“Hush Princess… I’m here.” He cooed and she snuggled more leaving no gap in between them.
He laughed inwardly watching her but his eyes went to the knees which were scratched and blood came out of it.
“Hey! Did you hurt yourself?” He asked politely as she nodded.
“Here…” she pointed to her knees and tried to scratch it but Edward caged her little hands in his palm before checking on it.
“How?” He asked and she averted her gaze.
He stopped and studied her.
Despite of her age, she sometimes acted better than a teenage. She can contemplate and hide things she doesn’t want to share.
“That man was crying sitting alone in a burnt area and I went to console him. He was terrified and stopped his car but it hit me.” She explained best but it made no sense to him.
Has she been dreaming?
“Was it a bad dream?” He asked and she shook her head.
“No! The car hit here.” She pointed and he was left in a dilemma.
Although her words weren’t making any sense but her injury did and it worried him. He glanced around to see if someone was here but to his astonishment, the windows were latched tightly and so was the window.
“Princess, how you went outside?” He asked her hoping she’ll answer.
“It took me there.” She pointed towards the moon leaving him confused.
He swears he’ll lose his mind sooner after her. Shaking his head he hugged her tightly and picked her up to take her to the bathroom. Pulling out a first aid, he attended to her injury and stared at her as she shook her legs back and forth hitting the cabinet door with her little feet.
“Cupc—” He paused as she perked up to face him with her doe-like eyes.
“The other man said the same.” She mumbled to herself with a cute frown on her face.
It amazed Edward and she indeed was cute. He laughed and pinched her cheeks making her groan.
“What are you hiding in here?” he said poking her cheeks as she laughed.
It was the best sight for him. Watching his little Tasha laugh freely was the sweetest thing he had seen till date.
He kissed her forehead and set her down, taking her to his room.
“Want to sleep with me?” He asked hopefully as she grinned and squealed.
“Yay… dad!” She danced and he felt so proud watching her.
“Let’s go then.” She ran and he followed her lead pretending to catch her but failing.
When they came to his room, he picked her up and threw her on his bed before snuggling with her.
“Do you love me?” He asked and she nodded kissing his nose.
“I love you dad.” She said sweetly and bit his cheek making him laugh.
He felt content hearing her answer and slept peacefully with his princess in her arms.

The next morning, Emma woke up to check on Tasha but was scared to find her gone. She rushed around to check her and felt her heart sink when she wasn’t found. Baffled, she decided to inform Edward and knocked on his door.
Unusually, he didn’t open it and she panicked even more. Barging inside she was about to call out his name but stopped when she saw the heart melting sight in front.
On the bed Edward lay asleep with his hands spread wide and Tasha slept on him. She was covering his chest and her little palms were resting on his face.
It touched her because it was the first time in past year and four months that she had seen them asleep together.
Suddenly, Tasha’s little eyes fluttered open and she slid to sit on the bed. Rubbing her eyes, she turned to watch Emma.
Emma was scared. For a second she thought she has seen a demon but it wasn’t. Tasha’s eyes were pitch black and face devoid of any emotion. She stared at her plainly as if reaching her soul, shaking her to her wits.
She watched as Tasha licked her lips and gulped hard making her gulp in the process.
“Ta-Tasha.” She called her name but Tasha watched her with the same intensity.
“I’m thirsty…” Her voice was unusual; more hoarse and deep like she was calling out from a deep well.
“I’ll get you wa-water.” She said and tried to escape the room.
As she turned to close the door behind, she screamed watching Tasha stand beside her.
How co-come she is here?
Emma thought it was impossible for a child to climb down and reach her this fast. Edward jerked awake hearing the shrill voice and the first thought that occurred to him was that maybe Tasha was in danger.
Searching beside him, he found her missing and ran towards the door only to stop in his track.
Emma had both her ears covered with her hands and eyes shut while Tasha was standing close to her watching her with indifference.
The way she had no sign of recognition and the way she was gulping hard and licking her lips, he knew she was thirsty.
“Princess!” He sharply called her and she tilted her head towards him trying to study him closely.
He suddenly remembered Leina’s word back then-
She really looked different. Her eyes drown you and make you feel all those s****l desires and fantasies about her. It happened... with me too.
He cursed mentally to think that way for a five-year old. Feeling disgusted, he averted his eyes trying his best to avoid her eyes.
“Are you thirsty?” He asked and she just stood there watching him.
In the next second, she swooshed and flew in the air halting in front of him.
“Yes…” She said with a deep sexy voice as all the nerves in the downward region erected making him moan inwardly.
He had controlled his urge to kiss her and claim here because his sane mind reminded him that she was Tasha; his Tasha.
“Princess… Do you know me?” He asked and she nodded.
“Ed…” She answered making his breath hitch.
Ed…
I’ll always love you Ed…
It was the nick name which only his Tasha used to say. He snapped his head towards her and watch her face that might look scary for others but it was pierced his heart.
It was unlike his Tasha yet he prayed to find her in this emotionless soul standing infront of him. A greedy part hoped he can keep her this way forever but he knew, it can prove to be dangerous.
“No!” He said sternly.
“I am your Dad…” He watched her face scrunch and little later, her face softened.
Her eyes changed color from black to the muddy brown he was in so love with. He watched her dull face become lively as she tugged his sleeves and pestered him, moving her hips from left to right.
But his mind stuck on one thing.
He thought it was disgusting when she used to call him dad. He would tire telling her he wasn’t but she never understood and today! When he told her he was her dad… he felt happy.
He felt pride in being her father and it made him uncomfortable. His eyes fixated on the brown eyed beauty that was growing impatient. She started stomping her legs crying out asking for milk.
Emma was already by her side as she gave her a sippy cup, caressing her hair. Gladly accepting it, Tasha smiled wiping her tear from one hand and pressed her lips to kiss Emma’s cheek.
“Thank you mama.” She said and leaned into her sipping her milk.
Emma was frightened for a minute but relaxed when she saw her expressions. She sighed in relief and felt intense gaze on her.
Edward was watching her unaware of being caught. Emma felt uncomfortable and tried to push Tasha away to stand but she whined. She tried again but Tasha whined louder making her give up.
Edward smiled and scooped Tasha in her arms from backwards. He carried her to the kitchen counter which faced the sea and sat her on it.
“Now be a good girl for me, will you?” He asked and saw her nod.
“That’s like my Princess.” He kissed her cheek and left to get ready before asking Emma to take care of her.
He needed to find out about the transitions she goes through. If he fails to teach her properly, he might lose her again and this time there wouldn’t be a need of any enemy but her.
