Chapter 12

Carla’s P.O.V

  I watched helplessly as everyone heard my daughter's bones break and crack. She was doubled over in pain, clutching her stomach at first, but then her legs gave out from under her and she fell to the ground. Kodi was kneeling down beside her, while Brandon and I stood near her. None of us were going to leave her side, but we were scared to touch her in case we caused her more pain during her shift.

  “Leah, baby, take deep breaths, come on I know you can do this, honey.” Kodi whispered to her, calming her down. We all heard as more bones broke and cracked, but this time it was her arms that were shifting into their new places. She wasn’t screaming anymore as Kodi was helping her through this and it only served to prove that he truly was her mate.

  “Come on, honey, you can do this. You’re nearly there, just a few more minutes. You’re a strong woman, baby, you can do this.” Kodi said, trying to soothe her.

  “THAT’S EASY FOR YOU TO SAY!!!!” Leah screamed out and tried to laugh a little, but it turned into another blood curdling scream as her back bone broke and shifted into its new place. 

  Leah’s P.O.V

  I fell forward onto my stomach and all of my skin felt really itchy at first as fur started sprouting out all over my hands and arms, then the rest of my body. My skull cracked and my nose and mouth elongated into a snout. It was almost done, my shift was almost complete, but the pain was getting worse. I closed my eyes, taking deep breaths and felt as my body shifted into a different shape. My heartbeat increased, almost beating out of my chest, but then it suddenly slowed down as my first shift was almost complete. I opened my eyes and it was like everything was shiny and new to me, like I was seeing everything in a new light or for the first time. Kodi was kneeling down next to me, but as soon as my mom and dad came running over to me he moved away from me. My mom held her hand out, running her fingers through my fur and I looked at her as she bent down next to me.

  “Oh my beautiful daughter, you are a beautiful black wolf, you’re an Alpha wolf, baby girl.. Ashy you’re beautiful and it's nice to meet you. Sweetheart, do you remember how I told you to shift back, to remember your human form? Think of your human form and start to shift back, baby girl. You can do this.” My mom said and I closed my eyes. I thought about how I looked before I shifted and felt as my bones began to crack and shift into my human form. My legs broke and dislocated, turning back the right way and my arms did the same. It didn’t hurt anywhere near as much as what it did the first time and I was so grateful for that. I got back on my feet and looked around as my father, Kodi and Eppes stepped forward, shielding me. I wondered why they did that, but then my mom stepped forward with my sundress and it was then I realised I was still butt naked in front of everyone. My mom helped me into my sundress and then moved away as everyone began to cheer for me. Things were going to be different, a lot different now and I knew that. I smiled at Kodi and my father, but then I smelled this addicting scent of fresh cut grass and mint. I looked all around and then my eyes landed on Kodi and it was like something inside me just clicked into place. I smiled from ear to ear as I walked closer to him and he did the same, as if time had stopped for us. It was a sight to behold as we came face to face, but neither of us could take our eyes off the other.

  “So, there's going to be two Alpha’s in the Orange Moon pack, I like that.” Kodi said, making me smirk.

  “Oh yeah, there will be.” I replied and we both chuckled. The party went on and Kodi and I stuck to each other like glue, neither one of us wanting to leave the other alone for even a second as everyone was having a blast. The night went on and was coming to an end as everyone started to leave for their cabins and rooms. My mom and dad hugged us both, but then my dad gave me a pointed look and I knew exactly what it meant.

  “Listen, I would rather not mate with you in your parents house, so tomorrow I want to show you our home. Come one, let's get some sleep.” Kodi said, taking my hand and I quickly nodded. I couldn’t agree more with what he just said and it proved how much respect he had for my parents as well. We walked into the house hand in hand all the way up to my room and went inside, closing the door behind us. We weren’t going to mate tonight, but we could still lay next to each other and cuddle, which to me would be the perfect end to a perfect night.

  Amy’s P.O.V

  “So the bitches daughter is a black wolf and she’s going to her mates pack tomorrow to visit, but for how long? That’s it, that's when I will go in and out my plan into action, starting my revenge. It's going to be so much fun to do this.” I said, but Corl looked at me as if I had gone mad.

  “Amy, you need to be careful. It looks to me as if this family has a really strong bond, a bond you can’t break….” Corl said, but I held my hand up stopping him from speaking.

  “Corl, listen, I can do anything I want to do and no one is going to stop me. He will be eating out of the palm of my hand in no time at all, but until that b***h daughter leaves I will be watching.” I said, standing proud of what I was going to do and how I was going to bring them all down.
