Chapter seven

I sat in a nearby chair, basking in Kiara's lingering scent. She was a smart wolf, whilst her two friends were doing go's knows what, she spent her time training her body and mind. She would be a worth Luna for me. That made me relax even more as I read my book for a short time before heading down to dinner, eager to see Kiara again. I walked in and took my seat at the head table. I noticed Lucy and Evelyn were already here, both wearing the dresses I had sent them. Lucy was flirting with a warrior named Quinn, whilst Evelyn sat silently eating, a few eyes on her. I hoped that news of Kiara's ability and strength had made the rounds so that not as many of my pack lusted for her. I also notice Gabriel, one of the whores, thrusting her chest into another warriors face as he ran his hands through her red hair. As werewolves, we are not a modest species about s*x or our bodies but Gabriel took the biscuit, letting any man do what they wanted to her. As I looked at her red hair it reminded me of Kiara and my c**k twitched. Maybe she could pay me a visit to help me scratch an itch whilst I waited for this mate finding charade to be concluded. I knew she was a favourite of Stephan's lately and I wondered if it was for the same reason. Just then my gaze turned back to the entrance as Kiara herself walked in, wearing the stunning deep purple dress I gave to her. The thought of something that is mine being wrapped around her made me need to readjust myself. She was about to take a seat when her eyes met mine and I gestured for her to come to me. She was obviously annoyed by this but did not argue. "Alpha." she gritted out as she neared. "Kiara, another good choice in outfit if I do say so myself. Please, won't you join me, it is rather lonely with the others away." she stiffened slightly but moved to take a seat at the end of the table. "A little closer." I said as I stood and pulled out the chair next to me. Kiara rolled her eyes, making me need to suppress a smile as she sat on the chair, me pushing it in like a gentleman before retaking my seat. "May I?" I asked looking at her plate expectantly. "I'd prefer to do it myself." she said as she picked up her plate. I leaned in to hear ear "Remember our agreement, me filling your plate will not be detrimental to you, will it?" she sighed but handed the plate to me. My wolf was smiling at the task, choosing only the best dishes to add to her plate, unlike Zad who had just piled everything on. I paced the plate back in front of her and continued to fill my own." So how do you like the pack so far?" "It is not my pack." she answered, I gave her a stern look and she added. "I like that I can train without having to do it in secret." "I can see that, you know, you don't have to push yourself so hard, taking on a beta in training is a big step for any wolf." "Yeah well, no one else was training today." she said with anger as she pushed food around her plate. "I can have someone train with you whenever you want." I offered, to which she rolled her eyes again. I did not want her to train, knowing that she was doing it to try and leave here, but I would prefer her to be against someone of my choosing instead of these horny young wolves. "For God's sake Kiara you need to eat." "Why?" she asked as she threw down her fork and crossed her arms. "You had little to eat last night and nothing to eat so far today." I growled. "Your spying on me?" she glared at me, unimpressed. "No, I was sat close to you last night and there is a camera in the kitchen to see if anyone breaks the fridge as it happens way too often." my words made her soften slightly. "If you want to train, fine, but doing so without nourishment is irresponsible." I could see her chewing over my words in her head, her lips being trapped between her teeth making me need to suppress a moan. God I wanted to kiss those lips, bite where her teeth were sunk in as I sink into her. I came out of my daze as she picked up her fork and began to eat. We continued in silence, my eyes drifting to her from time to time as her mouth rapped around her fork and her eyes fluttered with enjoyment. It made me proud that she was enjoying the meal, wanting to make her happy but no idea how to. Yes my pack was vicious, but I would always make my mate feel special, and I could do that much better than Stephan or Zadock. Gabriel approached our table. "Alpha." she grated with a bow before her gaze fell on Kiara. "I don't think we were properly introduced." "Kiara." Kiara said as she placed her fork back on her plate. "Hi Kiara. I'm…" "Gabriel." Kiara finished before leaning forward. "May I ask you something Gabriel?" Gabriel looked a bit shocked, probably because Kiara knew her name but nodded anyway. "Only if I can ask you one in return." Kiara nodded before whispering. "Why do you do, what you do?" Gabriel smiled and leaned forward. "I enjoy giving the men of this pack whatever pleasure they desire." "Okay, but why do you really do what you do? If you don't answer me honestly I am not inclined to do so either." Gabriel's demeanour altered slightly, showing her vulnerability. "At first I did not want to mate the higher classes, scared of their brutality." "And now?" Kiara pushed. "Who would want a w***e for a mate?" Gabriel whispered. Kiara leaned forward, placing her hand on Gabriel's. "You are a beautiful woman, and I can tell actually quite a nice person under all your layers." She brushed Gabriel's hair out of her face. "If I can ever help you to fulfil your goals, it would be my pleasure. You do not have to be who you are forever." Gabriel smiled, a genuine smile that made her look truly beautiful before her guard went back up. "My turn." she said as she leaned back and crossed her arms. "How many of this pack have you f****d?" Kiara