I sat there for god knows how long. Her steps backed and I lifted my head with hope to see her. She was there with pained expression. Her one eye turned brown while the other was black. She leaned down and gripped my shoulder. She was down on her knees and clinged to me.
The twelve year old was back! She clinged to me like a baby; crying profusely.
“I-I don-t know why I-I did it. I-am so-rry” She mumbled but I was trying to comfort her caressing her hair.
“It’s okay, love. You didn’t do anything. Your daddy here was right on time!” I smiled and felt her sob with hiccups.
“I am sorry daddy.” She muttered not letting me go.
Vincent’s POV
I sniffed the air deeply. My heart brewed with in-suppressible happiness catching the whiff of her.
“She’s here” I muttered under my breath and could feel the joy passing through my nerves, making every cell in the body alive.
“Master” Lucian’s voice interrupted my thought as I turned around to face him.
He was bowing down to me and I asked him to get up.
“There is some unusual happenings reported outside the Salvos but as per reports, it is indeed some supernatural power.” His words shocked me.
Is he talking about Tasha?
“How’s it happening?” I asked nonchalantly as he nodded his head.
“Humans and animals are dying mysteriously and we couldn’t catch the smell of the invader.” He said not even blinking for once.
Nor that he does, or we do but we have practiced it to appear normal to the human world.
“What ways, you said?” I asked and he was quick to dash outside the room and came back with four set of books, a pen and a paper.
“They say that the people are drained off blood left to die while others say, they were eaten up badly.” He said and my eyebrows rose.
“Eaten and drained?” that was something new.
“The other thing is, it isn't limited to the human world but here as well. Few vamps were reported missing and there are speculations that they have met with the same fate what more? We cannot trace their smell as well.” He said passing me one of the book that had yesterday’s written in Elizabethan style.
“Ummm… Leave it and go.” I dismissed him but could feel his aura change a little bit.
Snapping my head at him, I saw he was still standing there.
“With your permission my lord, can I ask something?” His curious and hopeful voice indicated me and I nodded urging him to continue.
“Is Tasha really back?” He asked worriedly and I frowned.
“is there an issue with that?” I asked with cold tone as he shook his head.
“Just worried if people found it out and relates the new situation with her; I hope it doesn’t come up to that.” However genuine he sounded; the distant look in eyes dominated.
“Hopefully!” I answered gravely and he nodded before bowing down again and left dissolving in thin air.
I cannot forget that day when she came willingly to the Salvos. He hated her and was planning to teach her a lesson. Even though it was years back but I cannot forgive anyone trying to think to harm her or troubled her.
“Let’s see the incidents first.” I mumbled and wrapped the cloak around myself before disappearing in the night sky to the heavy rain place—London!
It poured heavily and the street was in eerie silence. There was no person in sight and it got me thinking the fear among people. It wasn’t that late and the once bustling city was in strange silence.
My eyes roamed around and I tried to inhale any scent off the surrounding. There was none other than the fear, sweat, hesitation and strong heartbeats nearby. I flew some distance and arrived at the mass clearing outside the city. There was a fire somewhere near and I floated in air to the source. The fire was near a forest but there were blood spots on the dried leaves visible to me. I knelt on one knee and touched the blood. It was fresh and the instant I touched it, the memories of the person who it belonged to ran in my head like a fast forward movie.
It belonged to a girl who was pure and the excitement of her sneaking to the campfire before she was killed was clear. Unfortunately, the moment she was killed was blurred and I tried hard to relive the moment which was difficult. I only saw her enjoying singing against the fire with her friends before one shrieked. The guy sitting next to her jumped and tried to run holding her wrist but was attacked from back and he fell silent. She turned around and things went blur. Her scream echoed in my brain, disturbing me.
Instantly, I dropped the leaf and stepped back. It wasn’t a good sign. I cannot be weak. Never before, was affected by anything. I have seen and faced worst deaths but somehow my mind was fogged with her scream.
I need to get my head straight. As if on cue, my mind went back to another girl; my childe, my baby girl Tasha!
I needed to see if she was okay. Even though she was under everyone’s attention but I needed to see her. Vanishing, I reached her apartment but there was no one. Curiously, I tried to focus on her with my eyes closed but she was untraceable which was weird. There got to something to lead to her. I know she was safe, I can feel that but there was a pit growing in my stomach that made me nervous in apprehension.
She might be in trouble; that’s for sure!
Agitated for not being able to find her, I paced around the floor. Suddenly, the words of Shaman came floating in my mind.
She’s stronger than you, darker than your soul.
She rules three world—Salvos, Earth and Keol.
Power she draws from Salvos; Love from Earth.
Keoul makes her twisted, dark and evil self on surface.
My eyes bulged out! If she isn't here on Earth nor in Salvos that leaves her to be in…
Dammit!
