Chapter 10: You'll hurt Him

1537 Words
Damien’s POV It would be a lie if I say that I wasn’t glad to see Lachlan. He was my best friend after all but as usual, it was my mistake. My f*****g mistake that lead him here—all alone! Watching him stand there with hard features made me regret even more but suddenly I felt heaviness around me. Turning my head around, I saw Vincent moving in lighting speed. Thankfully, I had the vampiric genes and for me everything turned as a slow-mo. He hoped on his left leg and jumped towards me with his right hand raised up; ready to attack. His long black hairs coming out of his bun and falling on his eyes making him more powerful than he already was. I swiftly dodged around but stumbled. He was quick and in a blink of the eye charged towards me again. I ducked back, in a ‘C’ shape avoiding his fist. He growled and the window glass shook making noise and my head turned to its direction. Taking advantage of this, he hit me in my stomach and felt air cut from my system. Fuming with anger, I dashed towards him while he vanished from his place and appearing to the other spot. I ran there and it happened again. “Stop playing the same old game, you old man!” I hissed in anger and watched him glare at me. The darkness around him increased as he spread his arms beside him. It became denser as he shut his eyes. I tried to decode what he was upto when the temperature around us dropped drastically. It must be 23 degrees F or less and it still went going down. My eyes widened feeling the chills because I was helpless in this. The chattering of teeth around me made me face Lachlan whose face was pale and white as a sheet of paper. His fists were clenched tight and shivered terribly. Even his lips had started turning blue. I dashed to him in my lighting speed and saw him flinch with my touch. Truth be told, it hurt me but right now, he needs to be somewhere but not here. Pushing the door ajar; I shoved him outside but it was no different. The objects had started getting covered with a thin layer of ice making me wonder. My head snapped back at the room inside but he saved me the energy. The Dark Master floated out and came in front wrapping his fingers around my neck. Chocking; I hit him in the ribs but he was unperturbed. “You think you can hurt my baby girl and I would let it slip?” His anger was just dropping the temperature around. I needed to calm him down! But how? His once black eyes turned golden as he inched dangerously close to me. Sniffing me like a dog. “I can easily suck you dry and you know that! Fairies blood is exhilarating but such a pity… you are nothing but tainted!” He pulled back but not leaving my throat. “I told you to stay the f**k away from her but you didn’t! You even dare fight me back then and NOW!” he yelled and hit my face with his other hand. It was cold as f**k! Definitely there will be a cut on my cheek. Sure enough there was but too bad even the blood solidified before falling. I watched him appear in front of Lachlan as he wrapped his fingers around his throat and lifted him up. It was evident how hard he was fighting but sadly, the dark master was the conqueror. “And how dare you try hiding her from me? You didn’t even realize how this could end?” He was enraged and I rushed to him pushing him away with all the force I had. An energy blasted from my hands as it hit the master making him stumble back. Sizing this opportunity, I dashed towards Lachlan and pulled him away from the master’s way. It irked the others as they surrounded us to finish us off but guess? I was ready! It all happened in seconds making Edward dizzy. I feared he would freeze to death and fear gripped my heart. Please god! Help me. I need heat to save Edward. I was rocking on my heels protecting Edward from the coven when the Master growled in annoyance. The others stepped back and he charged towards up. This time even my body started freezing. Unable to move a muscle as per my will; I was still ready to take the impact. I must have done something good because god did answer my prayer. Immediately, a bright light exploded around us and the whole place started getting warmer. Each and every item perspired and I felt the shudder under the temperature difference. The warmth wasn’t contained to the skin but also to the heart when I heard footsteps rushing. Turning around my world stopped. My breath hitched and fell on my knees. My jaw-dropped to the ground as I watched my baby Tasha running. She was glowing with fire surrounding her and tears running down her cheeks. It resembled so much to the last time when I lost her and my breathing became rugged. Unable to contain myself, I ran to her and saw her halt with widened eyes. She was shocked and scared! It didn’t matter. I kneeled and embraced feeling the pain piercing my skin but not due to the fire but due to the past. I hissed but didn’t let her go. “I love you Tasha! I am so sorry baby. Please forgive me!” I rambled still squeezing her. She writhed and ended up crying making me frown. Putting her apart, I saw as she cried hard and then hit me repeatedly. She kept hitting me with her little fists and cried with her lower lips protruding out. She hit and stomped her feet until I pulled her back in my embrace. Her tears drenched me but I held her till she relaxed. “Dad…” She whined and I c****d my eyebrow at her. I let her go and saw as she rushed to Edward and cupped his cheeks. He was laying on the floor and I panicked. She hovered over him and patted his cheek crying. “Dad!” her tears fell directly on his lips and she clinged to his chest, sneaking her little arms around his neck. “Tasha!” Another feminine sound made me snap my head around to find a weak pale figure running to her. She was really beautiful but not enough to sway me. She rushed to Tasha and held her trying to pull her back. Her sudden entry made the coven uneasy. Mr. Vincent eyed them and dismissed. They disappeared but only one remained. As far as I guess, he was Gerald. The one Tasha told me about. He indeed was very young but his eyes were twinkling as they remained focused on my Tasha. I know he was like a brother but could you blame me if I was feeling jealous? I saw how the woman tried to pull her back. “He needs to breathe baby. You’ll hurt him.” She tried to convince but was failing. It was now when Edward stirred licking his lips. Almost instantly, his pale face resumed its color surprising me. He sat straight and embraced Tasha tightly kissing her forehead. My heart clenched and I averted my eyes. There was no doubt that he loved her a lot and probably was best for her. Regardless of the fact; I don’t want to give up. He behaved like a true father and she just needed him. Will she even come with me? Now I started sulking, it wouldn’t be good if she won’t come back home with me. My eyes halted on Vincent who had a small smile on his face as he watched the two. Even though he was glad but I could pick up sad aura from him. Maybe he didn’t like the idea of being replaced. When did he behave like a dad? Huh! Sneering inwardly, I saw as Vincent glared at me hard but I ignored him. I don’t need to be afraid of a p*****t father. “Princess, hush! I am okay. Thanks to you.” Edward cooed as I saw Gerald walking to her. My guards alerted as he had a sheepish grin on his face and walked to stop beside her. He knelt down and stared at her face before chuckling that ended into a cry. He placed his sword (massive) sword in her feet as Edward pulled her back. Tasha’s eyes twinkled watching it and delightedly watched him feeling excited. Her eyes glanced between Gerald and Edward who passed a weak smile. Gerald bowed his head down in her feet and resumed his earlier position. He glanced back at Vincent who was smiling proudly at him. Gerald wiped his tears and smiled before facing her back again. “Welcome back Princess Tasha.” He said enthusiastically. My heart fluttered with nervousness as all eyes stayed put on her watching her reaction. She laughed excitedly and it filled my every cell with joy. Bending down she touched the sword hesitatingly and smiled showing all her pearly teeth. She ran to him and gave an abrupt hug before running back to Edward and sitting on his lap. “Thank you.” She answered adorably with her sweet voice making me want o bent her back and kiss senselessly. Alas! She was still a kid. A f*****g minor!