laughed at the question. "You could have asked me anything and that is what you went for." she picked up a knife and pricked the end of her finger. Gabriel and I looked at her confused. "Smell my blood." she said holding the finger to Gabriel. Still with a look of confusion Gabriel leaned forward and smelled the small drop of blood on Kiara's finger. Her face scrunched up as she took another smell, Kiara leaning forward. "I thought you may not believe my answer and I hate being called a liar." Gabriel still looked confused but nodded and turned away. Just as she was about to step away from us she turned back to Kiara. "Thank you for your words. I may take you up on them one day." Kiara smiled. "I hope you do." and with that Gabriel left us. My curiosity peeked as I watched Kiara wipe the drop of blood on to a napkin and hold it in her hand. Music started playing into the dining room as the room changed from an eatery to a relaxed social experience. I saw Kiara go to leave so I grabbed her wrist. "Stay." I whispered. "I need to get up early." she replied, pulling at her arm slightly. Must she always be so difficult. "That was not a request." I clarified. Kiara looked ready to battle me when she saw Evelyn and Lucy start to dance with some warriors. Her body tensed as she retook her seat. "Have a drink." I ordered as a lower ranked wolf came around with drinks. He handed me my usual beer before he turned to Kiara. "Do you have anything non alcoholic?" she asked the wolf. He shook his head looking worried at her response. "What would you recommend then?" "T-the cocktails are nice." he stuttered, looking up at her briefly. "Then I will have what you suggest. Thank you…" "M-Mike." "Thank you Mike." Kiara said with a smile as Mike ran off to make her a drink. "You don't have to be so friendly with him." I growled. She looked at me with a sly smirk. "You ordered me to stay. If I am staying I am not going to change in to a rude ass hole like you and the rest of your wolves in this room just to fit in." I growled at her answer. "Is my attitude grating on you alpha?" she said flicking her tongue on my title making me want to bend her over my knee and spank the attitude out of her. "Don't push me." "Why? Because you can't do anything to harm me?" I shifted slightly as my mind raced with what I wanted to do to her in that moment. Luckily Mike returned with her drink. "Thank you Mike." she said again, taking the drink and having a taste. She groaned. "What is this?" "S-s*x on the beach." "Is that an offer?" she said fluttering her lashes. I jumped up and grabbed Mike by the throat, hailing him over the table. "I might not be able to punish you but I can punish him. Is this what you want?" "Put him down." she yelled placing the napkin on the table and grabbing my hand, trying to free Mike. "You will do whatever I say for the rest of the night without question or hesitation or I will rip Mike's head off right now." "Okay, okay. Just let him go." she replied quickly. I put a very shake Mike back down, he ran off as soon as his feet hit the ground. Kiara picked up her drink and downed what remained, shivering slightly at the intake of alcohol, before slamming the glass down. "We need another cocktail over here?" I growled. Another low ranked wolf came over with a blue drink this time. "Whenever you see Kiara's glass empty I want you to bring her another, understand?" "Y-yes alpha." the wolf replied before running off. "Drink." I ordered as I looked back at Kiara. She took a sip before placing the glass back on the table refusing to look at me. "Why do you have to make everything so difficult?" "I don't want to be here." she answered honestly. "You murdered my pack, the people who raised me. You openly admit you are doing to do the same to three other packs without remorse. You are going to force me to mate with one of your pack, a bond that lasts for the rest of my life. How am I supposed to act? " " Your friends seem to be enjoying themselves." I pointed out as Evelyn and Lucy enjoyed the attention they got from the others as they danced. "Some people accept a situation easier than others." she shrugged as she took another sip of her drink. She pushed her long red hair away from her face as she watched her friends enjoy the night time element of the pack. "Maybe pack means something different to other people than it does to me." "And what does pack mean to you Kiara?" I asked, truly intrigued. "Everything." she whispered as she lent back in her chair and took another sip of her drink, seemingly thinking about a sad memory as her eyes mist for a second before she composes herself again. She is stronger than I though, loyal to a fault and my wolf wanted her even more. "How long is this party lasting anyway?" "Until the others return form the full moon pack." "They are coming back tonight?" she asked with more hope than I expected. "They linked me about an hour ago, shouldn't be too long now. Finish your drink." she did as I asked, without arguing for once and her drink was quickly replaced by a purple one. "Which is your favourite so far?" I asked as she took a sip of her new drink. "They are all nice, I guess. I have never had alcohol before but these taste a bit like juice." she took another sip before putting the drink down in the table. My eyes moved to the napkin still resting on the table. "What did you show Gabriel on your blood?" I asked. Kiara's eyes then fell on the napkin too as she went to grab it but I was faster. As I held the fabric in my hand I brought it up to my nose. I took a deep sniff, not quite sure what I was looking for. I repeated the action and then my eyes bulged. I looked to Kiara who had gone a shade of red that made her look even more beautiful as she snatched the napkin from my clutches.
