Damien’s POV
Vincent came and ruffled her hair. He sighed and I felt the things around me disappear before a white light surrounded us. The light honking of cars, birds chirping and somewhere nearby police siren filled the once empty space.
Pulling her apart, I found us at her apartment and smiled at the sleepyhead. She was sleeping. Carefully, picking her up and placing on her bed; I tucked her under duvet when angry doorbell caught my attention.
“Coming!” I muttered under my breath, scared to wake up my sleeping angel.
“She is Satan and not Angel.” Vincent sneered as I rolled my eyes at him.
Yeah, I totally forgot about him.
“But I haven’t.” he said and chuckled.
“Why don’t you use things like magic to complete some task rather than… humans?” his eyes lingered on the sleeping form as I hung my head in shame.
He was taunting me and the worst thing was; I wasn’t in a f*****g position to counter that because I indeed done that.
“Here…” He said and we were swooshed in the micro seconds.
Sliding on the floor, I fought to steady myself while on the other hand; he was already beaming opening the door wide.
I was in process to dash into Emma, making my eyes wide and hers shut in anticipation. Luckily, Vincent extended his arm and stopped me from colliding. Once… just for once, I was thankful to have him.
“Well hello, beautiful lady. What is your name?” He smiled at Emma who now recovered and blushed so hard that it made me want to burst in laughter.
That damned man really knows how to use his charm. My laughter died when she watched him and her eyes grew darker and dilated. My fist clenched knowing too well that she was been seduced.
“Emma!” I sharply called her but it didn’t affect her.
“Emma… your friend Damien needs you.” He said rather serious and she glanced at me still with those emotions of her face paying out like on a canvas.
“You need to come out of your head, now!” he was rather uncomfortable and I so badly wanted to smirk but didn’t.
She jerked and then looked down in embarrassment.
“She’s sleeping.” I stated and felt her relieved before she dashed inside, excusing herself.
“Her thoughts were too… X-rated! She is as s****l as she is innocent.” He said staring at the direction Emma left.
“Shut up! I don’t need any details.” I said rather annoyed but in the next minute felt a terrible pain.
Vincent was holding my neck and bowed me down forcefully and this happened all so fast that I couldn’t fight him off.
My eyes were wide and grunted at the pain on my nape.
“Guess, you’re crossing your line with the Master.” He said with gritted teeth.
Oh how could’ve forgotten his big Ego!
“You… This… Isn't… Ego but I… despise you…” He said jolting me with every word and making my head spin.
I tried to focus on a image to escape him but he been jerking my body like it was a stuffed animal, made it impossible.
Right then when I was going to apologize; he left me abruptly making me go face-palm with the ground.
“Dammit!” I hissed in pain, checking on my nose for any blood.
“Who the hell are you?” He sounded cross and it was now when I glanced up.
Black converse, dark jean, white tee with ‘stark industries’ across it and blue cap wearing stood a young man with blue eyes like mine and square shaped face. He had a duchess nose along with thin lips that looked so soft. His hair was short, blonde and slightly curly.
I stood up slowly, dusting off invisible dirt off of me and narrowed my eyes at him. He stared Vincent with confusion but turned to face me and that’s when I recognized him.
He was the same boy I saw when Tasha gave me that pendant in the park few days back. He saw me and the same expression mirroring his face.
“Damien?” He mumbled and zeroed his eyes at me.
“Yes. Who are you and what do you want?” I asked cautiously.
“Tasha.” He answered making me and Vincent alert.
“Relax old men! I am Yuri—Tasha’s brother and guru. Now, if you’ll excuse me” he said rather amused and pushed me aside.
“The nerve of this man!” Vincent growled and I felt a passing breeze before I heard his voice coming behind me.
Turning around, I found him blocking Yuri’s path with arms crossed across his chest.
The guy shivered yet showed no sign of backing out.
“You can’t take her without my permission.” He snapped at Yuri while Yuri shrugged his shoulders.
“Fine with me. Anyways, I ain't here to take her. I am here to keep my promise.” He was answering in riddles that were infuriating us.
