and we walk out the back door of the pack house and into the main tent. We take out seats and start talking. I find Kaly’s hand under the table and give it a gentle squeeze. “What are you doing Maddox?” She asks with a sweet smile. “Well as your brother said, it was ok for me to like you and I would like to tell him…” “About us?” She interrupts me. “Yes and no. Just that we like each other and want to date. Not all the other things.”  I sigh and hope she goes with this.

    “What are you two whispering about?” Alpha Manwell asks startling both of us. “I was just telling her about how excited I am to be Gamma now, and how fun of a date I have planned for Valentine’s day. Since I’m asking her and we will be going as friends, I’m calling it a friendship date.” I smile up at the Alpha and my girl’s father.

    The dream I had almost makes me flinch as it drifts back into my mind. “Is that so Kaly?” Alpha Manwell asks. “Yes Daddy. We are going to the fair in town. It’s gonna be so much fun.” Kaly says clapping her hands. Alpha looks down at Kaly with love in his eyes. “Well I hope you two have a great time. Maddox don’t let anything happen to my beautiful flower and keep your hands to yourself.” He arches an eyebrow at me. “Yes Alpha.” I say as Kaly says, “Daddy.” And covers her mouth with her hand.

    Alpha walks away laughing at the innocence of his daughter. Little does he know I took that innocence long ago; I laugh to myself. After a few minutes Alpha Manwell begins the meal. We eat and converse. After the plates and food have been cleared. Alpha gives a speech and start the beseeching. He gives his wife her gift and she excepts of course.

    Jacob goes next and I knew he was going to ask Sara to marry him, but I thought it would be a little more of a quiet affair. But nope everyone was watching. After we congratulated them, I whispered to Jacob, “Man how the hell are Garrett, or I supposed to compete with that?” I hit him in the arm, and he just laughs.

    I look over and see Kaly and Lylah, who sat at our table tonight, eyeing and gushing over Sara’s ring. “Lylah.” I hear Garrett say and she turns to him with rosy cheeks. “Yes Garrett.” She says almost seductively. “Will you care to be my Valentine?” Garrett asks seeming to hold his breath and hands her the necklace he bought. Lylah looks down and opens the box, her eyes shine with unshed tears and she nods. “Yes, I would love to.”

    Garrett let go of the breath he was holding and wraps her in a hug. I peep Tanner walking toward my girl, and I’ll be damned if he asks before me. “Kaly?” I say looking at her. She smiles at me. “Yes Maddox?” She questions. “Would you do me the honor of being my Valentine?” I ask handing her the velvet box. She opened it and saw the ¾ carat diamond earrings I had got her and gasped. “Yes. Thank you these are beautiful.” She says as she kisses my cheek.

    I see Tanner turn red with rage and storm off stomping. I chuckle to myself and kiss Kaly’s cheek in turn. Her father walks over and asks to see her gift and he smiled at the diamond earrings. “Good choice son.” Alpha says patting me on the back. I smile back at him and nod while Luna eyed me suspiciously. “Rosa please stop giving this poor boy the stank eye. They are friends.” He chuckles at his mate.

    “If you say so Manny.” She says to the Alpha. “But no funny business.” She turns to me and glares. Kaly bust out laughing along with Jacob and soon we were all laughing with the exception of our dear Luna. After a few minutes Alpha Manwell wrapped Luna Rosa in a big hug and pulled her away from our group.

    “In one hour we will head to the lake guys. Meet me right back here and we’ll head over together. Now go dance and mingle.” Jacob tells all of us and we nod. I lead Kaly over to my grandmother. When she sees us coming, her eyes widen in surprise. She gives me a look and I know she’s asking if this is the girl. I nod and she looks terrified. ‘What’s gotten into Gramma.’ I wonder.

