Carla’s P.O.V
Today was the day of my fight and I wanted to warm up before my challenger got here. I still had no idea who this woman was. All I knew was her name was Bel, but everything else about her they had kept hidden for some reason and no matter how hard Brandon tried he couldn’t get anymore information about her, except that she was tough and in her whole fighting career had only been beaten twice. I had never been beaten and I wanted to keep it that way, so I wanted to train harder today. I took a quick shower, dried off and then got dressed in my shorts and sports bra, but then put a shirt over it. There was no harm if it didn’t show anything that wasn’t supposed to be seen, but Brandon was the jealous type, so it was just better to do it this way. I decided to just warm up in my bedroom and then go down for breakfast as there was no point going all the way to the gym. I started to shadow box for thirty minutes, then I did squats, leg lifts, kicks and flips, until I was finally done warming up. I went down to the kitchen to see if anyone had cooked breakfast and if not then I would cook breakfast for everyone, but when I walked into the kitchen there was a plate already set out and from the looks of it breakfast had already been done. I walked over to the plate and my mouth was watering to see an omelette that had tomato, ham, cheese and bacon mixed into it.
“Girl, stop drooling over my food. Here, I made you one too.” Eppes said, walking into the kitchen.
“Sorry, but it smelled so good.” I replied, laughing as she handed me my plate. I sat down at the breakfast bar and we began to eat our food, enjoying every bite.
“So, are you ready for this fight? I heard this girl was strong and has only been beaten twice, but the only other thing I know about her is her name, Cedar, like the wood.” Eppes asked, confusing me.
“I thought her name was Bel, that's what I was told. Her name was Bel and she has only lost twice.” I said, but Eppes just shrugged her shoulders.
“I don’t know, maybe it's crossed wires or something or maybe they are trying to throw you off your game. Either way I heard she is very dangerous and carries a silver knife with her at all times, which she will use when or if she feels like she's losing.” Eppes said, shedding more light on the all mysterious Bel or Cedar or whatever the hell her name is.
“I heard that she was strong, but I will soon teach her a lesson about using weapons. You know me and you know that I much prefer a good fight over using weapons, so if she tries to use a knife against me she will be so sorry that she ever tried.” I replied and Eppes started laughing and nodding, understanding exactly what I meant. We finished our food, cleaned up and then sat there talking and laughing for a bit.
“Leah caled me this morning, cheering me on and wishing me luck, but I really wish she was here. I think after this fight I’m going to grab Brandon and we are going to visit her. We miss her so much.” I said and Eppes nodded.
“I know you miss Leah, but it's for the best right now. We need to get rid of the threat when it gets here. So let's get rid of this danger and then she can come home, but you and Brandon have to remember that she has a mate now and she is a Luna to her own pack now. She will come home and get her things and then she will leave again.” Eppes replied and although I knew she was right, I didn’t want to admit it.
“I know and it's going to be the saddest day of my life, but I know that she is happy and I know that Kodi will take good care of her and love her. The main one I have to convince of all this and has to come to terms with all of it is Brandon, after all she is his little girl.” I said and we both started laughing at the thought of Brandon coming to terms with anything concerning his daughter.
“Hey, do you want to help me warm up some more?” I asked and Eppes quickly nodded.
“Sure, let's go now before your time runs out. You got your gear on under that huge shirt?” Eppes asked and I nodded.
“Yeah, just had to wear the shirt because of Brandon, you know how jealous he gets. Come on, let's go outside, I’ve had enough of the gym.” I replied, thinking back to the weird handprint. I don’t know why but it made me feel a little unsettled, even though I hadn’t told Brandon or anyone else about it.
“We have three hours until your fight, so let's train for an hour and then you can have two hours to relax and rest up.” Eppes said and I nodded as we went outside. I really wanted and needed to train today, especially with all the uncertainty over who I was facing, I wanted to be prepared for everything and anything. Eppes and I both got into our fighting stances, then began sparring. We started off throwing punches and kicks, then moved and did flips, elbows and headbutts. By the time we got done the hour was up and I was worn out.
“Go upstairs and take a long bath, relax your aching bones and muscles.” Eppes said, pushing me into the pack house and up the stairs to my room. I walked into the bathroom and filled the tub with hot water, then got in.
“You know, if it wasn’t for the fight that is happening in an hour, I would take you out of that tub and f**k you until you couldn’t walk the next day.” Brandon said, coming into the bathroom. I opened my eyes to see that he was now sitting beside the tub, smirking and wiggling his eyebrows at me.
“I’ll have to take a raincheck on that.” I said, laughing as he started to pout at me.
“Come on, I need to get out of here and start getting ready.” I said, pulling the plug in the tub and letting the water go down the drain. Brandon lifted me up out of the tub, wrapping a towel around me and making me giggle when he grabbed my ass and squeezed it. Brandon helped me dry off and then I went back into the bedroom, getting dressed in my fighting gear. I put on my tan shorts that I could easily move my legs in and then my sports bra, that way I wouldn’t be too hot. I turned around to do my hair and heard as Brandon growled, throwing a t-shirt at me,
“If I wear that I will be way too hot and then I will lose. The people here are going to be watching the fight, not my body.” I said and he just shook his head at me. I threw the t-shirt back at him and then carried on doing my hair, putting it up in a high ponytail. Brandon held his hand out to me and I took it, leaving the bedroom and going downstairs to wait for my challenger to arrive. I didn’t know much about her or how she knew how to fight, hell I barely knew if I had the right name, but I was going to make damn sure that I watched every move she made.
