************** Hello my lovely readers! I would like to apologise for not getting an update out sooner. I've had some personal things going on, making writing very difficult. I have started some new medication, and it's taking a good while to get used to it. We've also had to move my mother in law into our home, and I have two small boys. Plus we've had family members that have Covid-19. It's just been a very rough go lately.  I am determined to get updates to you faster, and sooner, even if they aren't that long. I'm looking to make two updates a day, if possible. They may not be 12 pages long, but at least it's something. I'm so grateful to everyone that's been reading, and I hope you continue to read as I update.  Please, please bare with me during this time.  Sky **************   Narrator P.O.V When two people meet, usually they take the time to get to know each other. To see if they fit together. This can take years, and years. When you’re a supernatural being, all it takes is a look in the eye, or a swift sniff. Then it’s for life. You mate, you have children, and you’re with the same person for the rest of your life, usually just as in love as when you first met. Werewolves mate for life. If one half dies, it’s not unheard of for the other half to follow shortly. Some survive it, and they are the strongest for it. They don’t usually get a second chance, they’ve had their mate in life already. Sometimes, though, the Goddess is merciful. She has pity on her children, and creates a new mate for them. Sometimes, she can be a little devil about it. That’s the case for Katherine Daniels. She grew up in a small town in Scotland. Her parents were loving werewolves, but she was not their biological daughter. She knew this from the time she was about five and saw her parents change for the first time. It wasn’t something they hid from her. They kept telling her she was one of them, but she never felt her wolf. The only thing different about her, the color of her eyes. Sure some people have blue, green, even golden eyes. Katherine had purple. Her eyes were the color of the pretties amethyst stone you could think of. It matched her slightly tan skin and her raven black hair just perfectly. The Elders of her parents pack, her pack, had always said it was the Moon Goddess’ blessing on the child. That her parents were meant to adopt her, because they were werewolves themselves, the Moon Goddess’ children. Katherine never paid any mind to the stories that were told about her and her family. The day of her 18th birthday, she had been feeling strange the entire day. Nothing was different, there wasn’t any new visitors in the villa. Yet, she couldn’t shake the feeling that change was coming. And it wouldn’t be what anyone would expect. Her mother had chalked it up to her nerves. Now that she was of age, she would find her mate. Or rather, her mate would find her. Her parents needed, wanted, her to find a werewolf mate. The love that man would have given her would have been amazing. A most epic type of love. The Moon Goddess had different plans though. She wanted them to meet, to find each other sure, but then she was going to take him from her and leave her with the worst. The first time Katherine saw him, she knew. She was pretty sure he knew as well, because he was practically leaping across the room to get to her. Her parents had been invited to a gala of sorts, which they never expected to attend. But to refuse, would be a dishonor on their family. So they came, and brought their adoring daughter along, in hopes she’d find her mate. She never expected him to come across the room like that. Her heart was racing and her parents watched as their daughter finally met her mate. The tall, brooding man had stopped within inches of her face and she held her breath unknowingly. “Mine.” He growled and her eyes got wide and she just nodded. He took a deep breath and then took a step back from her, as if sizing her up. He closed his eyes for longer than she liked. “What is your name? “ He asked, eyes still closed. “Kathrine Fay Daniels.” She stated, still watching him wide eyed. His face contorted , like her name did something to him. His actions didn’t prove that however. “I, Mitchel Lewis DeAngelo reject you, Kathrine Fay Daniels as my fated mate. Do you accept?” Why were his eyes still closed as he spoke? Kathrine’s eyes filled with water and she looked at her parents who shook their head no. Her heart, however, made the decision for all of them. “I accept your rejection.” They both doubled over as the pain of cutting the bond soared through them. He opened his eyes and took a step closer to her, helping her up. He gently stroked her cheek and gave her the smallest smile. “I would never have been good enough for you, Kathrine. I’m at least twice your age, and I’ve got a chosen mate. I hope you understand. “ He said softly before kissing her forehead and leaving her there, tears already silently streaming down her face. She looked to her parents, who looked mortified. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. Her mate was supposed to love her instantly. Why had her parents never prepared her for rejection? It hurt. It hurt more than she could ever express to anyone. “Rejection isn’t easy for anyone. You handled that rather well.” His voice was so soothing, it made her close her eyes as he spoke to her. “But he was right, he wouldn’t have been good enough for you.” She didn’t turn to look at him, but she was already swooning over him. “Thank you. I understand why he did it though, I’ll forever be grateful to him for that. “ She said softly, watching Mitchel with his chosen mate. They looked happy, even if the smile he was wearing didn’t reach his eyes. He was hurting just like she was, but at least he had comfort. “You’re stronger than you look.” His voice came right next to her ear, causing her to jump slightly. He grabbed her arms to steady her and sparks shot across her body, making her gasp softly. She could hear his rugged breath behind her. “I wasn’t expecting