    I turn away and lead Kaly to the dance floor instead. She doesn’t seem to notice that we were going to talk to my grandmother and are now not. “I wonder what Tanner’s gift would have been?” Kaly questions and from the look on her face she didn’t mean to ask out loud. “What?!” I ask almost a little too loud. “I was just wondering what he thought would win me over?” She whispers looking at the ground.

    “I don’t like him, so don’t even try and think that. But I was just curious.” She smiles up at me and leans close to my ear. “I love you Maddox.” She was so quiet I barely heard her, but I know she had to be, so the wolves around didn’t listen in. I smile down at her and softly kiss her forehead, spinning her immediately away and then pulling her back into me and began to dance.

    “Are you excited about tonight’s party?” She asks me with a giggle. “Why would I be excited?” I ask her confused. Which let’s be honest that’s what she does best is confuse me. “Because Jacob is going to tell everyone there tonight what you and Garrett are.” She smiles so brightly at me, and I can feel her pride in me.

    “Are you going to be there?” I ask her with a small smile. She looked back at me confused and it’s what I wanted. “Yes. Why wouldn’t I be?” She asked clearly not sure why I asked. “Good.” I sigh. “What does that have to do with you being excited for the party Maddox?” She asked still clearly confused. “I’m excited to be anywhere you are.” I say kissing her forehead and chuckle and she smiles.

    The song ends and I ask her if she wants a drink. “Yes please.” I walk away to get her a glass of wine and I hear Tanner talking to his buddies. “Yeah, that f*****g meat head saw me coming over to ask her and asked her first.” He told them. I laugh to myself, ‘meathead’. “But I will get her alone tonight and talk to her, no matter what.” The way he said it made me angry. They had already walked away to goddess knows where, by the time I looked up.

    ‘I will make sure my girl isn’t alone not one time tonight.’ I think to myself. I’d be kidding myself if I didn’t know what it was like to be so desperate to want to get her alone myself. I remember back to when I saw her looking at me in the library. I snapped and kissed her. It had led to way more by that night, but I had wanted her since I could remember.

    She opened a door that day and I stepped through it and slammed it and locked it for anyone else. She was my world from long ago but was truly mine from that day forward. Tanner has no chance. Thinking about it I smile, and I feel a hand on my shoulder. Turning to see if it’s my girl I come up short to find Trinity. I roll my eyes and try to go past her, but she blocked my path.

    “Get out of my way Trinity.” I practically shout. “Maddox stop being mean to me.” She pouted. “Why?” I asked with a smirk. “Because what if we are mates? Wouldn’t you feel bad for how you have treated me?” She asks with a sly smile and brushes her hand across my chest. “By the way I’ve treated you… meaning being the only guy, besides Garrett, in the age range of 17-20 to not sleep with you?” I ask with a scoff. She looks at me with a glare. “You will be surprised on your birthday.” She turns and walks away.

    Then it hits me Trinity is 18. ‘Please Goddess no. You couldn’t be that cruel.’ I muddle back over to my girl and smile, but it doesn’t reach all the way and the look on her face tells me she knows something is up. “What’s wrong Mad?” She asks sweetly as she touches my arm. “It’s nothing babe. It’s just Trinity being Trinity.” I shrug.

    “Well ok but I’m here if you want to talk about anything.” She smiles and rubs my arm. “You’re the only one I’d talk to babe.” I whisper to her. “Ok well are you ready to go?” She giggles. “The hour is up. Time to go party.” She shouts and I look around to see if people are watching this crazy girl I love. I shake my head and think, ‘I really do love this girl. It will kill me if she’s not mine.’

    I look over to the Alpha and Luna table and I see an older gentleman talking to Alpha Manwell. Next to him is a gentleman about our age and he is looking directly at Kaly. He has a smug look on his face, and I do not like the way he is looking at her one bit.

    We are to where the group is forming now, and I look over to Jacob. “Jacob who is that man talking with your father?” Pointing with my head in their direction. “That’s Alpha Jackson. They came to see our custom of Beseech day. The guy beside him is his Son Jackson Jr, future Alpha of their pack.”
