Salvos Kingdom
The large hall echoed with the clashing sounds of two swords. The dark yet moonlit room vibrated as the two vampires fought each other. The elder and the royal- Dark Master Vincent and the younger, child-like royal warrior- Gerald were combating.
The dark master stayed still in his place, relaxed while Gerald sprinted towards him and threw an upper cut which was easily dodged by the Master. For the normal human eyes, it would appear like the two men were just standing at a distance due to the speed they fought. With lightning speed they fought each other giving us a still-picture.
Gerald threw jabs after jab at him but the Master only smirked and dodged them easily. It irked Gerald and he vanished to appear behind the lord and sprawled on his. Master was waiting for it because in the passion of fighting against the Master, Gerald had forgotten that Master could read our thoughts.
No doubt he knew what Gerald was planning and easily avoided it. Gerald about to fall on the floor but swiftly turned to flew back on his own.
As they were fighting, Master suddenly felt a slight pain on his leg and freeze at the same spot. Seizing the opportunity, Gerald rushed and took down master with the knees. Vincent stumbled but quickly escaped the fall and flew to a safe distance.
Groaning with fatigue, Gerald fisted in the nearby pillar making it c***k.
“One day I’ll defeat you master.” He said dejectedly but watched Vincent looking bothered.

Vincent’s POV
“Master…?” Gerald called making me glance at him.
He watched me skeptically. Luckily, he didn’t have mind reading power.
“Yes, Gerald. You did a great job though. It won’t surprise me if someday you’ll be able to defeat me.” I praised his efforts.
It was a good one. Never had such a combat in these past years and am glad that this guy had utilized his time to polish himself. Regardless of how he still blames himself for what happened a year and few months back but I never did. For me he was like a son to me. He made me proud by becoming strong and proves that I never made a mistake in appointing him as the royal warrior but I just hope- Tasha to be back.
“Thank you Master but why do I feel there’s more to this.” He asked gesturing towards my form.
“Nothing…” My voice flattered in the end and I quickly turned away from him.
Strangely after almost seven months of trying to forget her, I felt her call me. I felt she said- Dad… She must be terrified. Must be in need of me, but where to?
I cannot tell him this. They thought I was being crazy. I know that because I can read their minds. I’ve sent my bodyguards to search her but nobody was able to. It didn’t annoy me because being the sire I couldn’t get the connection than could I really blame them?
Gerald was the hardest to console but he agreed to stay and be my left shoulder. It irked Lucian who was my right hand and dreams of becoming the next master. Will it be bad of me to hope Gerald take over the throne if not Tasha?
“Master, I can tell from the emotional havoc that you are missing… her.” His voice ending in a whisper made me shut my eyes.
A black and white image appeared showing him standing with head bowed and chest heaving. Then I heard his thoughts-
When will you understand master that our Tasha isn't coming back…?
My eyes snapped open and fists clenched but something nagged in my heart like a doubt. A doubt that maybe he was saying the truth lingered while my dead heart was convinced that she’ll be back.
“Gerald!” I turned to watch him look up at me.
“Were you sired?” I asked although it isn't something to discuss but I was curious to prove my point.
He shook his head confused at my question.
“Then you’ll never know why I strongly believe that she is safe and sound. I’d appreciate if you could have faith in me.” I answered nonchalantly.
He was baffled and bowed low.
“Master, I do have faith in you but it’s just… I am worried why you want to torture yourself. Forgive me for my guts.” He was scared to have offended me.
Huh! Little did he know he was being honest with good intentions and I know that already! Thus, nothing he says or does offend me.
“Nevermind, Gerald. I want you to find her for me. You knew her better than the others apart from me. Will you?” I asked and watch him hesitate before nodding his head.
He disappeared leaving behind a dark trail of mist as I stood lost in my monologue. A ray of hope emerged with the unusual sensation I felt today. It just made my belief strong that she is still alive. No matter what they say, even though she was burnt but she is still alive!
