Chapter 4

Sea Salt Damien I met Fanny and Adam at lunch , they both seemed to be distracted by something because they almost passed by our usual table. Adam pulled Fanny closer to him when they walked next to a guy who forgot his eyes on Fanny. I grinned and waved for them. They are so good together and I was glad  that they were happy. They sat down in front of me and Fanny put a piece of her pie on her fork and she handed to Adam but at the moment when he wanted to get it she quickly put the bite in her own mouth. Adam grabbed Fanny's face with both of his hands cupping her face between and kissed her. She giggled. -Oh guy come on go to a room!- I complained of feigned confusion. Adam looked at me rolling his eyes and Fanny poked out her tongue. This two folks are my best friends. We grew up together and we were there one to the other always. Sharing every adventure and there were plenty. Adam was always the clown of our team, Fanny was the common sense and I was the troublemaker. I turned to Adam. - You both seem a little distracted, is everything okay?- He looked up from his food , swallowed the bite he took and answered. - Yeah, just Fanny met a human today and there is something strange about her that bothers my baby. - Fanny continued. - Actually Adam said earlier to talk about it with you parents maybe they have an idea  about what she is, because I'm sure that she is not a human. - Adam rolled his eyes at her. He loved to do this move it was his trademark. - Chipmunk if she goes to the human high school but she lives with werewolves it means she is human. -Fanny grimaced at him. - I know what I smelled and that was definitely not a human's smell. - If you say so... - Fanny was getting annoyed but I saw on Adam's face that he did this on purpose, he loved to tease her just like his parents did with each other. There was no day since Alice moved in with Eric to the pack house that one of them weren't running around looking for the other one to finish it according to my mother. They were making bets which day who wants to kill who. But apart of the constant annoying and joking or maybe exactly because of them they loved each other unconditionally. Okay back to present. - And any of you would be so generous to tell me what did Fanny smelled? -I elbowed  on the table with my head resting on my hand and stared at them waiting for an answer. - Sea salt - she said- I smelled sea salt. When school finished I jumped in my car and they did the same with theirs. We headed home to talk with my parents ,I also got curious. We arrived about a half hour later. As we walked down the hallway many pack members greeted us, we arrived to my father's office which used to be my grandfather's and it will be mine one day when my father will resign from being Alpha and I'll took his place in our pack. I knocked on the door and my mother's gentle voice answered. - Come in Ryder! - She always felt when I was close. We went in and Wilson my father's godfather was sitting in front of them. - Hello Wilson, sorry we didn't want to interrupt. We will come back later. - I turned around to leave but my father stopped us. - You are not interrupting anything we just finished. Take a seat. - We sat down on the couch just like the old times except that now we weren't in any trouble. Or at least we thought that. My mother smiled at me and asked. - So... What is going on? Did you three broke something again? - She winked at me because that was out safe code that my father wasn't in good mood.  - No, Fanny met a human today and she has a strange feeling about her. - Now Wilson also payed us attention. - What kind of feeling Fanny? - My father asked, we all new that Fanny's intuitions are normally very good.  - She smelled like sea salt and pine. She is definitely living with werewolves but she is not one of us, but neither human. We wanted to ask you about his.- My mother frowned her eyebrows and walked to the bookshelf, we all followed her with our glance. She took of a heavy book from the shelf and put it in front of us on my father's desk. - Do you have an idea about what she is Roo? - My father asked, he used to call my mother Roo because she was so small compared to him that he could've put her in his pocket "easily". She smiled at him, her eyes were full of love. - I think I read about something similar a few years ago.- She sat down on my father's lap and started to search for information. - Here it is! - She pointed on a chapter called " Hybrids". We all looked at the book and there were hundreds of pages about mystical creature hybrids and their most known characteristics.  - Fanny you said that she knows about werewolves , true?- Fanny nodded. - I suppose, she had apart from her smell two other's and both of the were werewolf's smell. - My father looked at her. - Did you recognized their smell? - He was holding my mother by her waist during the whole time and Wilson was very care-worn. He didn't like hybrids and humans, my mother and Alice were the only exceptions. He thought that hybrids are normally not aware of their true nature and power, so they are dangerous. - No, they are probably from another pack. She goes to the local high school if this helps with anything. - My father shook his head. - The school area's are neutral zones. Anyway why are you so interested about her? - That moment Fanny crashed. - Actually I have no idea. She seemed nice, the rest of her classmates treated her like s**t, and I gave her a hug that moment I smelled her scent. Later when a football player guy put his hands on her my wolf got angry... -Adam and I stared at her. - You didn't tell this to us. - I told. - I forgot, I got distracted by her scent. - My mother looked thoughtful and my father looked into her eyes.  - What is it dear? - She caressed his face.  - Nothing just if Fanny's wolf was protective towards this girl she has to be special to us someway. - She was right. Fanny's intuitions were always pack related. I got really interested to meet her and my mother thought the same because she continued. -  Why don't you invite her here? -Wilson stood up and stared in her eyes. - Are you out of your mind Ariel?! We don't know what she is and with which pack is she?! - He was almost screaming with my mother this made me angry and I felt that my eyes were turning darker. But my father raised his Alpha voice which made everyone bow a little their heads apart from my mother. - You are right at some point but don't you dare to raise your voice again at my Mate and your Luna! Family or not show her respect. - Wilson bowed.  - I' sorry Luna. - He left the room and my father was getting calm. Mom looked at him. - This wasn't necessary Ryder, he was right. - My father snuggled her more into his lap and gave a peck at her nose. - I know but you are too forgiving. - She laughed and kissed my fathers mouth.  - Some things never change. - They both laughed and that made us smile a little. We were lucky to have such a strong Alpha and a caring Luna. I was proud to be their son.  - Well, kids I have and idea. You should get to know her a little better and if we have some more information and she seems fine we will invite her here. What do you think? - That was a good idea from my father. We nodded and smiled.  - Great , I will assign this task fro you three. It's apt to you how you will manage to get information but you have to respect our laws and be careful. Deal? - He smiled at us and we said at the same time. - Yes Alpha!  - Great now if you don't want to see how we did Ryder it is better if you run and close the door! - With the end of his sentence he started to kiss my mother passionately and we ran out of the room slamming the door behind. We went to the kitchen to grab some brunch and Adam with a mouth full of food said. -  You already got a plan.  - Why do you think that? - I asked with faked innocence. - Come on! We know you maybe better than you know yourself. - Fanny said and chuckled. - Fine I have a plan.
