Is that Adrian?

1696 Words
"Of course sir. I'll meet with him." Laura speaks over the phone. "I know you are on a leave. Thank you." Laura smiles from where she stands in her room, knowing fully well that Lucien can not see her actions, yet it is a courtesy embedded in her whenever on a call with Lucien. Either that or being professional. However, regarding their particular discussion, Laura feels grateful for having an employer like Lucien, in such way that he never for once introduced a feeling of regret or exhaustion of working for him, rather, it has been a pleasure all through for Laura. Which makes it difficult for Laura to acquire a means of informing Lucien of she and Adrian's relationship, eventually if she decides to accept Adrian's request. "It is always a pleasure working for you Mr Lucien. Please do not feel indebted." Laura responds, earning an acknowledgment from Lucien before the two end their conversations. Laura drops her phone on the bed, as a sigh escapes her lips while she removes her clothes, stripping naked to take her shower for the morning. As Laura enters her bathroom, her reflection through the mirror is what greets her, taking her to walk closer to it. She stares into her hazel eyes, along with the bags under them of not following her sleeping schedule due to a certain addition in her activities. Such as spending late nights with Adrian. Laura recalls back to the previous day of having escorted Adrian to an orphanage home and the experience she encountered by seeing Adrian wrapping his hands around that little boy to console him from his painful traumatic past. Sighting such actions from Adrian to the little boy whom he has no relations to, proves to Laura of how much more there is to Adrian Alimson than what the tabloids write about. Unlike her ex boyfriend, Harry, whom only did righteous deed for the public eye. But Adrian is different, as to him Laura assumes he neither cares what the tabloids write about him, as long as he is justified to himself, making her to recall how he is certain to reveal proofs to her than just feeding her his words. Knowing thoughts of Adrian and his proposal, is only going to in turn make her late to the abrupt meeting Lucien requested of her to attend with a business partner of his, Laura averts all thoughts of Adrian, before proceeding to take her shower and get dressed for the day. —————————— Laura exits the tall building of the enterprise after concluding her meeting with Allen whom Lucien, requested of her to meet. Laura let's out a decent smile on her lips, of feeling satisfied and proud of herself of being able to conclude yet another contract for Lucien successfully. Laura wraps the scarf on her neck properly from the cold breeze she receives of the emerging winter period in New York, while her gaze moves around searching for a taxi to take her back to her hotel when her gaze sights familiar buildings around the environment. Gradually, Laura recalls reasons as to her familiarity, taking a smile to creep upon her lips, before she crosses the street to a particular building opposite where she had her meeting, one also known as, St Lois specialist hospital. Laura walks into the building, down to a particular private ward which she recalls, by her first arrival with Adrian, taking her to knock gently on the brown alloy door, before pushing slightly in, where she meets Fiona, inches away from the door. “Laura!” Excitement fills Fiona’s aged skin, while staring at a woman whom she least expected to visit her. “Hello Fiona,” Laura holds the same form of cheerfulness and excitement on her face, such that when she reaches Fiona, she pulls her into a hug gently. “How are you?” Laura inquires from the aged woman, still with her embrace around her and her knees squatting the floor. “I am very well.” Fiona answers eagerly. “I presumed you went back to France?” Fiona questions Laura, with a hint of perplexity in her expression. “Well Fiona, it seems I have more to do here than I envisaged.” Laura answers, trying to avoid lying to aged woman, at the same time preventing from snitching herself from the falsehood she told to her grandson. “Either ways, I am ecstatic to see you here again.” Fiona caresses gently on the skin of Laura’s hands. “Where is Adrian? I haven’t seen him,” Fiona curves her frail neck to have a sight at her open door in search of her grandson. “He didn’t come with me.” Laura says. “I didn’t inform him I was coming to visit you for it was unexpected. I had a meeting just a few blocks from here, when I recalled the familiar