I’ve gotta save her. I remember Shaman saying that she has Keoul living in her but if she reaches to that place; it will only diminish her innocence and purity and makes a Ruthless Vamphoenix that she is meant to be.
I don’t know how to find that place but it was definitely inside her head. This was a tough challenge. Only one person can help me with that.
Miss Douglas!
‘Yes Master!’ Katie’s voice came in my head.
‘Send me to Keoul; Tasha’s head.’ I commanded but wasn’t sure if she was able to.
It was another few seconds when she appeared in front of me and kept her head low.
“Master, I ain't sure if that would work but I can only try.” She said fearing.
“Yes, please go ahead.” I said.
I won’t be blaming her for futile attempt because definitely it was difficult. It would be next to miracle if she actually got me to the right place.
She rummaged through her bag and laid down herbs and salts along with candles and powder on the floor.
She carefully drew a circle and made a star enclosed in it. She placed five white candles in each corner of the star and lighted them spreading some white and purple salts around her and the floor. She placed a photo of Tasha in front of her and started doing her locator spell. I could sniff her nervousness off her but she was calmed as she got the sets ready.
“Master, please take a seat in the circle.” She said and I did.
It was awkward taking orders from someone and absurd sitting in a circle.
“Now please close your eyes and focus on Tasha.” She said and a smile crossed my lips.
That was a piece of cake for me. It is only her that has me wrapped around her little finger.
As per her instructions, I shut my eyes and could see Tasha’s face smiling brightly at me. I could feel the embrace she gave me when I met her now. It was damn real and I was lost in the warmth of her embrace that couldn’t feel the surrounding change before I heard another beating heart and smell of arousal.
My eyebrows knitted together and instantly opened my eyes.
There she was…
In a dark room with her red glowing eyes, she tore Damien’s shirt apart and trailed her fingers over his chest. Lust evident on her face and my jaw clenched.
She appeared the goddess of s*x right now which was unlike my baby girl and evil at the same time.
“Be mine!” She said leaning on his neck.
As her fingers gripped his throat and dig her face in his neck, I knew her intentions. She wanted to drink his blood. Her vampiric genes were dominating her and the hunger blinded her. She was tempted with the exhilarating fairy’s blood.
And before she regrets, I needed to stop her. Flying to them, I heard Damien wince but was in time to push her off him.
She flew back and landed straight on the wall hitting her head and back with a strong impact.
I was fuming with anger when she growled like a wounded animal and took her place in defense. She was planning to attack me but I didn’t step back.
“Stay away!” She growled but I stayed intact.
As I prepared to attack her, Damien ran upto her and she extended her hand to touch him hopefully thinking to grab him but instantly, I pulled him back and threw him on the bed again.
“Don’t move!” I warned agitated.
This asshole is throwing him and her in danger. Can’t he take the hint?
“I said stay away!” She yelled furious at not being able to have him.
And with that, she jumped on me with her long claws like that of kitten. It startled me as she was burning hot but I regained my composure and ducked away. She growled again and turned fast at the lightning speed.
She pounced, landing on my back as I fell flat and scratched me like a wild cat. It hurt me but I turned throwing her away (this time a little harder).
She lay with eyes crossed and heaving chest.
“You don’t hurt the ones you love baby girl.” I spoke softly but she just huffed at me.
Dashed towards me, scratched my face making me lose my balance with dizziness. I felt Damien behind me as he helped me steady.
“Don’t go near her.” I mumbled under my breath stopping him to go anywhere near her but she was trying to manipulate him.
It was infuriating me when he started walking towards her, yanking my hand away. She smirked at me as he walked under hypnotism.
“Damien, come back!” I growled and quickly push him away when she jumped on him. She missed it by a second and landed face-straight on the floor but she flew straight and screamed in anger.
“Tasha!” Damien called but it did affect me.
She was scarier. She was dangerous.
“You aren’t this, love. You are a generous, loving and caring person. You don’t know how to hurt your loved ones.” Damien said and took small steps towards her.
She was still growling lowly but appeared to be listening.
“Look at him, he is your dad. See, what you’ve done to him.” He said and I was amazed as she turned slightly and saw me.
“I love you more than anything and I know you do too. You said it too. You love him as well like he does. If you still want to hurt me, I am at your disposal.” His words were getting to her.
Slowly kneeling down with head bowed, he awaited for her to attack. I thought he was crazy and decided to stop but he wasn’t giving up. She was hesitant staring between me and him. After a while, she backed away as her red eyes changed to black and brown. She was upset with her and cried before clinging to Damien and apologizing.
I sighed in relief as she apologized to me. It was fine with me when she was back to her normal self but the new reality of hers was shocking. I don’t know how I am going to save her from herself!
