Chapter 26

Leah’s P.O.V

  I knew mom was about to start her fight and although I had spoken to her this morning, I still really wanted to be there, but dad said no, not until this threat is over. I had only ever been to one of my moms fights, but I had been with her before every fight to cheer her on and wish her luck, so it felt horrible not being with her. I was currently pacing the bedroom floor, going stir crazy in here, so I decided to go downstairs to see what Kodi was doing. I was just about to knock on the door when I smelled a strange scent and heard a commotion inside.

  “GET OFF ME! I HAVE A MATE AND I DON’T WANT YOU!! LEAVE ME ALONE!! I AM WARNING YOU!!!” Kodi shouted and then I heard a female voice laughing.

  “Oh, but Alpha, I know she can’t please you like I can.” The woman said and that pissed me off. There was another female in there trying to touch my mate. MY MATE!! MY f*****g MATE!!! I kicked the door open so hard that it slammed into the wall and the she-wolf that was trying to touch and grind on my mate quickly jumped off Kodi’s lap. She stood there smirking, probably thinking that I didn’t know what was going on and that I was going to flip out and reject Kodi, but she was wrong.

  “Leah, I can explain, I promise.” Kodi said, standing up.

  “No need to explain, I heard everything.” I replied, not taking my eyes off the she-wolf, who now looked terrified.

  “s**t. I didn’t know she heard anything, let alone everything. I thought I could just come in here, kiss him and then she would come in here and reject Kodi straight away, then leave. Why the f**k did she have to listen?” The she-wolf thought in her mind, which only made me laugh.

  “Er honey, you really should close your mind to others when you think something like that. I just heard everything that you thought.” I said and the she-wolf looked even more scared, but also confused. She didn’t have time to reply to me as I grabbed a handful of her hair and forced her to look at me.

  “DO YOU KNOW WHO THE f**k I AM?! I’M THE f*****g LUNA b***h!! IF YOU EVER PUT YOUR HANDS ON MY MATE OR LAY SO MUCH AS A FINGER ON ANOTHER MATED WOLF I SWEAR TO THE MOON GODDESS THAT IT WON’T BE YOUR HANDS I BREAK, IT WILL BE YOUR f*****g NECK!!!” I shouted, growling at her as I grabbed her hand and yanked it back so hard that her wrist broke.

  “AHHHHH!!!” She screamed out as I let go of her. She dropped to her knees, clutching her arm to her and bowing her head, showing me her neck as a sign of submitting to me, her Luna. she knew not to challenge me ever again. I grabbed her arm and dragged her to the door of the office, then tossed her out of it.

  Kodi’s P.O.V

  “Go to the pack doctors and get your wrist looked at.” Leah said, then slammed the door in her face. She turned and started walking towards me, but I slowly backed away from her. Yeah, sure, I was an Alpha, but she was not only an Alpha’s daughter and my Luna, she was also an Alpha as well. I was waiting for her to get mad at me and smack me upside the head for not kicking the she-wolf out sooner, but then she surprised me by pulling me toward her and kissing me.

  “You’re mine. I’m not about to let some slutty she-wolf take you that fast and easy.” Leah said, making me smirk.

  “Good because I feel exactly the same way. Personally I think that she-wolf got off lightly compared to what I would do if a male tried anything with you. I would rip his head off his shoulders.” I replied and she started to laugh a little. 

  “Come on, I’m starving, so let's go eat.” Leah said and I nodded.

  “You know you're as mean as your mom.” I said and she smiled from ear to ear.

  “Thank you.” She said, making me chuckle. It was definitely taken as it was meant, as a compliment.

  Carla’s P.O.V

  An hour had passed by and there was still no sign of my challenger, so Brandon and I had come back inside and were now in his office trying to find out what was happening, when suddenly we heard people outside. I looked outside and saw everyone gathering for the fight and then I saw a van pull up. I watched as the can parked up and a young woman got out, meaning it had to be her, it had to be Cedar or Bel, whatever the f**k her name is. She was about the same height as me, but she had brown hair tied back into a high ponytail and she had a really nice figure too. She had a man walking beside her, but I had no clue if it was her mate or her couch. The woman stood near the circle, just as Brandon came into the office and saw me looking out the window.

  “Are you ready for this?” Brandon asked and I nodded, but never took my eyes off her.

  “Yeah, let's do this, so I can call Leah. win or lose I know I’m going to have some fun.” I said, turning to face him. Brandon and I walked out of his office and out the back door of the pack house to the fighting circle that had been laid out. The whole time my pack was cheering for me and it made me happy to know they had my back. Other packs were there as well, including the Red Moon Pack and the Forest Moon pack, there was also a new pack called The Clear Water Pack. There were so many wolves gathered in one territory that we all knew it could be trouble and cause some problems, but it could also cause a few alliances as well, so how rough could it be? I thought as I got into the middle of the ring. Brandon walked in behind me and stood in between us.

  “Here we have Carla Rufus and her challenger Cedar. The rules are there are no rules, you fight until you can’t fight anymore. Are you ready fighters?” Brandon announced and we both nodded.

  “Then let’s fight….three...two...one...BEGIN!” Brandon announced, stepping out of the ring. Cedar and I began to circle each other and I wondered which of us would go first, but then I saw it. The knife. It was strapped to Cedar’s side and I knew that I would have to make sure she either couldn’t or wouldn’t use it.