buildings and knew I had to check up on you, while I am around.” Laura explains, whereas Fiona smiles gracefully. “Oh well, I am indeed grateful for your concerns.” Fiona greets Laura appreciatively. “Lest I do forget, I got these on the way for you. They looked vibrant and beautiful and when I saw them, they instantly reminded me of you.” Laura presents the bouquet of camellia flowers to Fiona, taking her smile to grow even wider. “You are so kind Laura, I feel blessed.” Fiona speaks in truth of her feelings, such that Laura praises herself for having such a thought for Fiona. From where the two stay, Laura gaze sights a few pictures all in frames on Fiona desk table, peeking her curiosity from where she stands, for it resembles a certain billionaire that she has come to know of. “Is that Adrian?” Laura inquires inquisitively, while she moves closer to the frames. “No, that is my son. Anthony, Adrian’s father.” Fiona responds while facing Laura’s back. Laura’s gaze settles on the picture in the frame, as a weak smile makes it way to her lips hearing Fiona’s words, for she has come to know Adrian lost his parents at a very young age. “Adrian looks so much like him.” Laura turns to face Fiona while speaking, whereas she responds with a weak smile. “ He must remind you of him,” Laura adds, as this time her tone comes soft. “Every time.” Fiona speaks, taking Laura to notice the sadness that begins to gloom her eyes. “I’m sorry,” Laura battles with manners to which she can place her words, yet, finds just little to say. “It is a good thing Laura, you do not need to apologize, for I get to still see my son in my grandson. Even if Adrian believes in solving his problems himself and Anthony was quite the opposite, they are still both my sons.” Fiona speaks in hopes of seeing the positivity in her situation. “What do you mean by Adrian believing in solving his problems on his own?” Laura inquires from Fiona, as she can’t resist the urge of finding such particular statement of interest to her, which in turn, takes Fiona to smile lightly at the French woman in front of her, for she sees what neither Adrian nor Laura sees in themselves. “Why don’t you sit down my dear, while I tell you something.” ——————— Adrian’s disinterest showcases evidently at the blonde, who exposes her cleavage to him, along with the red skimpy dress she wears. One which hardly covers her behind. “You’re not even listening to me Adrian, I’m talking to you.” Adrian runs his hand over his hair in distraught, finding the discussion he and the blonde is having to be exhausting. “Chelsea, there is nothing else for me to say. You are clearly not listening. What we had is gone and you called it off. Even if our relationship was just to blow off some steam, I was fine with your decision and I still am. I can’t deal with your indecisiveness all the time.” Adrian informs Chelsea, taking her gaze to go wide at his statement. “Did you just call me indecisive Adrian?” Chelsea whom clearly heard Adrian’s words loud and clear questions, with her pump heels echoing the room while walking closer to Adrian. “Yes Chelsea, not everything daddy has to do for you.” Adrian adds, talking to the heiress. “Oh wow! Yet, that skipped your mind while you f****d me!” Chelsea’s tone grows angrier, while she stares at Adrian whom acts untouched. “Point of correction, we both f****d each other. Plain truth.” Adrian speaks, causing fury to emerge into Chelsea. Adrian sighs in debilitation, as he blames himself with such situation which he is in, for if he hadn’t let his lust for skin exposure attract him to Chelsea, she wouldn’t be in his office at the present time. Adrian’s gaze meets with Chelsea before they roam around her body, clearly knowing, Chelsea is not in his class of women he can date, for he never dates a daddy’s girl and Adrian is only seen with women whom can relate in terms of business conversation, and Chelsea is indeed far from such. Speaking of business conversations, Adrian’s concentration is taken off Chelsea when a phone call, radiating off a certain females name rings through. A certain female he has come to take a peculiar interest in. Laura Eduoard. “Hello,” Adrian picks up his call instantly. “Hi Adrian. Can we meet this evening? I have made my decision.” Laura speaks over the phone, taking adrenaline to surge through Adrian, such that even if he is in a meeting he is willing to cancel for the words Laura utters to him. “Of course. I’ll pick you up by seven.” Adrian responds, while neglecting the blonde whom stands in front him in fury.