“What the f**k that means?” I snapped and went to them.
“It means, I am his trainer and I won’t leave her until I am sure she is acing it. That’s it now stop coming in my personal space; you guys are suffocating me.” He said fidgety and let his bag drop at his side.
“Are you looking for some trouble little boy.” Vincent teased as I could see his intentions.
“I am the Dark Master and there couldn’t be any best trainer for her than me. Especially not a f*****g hormonal teenager!” he yelled the last words in Yuri’s face.
Damn! It even scared me and I am sure Yuri must have pissed in his pants now. Vincent’s face had all the veins straight and I can literary count all of them. His eyes were tinted red and the fangs came out.
Yuri stepped back and stumbled but Vincent was quick to grip his shoulders.
“What are you? Tell me! Why can’t I read your mind and smell you…?” Vincent was rather furious besides he could kill anyone if he wanted to without any resistance so that got me curious.
“Aren’t you the king of the Salvos? Can’t say who I am?” Yuri joked even in this situation.
I concluded that he was a lose screw case. There was no other reason to explain his recklessness except if he is anyone like me.
“I’d have loved to kill you slowly and punishingly just to see if you would be answering back in that situation.” Vincent smiled evilly.
“Yuri!”
Our heads snapped at the direction where half-shocked and half-glad Emma stood at a distance watching us. She appeared scared and I shook my head.
Vincent let him go and it was so sudden that all we heard was a loud thud and a groan followed.
“You old man!” he refuted laying flat on the ground and that triggered Vincent.
“I AIN’T AN OLD MAN!!!” he growled, leaning down on Yuri as supersonic waves erupted from his mouth.
My jaw dropped and saw Yuri’s skin cut open slowly with the force. Blood oozed out instantly and I felt my mouth go dry. I had this urge to taste it but closed my eyes shut and focused on my beating heart.
I am a human! I am a human!
I repeated it until, the urge passed. Times like these were hard to bear with. I was normal unless until someone passes around with strong scent of blood. Things get worse when you can actually smell of their intentions, their past and present from the blood. If there is someone sweet or pregnant the urge gets stronger. More when you know the person is weaker but thankfully, I am able to control my thirst.
I was unable to figure this out when I was unaware of my true identity. At that time, I thought it was just psychology or intentions or hunch that tells me this than during that time I was not at all focussed about my surroundings until that day.
That day when I was jogging and found this girl pass me. She was hurt, her heart ached and I could feel a constant struggle off her. Curious, I chased her and got the whiff of her scent.
It wasn’t cologne nor any product but it was her natural scent—the mulberry and camellia. Feeling a weird sensation growing in my stone cold heart, I raced behind her and saw her slum down on her feet.
She squatted and took deeper breathes trying to get as much oxygen as she can. She was exhausted and I couldn’t help my feet that were already walking upto her.
“Hey! Are you okay?” I asked genuinely.
She was shocked and glanced up at me. Her eyes weren’t focused and she was trying to hide her face… probably tears from me.
I stood there clueless; what was I supposed to do next?
She turned and smiled and my heart got into my mouth.
She was gorgeous!
Her teary gaze and that smile made me forget about everything in that short fraction of time. I had long back forgotten where we were or who I was; the only thing visible was her!
Since then, her scent; that faint beating heart and the urge of tasting her blood was strong enough to diminish the desire to give in to others. It made me ignore it easily and not suffer unknowingly.
Being in relation with her was tough. My darker side; the vampire side is dominant around her while my fairy part is buried somewhere deep inside. I hope I can maintain my fairy part dominating me in front of her but I know I wasn’t. I just got some f*****g genes from my dad which I guess were dormant since birth.
I sighed when Emma’s coherent words interrupted my trail of thoughts.
“Please stop! Yuri… Are you okay? Get up!” Now when I saw, she was already dabbing her scarf on his face trying to stop the cuts that were deep, I must say.
“You should be careful around here.” she was scolding him while Vincent felt like at fault.
He was torn between being sorry or not and I shook my head at this grown man.
No offense but he is old only in numbers; not by looks and definitely not by his brain!