Yuri’s POV
I jumped over the fencing around Tasha’s house and jogged up to her room. Her room doesn’t face the sea and nor does it face the trail outside. It faces the hidden forests. I remember her putting a fight over the room. She loves the sea view and her eyes sparkles just at the scenario. It tempts her as she says ‘calls her’ towards it. I was in her support but due to some reasons, Edward doesn’t think the same.
He says it is better for her to stay this side than that. Shrugging to the thought I knocked on her window waiting for her to open it. That’s our little secret. No one knows she has learnt to open the window- yeah I agree it is an odd way but then does it count?
After few minutes, I heard her rushing footsteps before the lock clicked open and the window slid to the left. A grinning face appeared out of it and I pushed her face inside with a palm covering it. Making my way in, I picked her up and kissed her chubby cheeks.
She’s really lovely.
As expected she giggled and kissed me back, a not-so-wet kiss. I dunno what it is with her but she is afraid to touch the skin. She’ll leave just a tiny bit space when she kisses making me pout at her.
“Brother Yuri…” She beamed as I set her down and headed back to lock the window. The lock was classic.
It was an five way lock along with a latch plus it needed a pass-‘word’. We both doesn’t know what it is. It reminds me of the day when she unlocked it for the first time.
We planned to sneak out late night because she was getting edgy saying ‘he’s here…’ infuriating me. I was clueless but thought it would be fine if she just go out because Uncle keeps her locked the whole time.
So, we planned but the window became a hindrance. I told her we cannot due to this but then she frowned before standing close to it. After some time she flew up and my eyes bulged out. Although I am aware of her identity but it was the first time, I saw her do this. She floated in air as she moved her mouth. Dense vapors formed out of her mouth and clouded to form a word ‘Dilectus’. It entered the mouth piece and the sound that came out was that of Uncle making me astonish at the whole thing. She extended her fore-finger at the latch which came undone and the five-way lock as well opened because the word was verified by the device.
It was admiringly stunning but scary too. The look she had during that time wasn’t of that innocent kid she is but that of a seductress. Fortunately, I was quick to look away from her. Her eyes are the most dangerous part. They drown you like she has been devouring your soul making you week. I’ve learnt this in that single moment and sworn to never look straight into them.
She was pulling my sweatpants before slapping my legs to grab my attention. Even the angry Tasha looks adorable. One would want to have a bite of her chubby cheeks.
“He’s sad Yuri…” She said and my attention set on her watching her saddened face.
“Who?” I asked with c****d eyebrow. Now, facing her as I sat on the floor beside her; I saw her band-aid knees.
“He… Damien.” She said and my eyebrows scrunched together.
“Who’s he?” I asked angrily.
As per my best knowledge it is just us who spend time together. She isn't allowed to go anywhere and thus, there wasn’t any person who can come into her contact. Then who was this guy she was talking about?
She shrugged turning away from me. I saw her saddened eyes worrying me. She was never sad expect at nights. It’s like she has suddenly grown up.
“Where did you meet him?” I asked trying to stay calm.
She shrugged again making me furious.
“Look Tasha. You shouldn’t meet anyone in our absence got it? If this Damien or whoever he is comes again, tell me.” I instructed her but she seemed lost.
“I need to go to him Yuri. I promised.” She said and turned to face me.
She had tears in her eyes and it made my heart clench for a minute. I cupped her cheeks and wiped them away with the pad of my thumbs. It made the tears roll down freely as she brought her hand on my cheek. The cold hand made me shudder and I closed my eyes caging her hand between my shoulder and cheek.
I felt the surrounding move like someone was thrifting the floors and things around. I felt a cold breeze against me and curiously, I opened my eyes only to find us sitting in a garden surrounded by lots of people. Fascinated by it, I snapped my head in all directions and surely there were many people around but then there was a man sitting alone on a bench at the farthest corner. Tasha’s eyes watching him with so much love and hurt that it made me alert.
Does she know him? How? Who is he?
“Damien…” she said under her breath, making me study the man intricately.
As if he could hear her; his head snapped in our direction excitedly or nervously I don’t know.
“Tasha…?” He said making my eyes bulge out.