that. Turn to look at me, mon amour.” She shook her head no. Her heart wouldn’t be able to handle it if she got another rejection. She felt him move from behind her, to in font of her and she lowered her head. “I won’t reject you. “ He whispered, as if willing her to open her eyes. Him saying that caused her to open her eyes quickly and look at him. Best to get this all over with. A small gasp escaped her lips as she stared into the beautiful red orbs in front of her. “Mine. “ They whispered at the same time. It caused the whole party to stop and everyone was starting at the pair. “This is not happening. Kathrine, you will reject him immediately! “ She heard her mother shout, but she was too far gone in his eyes to pay her any mind. “You’re a vampire.” She reached up and stroked his cheek gently, he hissed at the sparks her touch left. “You’re a loup-garou.” He smiled, his eyes catching the confusion in her own. “Werewolf.” He simply stated. She was going to have to learn French to keep up with him. “You’re not going to reject me?” Her voice was so small, he frowned. “Never.” With that, he sealed their fate with a kiss. ****************************** Bailey P.O.V I watched as Bane processed the story. It was a lot to take in. “My family comes from a line of Hybrids, because the Moon Goddess wanted it to be, so it was. I was actually expecting to be mated to a vampire myself, but apparently it's only every third generation that gets the joy of being mated to a vampire. So one of our kids will be mated to a vampire.” I told him, adding more to his plate to think about. He hadn’t sad a word yet, just stared at me, at my eyes. I bit my lip, trying so hard not to spurt out more information that he really didn’t need to know, but this silence was killing me. There are only a few people who know the exact story of how my family became hybrids, now he’s one of them. Before I could open my mouth to say something else, Bane planted his lips on mine in a breathtaking kiss. When he pulled away, I stared at him, blinking slowly. “What was that for?” I asked, my voice coming out breathy. He smiled at me. “You were thinking about kids, with me. You said our kids. I felt like I should kiss you for that. ” He gave a slight shrug like it was no big deal. I laughed. “Of course I want kids with you. You’re my mate. “ He grinned, but then his face fell slightly. “ We have things to talk about Foxy.” His tone had gotten serious and I was slightly worried. What things? What did we possibly have to talk about that I hadn’t already told him. Our pack. My wolf huffed in annoyance that I hadn’t thought about that part yet. We were both Alpha’s. We both had packs. Thousands of miles apart. Well this was shitty. “Our packs?” I questioned with a sigh and he just nodded. This wasn’t a subject either of us wanted to talk about, but we needed to get it out of the way before the Summit was over. He would go to his pack, and I would go to mine. “I have a small pack, compared to yours. I could always appoint another Alpha to take my place.” He was already starting to make decisions, I could tell. I shook my head. “You let some else take over that pack, you father will have it by that next full moon.” His eyes widened like he hadn’t thought of that. “Damn. You’re right.” He spoke softly, hanging his head. I didn’t want that pack to suffer because of me. Chase could take my spot, he’d basically been the Alpha for the last six months anyway. “I’ll step down. Chase can take over as Alpha.” I said without skipping a beat. This wasn’t up for discussion, I’d already told Chase I was stepping down after the Summit, this was a perfect and understandable reason. “We could merge our packs. I could move mine up here to yours.” He was finding away for me to keep my status, it was sweet. “I don’t think you pack would like their Luna very much if she made them pack all their things and move thousands of miles from their homelands.” I sighed. The only way was for Chase to take over. Bane shook his head. “They need a reason to move. Everyone is still terrified of my father. Being so close has everyone on edge. If we merged, they’d be a lot safer. We’d both be Alpha’s still. “ I didn’t say anything as I thought about it. He had a good point, his pack needed to feel safe. But would Ember Moon be okay with merging with Crimson Fang? We were a well respected pack, they’d definitely heard of us. “We’d have to change the name of the pack. “ I thought for a moment. “Crimson Ember. Moon Fang. CEMR.” I was rattling off names and I could see he was trying to hold back a laugh. “Those are terrible. “ He said, still holding back a laugh. I shrugged. “I couldn’t take a whole new pack in without changing out name.” “We could always put it to a vote. If the packs feel like we should change it, then we’ll think about that then. Right now, I think keeping Crimson Fang is better for all of us. You guys are scary.” He said finally letting out a small chuckle. We were scary. Well, not really. It’s just a facade we put on to make the other packs think we were scary. I’m not some blood thirsty Alpha, but my red eyes have come in handy to spook a few rouges. That’s probably how the rumors started. My stomach growled at just the right time to bring me out of my thoughts. Bane chuckled and stood up, holding his hand out for me. “Let’s go feed you before that thing takes over. We kinda skipped lunch.” I couldn’t help the blush that spread to my cheeks or the laugh that came out of my lips. Bane was perfect, he was my everything. He was so accepting, and so interested to learn about me. I’d never had that before, even with Chase. I never felt this close to anyone before. “ That sounds perfect.” I said taking his hand before we headed down to the kitchen. There were still two days left of the Summit. Two days and I’d have to leave for my pack and he’d leave for his. Two days for me to get with the program, mate him and let him mark me. Two days for my world to change even more than it already had. I’m not so sure I’m ready for that.
