Nathan had ordered a cappuccino to drink at the cafeteria. While he was taking small sips on his drink, I waited for an answer.
"So? Mitoja?" I encouraged him to speak.
"It's crazy. How do you know about its existence?"
I hesitated a little bit about what should I answer. What was I supposed to tell him? That magically a history book called me by name and said that I should go there because it was my home? Or that a beautiful guy in the middle of the night came into my room to tell me exactly the same thing?
"I just... I had a dream. Someone was telling me that I had to go there", I said.
"That's really weird. It may seem crazy, but I know it's going to make a lot of sense to you. Mitoja is not here, not in this world. Some people say that all the magic of the world comes from Mitoja. I mean, its the origin of magic".
It seemed crazy. A complete madness, but he was right. It made absolutely all sense to me. Probably Mitoja was that unknown place I traveled to when I was five years old, which for some reason I called my home. But why should I go there? And most importantly, why is Mitoja my home?
"How do you know about that place?" I asked.
"For one person in particular: Frederick. The meanest man you'll ever meet, or better yet, don't even meet him. He leaders that place, he rules Mitoja and is capable to drag anyone to his side just to get what he wants", he recounted angrily.
Frederick? That weird name again. Was it the same Frederick Molly told me about? It had to be. Things were finally making sense, but I felt like my brain would collapse.
"Frederick Kerhoff, " I found out. Nathan opened his eyes in amazement as he heard me say that name.
"Do you know him?"
"I've been told a few things about him. I know he's the author of one of the biggest massacres in the town. Hold on... So you're telling me that after all this time he's still alive? And he rules Mitoja?"
There were too many things to process. A huge puzzle that was just and beginning to form and everything was related, everything was happening around me and I had never noticed it.
"I know it sounds crazy, Adara. But you're in this school, which means you think there's something else, something we can't see. I know you believe in magic, and I know that what I'm telling you doesn't sound that crazy at all in your head".
"Why Frederick rules Mitoja? I mean, why him? How is he related to that place? How did you meet Frederick? Have you ever been there? How do you get to that place? Can you take me there?" without even realizing I let all my doubts out all at once. I was desperate and thirsty for answers. Nathan didn't know what to answer to so many questions, so he just left his mouth slightly open hoping that words will come to him by themselves.
"Okay ", he spoke by placing his hands on the table in an attempt to calm me down. Then he let out a sigh. "First you need to calm down, I know it's too much information and it's hard to understand."
"No, it's not. I know Mitoja, I've been there and I think I need to get back."
If I could just find a way to get back there, or if Nathan told me how to do it, it would be my total evidence of magic existence. I could prove to the whole world that there is magic around us, but sometimes we can't see it at first sight. If I could only prove to the world that Frederick Kerhoff, that ruthless killer of history is still alive after hundreds of years, it would be enough for me to graduate, receive my degree, and fulfill my dream of being an expert in occult sciences. I definitely had to meet him.
"I want to meet Frederick. Take me with him", I asked Nathan.
