This Summit is just turning out to be just fan-flippin-tastic. I was so grateful for Bane taking me out of that meeting. I couldn’t even process things right in this state. He took care of me, loved me, and promised he wouldn’t leave me. So why did I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that my happiness was about to be interrupted?

I had been awake for about thirty minutes, just lost in my own thoughts. It was mid-day at this point and I knew the meeting was probably stopping for lunch.

‘Chase, how’s the meeting going?’ I linked him, feeling more and more like he needed to be the Alpha, not me.

‘B, you’re supposed to be resting.’ He was concerned, of course he was.

‘I just woke up.’ Maybe he would talk now?

I could hear him sigh through the link. ‘Honestly, Alpha, it’s brutal.’ Oh snap, he used my title. It was serious.

‘They keep on insisting that our pack needs to merge with another pack, so we have greater numbers, and a male alpha. They are still under the impression females can’t lead. I’m ready to tear their heads off for insulting the way you run the pack. We’ve never had an issue until Luther. I don’t know, B. It feels like they’re trying to take advantage of the situation.’

He was done and I was frozen. How dare they question how I run my pack. ‘I’ll be there in thirty minutes.’ With that coldness, I shut the mind link and forcefully got out of bed, making Bane sit with a start.

“Sorry, I didn’t meant to make you panic. I’m just furious with the council right now and I need to get up. “ I leaned down and kissed him softly, sparks tingling through my entire body, making my knees try to buckle.

“I thought someone was trying to take you. Be more careful next time sunshine. What did the council do?” He asked, getting up and redressing himself with his clothes from earlier.

“Chase said they’re questioning how I run my pack, since I’m a female. He said they’re insisting, still, we merge with another pack to have greater numbers, and a MALE Alpha. Even though I’ve found you, my f*****g mate, they’re still trying to take my pack from me.” I was telling him all this as I angrily got dressed.

I looked up at him to see the slight smirk on his face, and gave him a scowl. “What’s so funny?” I asked, crossing my arms across my chest.

He shook his head. “I thought it was hot earlier when you stood up to Luther, but damn baby, you’re so f*****g sexy like this. All angry and pissed off at the world. “ He was grinning now, stupid bastard. He knew how intoxicating that smile was for me, even with barely knowing me.

“Shut up. Let’s go.” I said rolling my eyes and heading out of the door. I was feeling much better than earlier. One problem at a time, right? Luther later, putting the council and every other alpha in there in their place, now. I hurried down the stairs, Bane close behind me. I saw Victoria in the living room, but didn’t stop to chat, I was an Alpha on a mission.

“Hey gu-whaaaaat is she doing? “ She asked, and I could tell she was now behind Bane.

“She’s on a mission, be prepared.” He joked, but he was so serious at the same time. My guys didn’t even ask questions, they saw my face and they just followed. Chase probably linked them after our conversation.

Once we got to the halls, I threw the doors open, causing some gasps and mumbles. I didn’t care, they were about to see exactly how weak I really was. I stood at the end of the table, closest to the doors and looked at every one of them. They needed to see, they needed to know who I really am. It was the only way all of this was going to stop. They’d always be threatening my position as alpha. Always trying to find another way to get rid of me. In your dreams bastards.

“You know, it’s not very becoming to speak about an Alpha’s pack the way you all have, without the Alpha present. “ Some of the Alpha’s averted their gaze, struck a nerve. “And since you all can’t seem to get it through your f*****g thick ass skulls that I, a female, is Alpha, I’ll have to show you who I really am. Which, by the way, puts every single person in this room at risk. I hope you’re happy. “ I spew the words out like venom, gripping tightly to the table.

I caught Chase’s eye and he was shell shocked, his eyes were wide and he took a big gulp. He knew what was about to happen. He’d seen it only twice before and it intimidated him every single time.

“There are stories about the Moon Goddess bestowing her gifts upon a lucky wolf. This wolf is said to be of royalty and is to be as close to the Goddess as possible, without actually being the Goddess herself. It’s preplanned centuries in advance. “ I paused for a moment for them to catch up, using their small minds. Before I continued, I started to take out my contacts.

“You see, this wolf in the stories is supposed to come from a line of something is frowned upon the highest. A line that would end up being more powerful than any other if it took hold. “ I took out the last contact and closed my eyes. This was it, they were going to see exactly who I was. “A hybrid line. “ With that, I opened my eye, showing them the blood red orbs.
