Chapter 9: Deserve a Second Chance

1457 Words
Phil’s POV He took as to the villa that was situated in between the woods and it was more than just amazing. My eyes never left the baby Tasha still struggling to decode how these things can happen. “Welcome to my small world guys…” Edward said walking us inside as I smiled at him. It was now that I studied him. He appeared to be complicated; not like the jolly man I’ve remembered. He was serious and mature as if always on high defense. “Emma…?” He called for someone and a young beautiful woman came and took Tasha from him. She acknowledged us before turning around. She was pretty really and I wasn’t able to remove my eyes from her. “So… how are you going to explain all this?” Zac was still furious and asked gesturing around with his hands. Edward sighed and my attention shifted back to him. “What do you know? It’s all about supernaturals… Zac has the idea maybe you don’t—” Edward paused as I c****d my eyebrows at him. “Is that… true?” I asked Zac who nodded his head gravely. “So, you remember treating her right? She was anemic and every cell of her body soaked the blood you transfused?” He reminded me something that was hard to forget. “Of course! I do remember that… what about it then?” I asked fidgeting in my seat. He briefed me about the good and bad vampires, fairies and then the Dark Master that rule over every supernatural entity. He explained and even showed us evidences suggesting she wasn’t a mere vampire but a phoenix. She has the power of fire and ice. She was unaware of it like Damien. She loved him and devoted herself while due to his misunderstanding and trust issues; he decided to betray her with the one person she tried to stay away from. The person who was her ex-husband made her life hell; the person who ruined her and the one who forced her to leave her family and country. She had a hard time adjusting to her new life and it finally fell head over heels with him but he chose not to discuss and sort out their misunderstanding and invited her husband over. His husband tortured her to an extent where she was unable to take the double betrayal. She reached to her point wherein her phoenix powers kindled and she was burnt alive. We were all crying in the end as he covered his face in the palm and cried. Taking some time, I managed to walk to him and rubbed his back wiping my own tears. “That f*****g moron was the reason behind her pain and death! I saw how broken and shattered she was in her last minutes… I wanted to chop his head right there and then but it wasn’t easy as I thought. My focused remained on her… her body turning to ashes.” He sobbed. Tears were streaming down my face as I saw Zac deep in his thoughts with jaw clenched. His eyes glistened as he wiped his tears but didn’t look at Edward. “You are worried as to why I didn’t tell this to anyone.” Edward lifted his eyes and glared between me and Zac. “It’s because I don’t f*****g care whatever happened to the bastard! He deserved it. Every bit of it for doing something to the woman he loved. Someone as innocent and pure as her; he decided to conspire behind her makes him nothing more than a piece of s**t! I hate him. If not for me to have collected her ashes; she wouldn’t be with us EVER!” He was fuming with anger and I tried to calm him a bit. My eyes diverted to the shuffling in the room when I saw the little Tasha staring us as she fumbled with her feet. “Dad… Don’t cry. Tasha will cry too…” She answered in a little slur voice and made my heart wrench. We witnessed how he jerked and ran to her, holding in her arms and patting her head before placing a kiss on her cheek. “I’m trying my best to protect her from her dark past. I don’t want anyone of them- Damien or the master to find her because I know; both of them won’t be good for her. It had taken a huge effort to mask her scent from everyone and also from my community just to protect her and I don’t want anything to ruin.” He answered staring at her. The fear of losing her again was evident on his face and I turned to watch Zac who looked worried himself. We decided to leave it to them because there wasn’t any proof needed to know he really cared if he was ready to face the master himself. Promising to never mention about this to Damien we headed back early than planned to. Flashback Ended   Damien didn’t look angry anymore but heartbroken. He slouched back in the couch as he blinked multiple times. “I know I am f*****g i***t! Asshole! But I want to get my Tasha back. I’ve already being repenting and now need a second chance with her to fix everything.” He mumbled under his breath. He was talking to self trying to be convincing and I sighed. We have seen how low he went without her. He was nothing but a walking dead and it was worse watching him reduce to nothing every passing day. This guy has forgotten how to smile; live his life or even relax for a while. He was not different than a robot! Hell… even robots need time for maintenance but he didn’t. As he says; he can’t sleep without dreaming about her or the nightmares. I pity him and finally decided to help him. Everybody deserves a second chance but it bothered me if he really was sure to take care of a five year or something old? That would be new! *** Damien’s POV We arrived early in the morning. It was not even four and we drove to the place where he lived. In the mountain! My breath escalated with every passing second and started doubting myself. Will I really be able to face Edward? What will I say? How am I going to explain anything to him? I knew I was so wrong and knew he always had the hunch that I’ll ruin what I have, yet there was doubt that I still was in love with that girl. Even if I need to fight him- her best friend; I’ll do gladly. Only this time- I won’t let her go! As we went deeper in the woods, the surrounding started to change. I had goosebumps while the others shivered due to cold. Turning to my left, I watched the glass fogged. What’s happening here? I knew there wasn’t any sudden atmospheric change; nor did my google showed that than why the f**k everything was turning icy? I squinted my eyes only to see everything freeze! My heart raced wildly with anticipation. “How long?” I asked impatiently. “Right over there…” Zac pointed to the distant house making me want to run. Only if I’ve had the power… Wait! I do have the power! I danced inwardly and turned to explain it to my friends. “Guys, I fear that her p*****t father is here. I need to stop him before he takes her away!” Urgently informing I saw as they nodded and finally focused to imagine the same house with my eyes closed. I felt being carried away before getting squeezed and finally felt nauseous. Fuck! It was after so long I did that. I struggled to take deep breaths and help myself over the sickening feeling. When my head stopped being dizzy; I opened my eyes to stare at the house. There was no light and I wondered what was going on. Is everything okay? Am I too late? As per my experiences I know I wasn’t. I shouldn’t infact. My stomach churned as I dashed towards the house ringing the bell but no one answered. I wasn’t hoping anyone to. So, I ran around it and finally stopped at the window where I heard some mumbling. Plastering my face to the window; I saw some silhouette inside making me edgy. Next thing, I was fuming and before I knew… the window cracked with my pressure. I was stunned but recovered quickly. Stepping inside made the world stop around me. Right in front stood the devilishly handsome man, the god of seduce and the man I hated most- Vincent Alexander! “The Dark Master it is to you!!!” He gritted through his teeth before whiplashing something at me. I wasn’t quick to dodge and felt a sharp pain on my arm. I cupped my arm while glaring at him as he stood there with a hunter in his hand and wearing a modern suit in navy blue. Fuck! It was now when my eyes averted and fell on the other tensed person beside me. “Lachlan!” I called and watched him stiffen.
