Sora had a big day ahead of her and she was excited and nervous about it at the same time.
One of the best selling writers Edward Simone was going to be coming to her book cafe for a reading and signing. Sora was a big fan of his crime thriller writing, always good her hooked and when his agent had approached her asking her about how she would feel about a book signing from Edward Simone she basically squealed.
She had decided on wearing a cute red jumpsuit with white and yellow flowers on it, it did wonders for her collar bones and so did the hoop earrings.
She went downstairs after getting dressed and ready. Her grandmother was already up and making breakfast.
"Grandma good morning! I see you're making my favourite today" Sora was extra happy and chirpy and the vanilla cream pancakes were a cherry on top.
"Yes, big day for you honey, so I thought why not make my munchkin her favourite breakfast" her grandmother have her a kind smile with crinkles at the side of her eyes.
Sora hugged her grandmother from behind as she thought how lucky she was to have such a precious soul as her guardian after her parents death.
"You're the best" she said sitting down for breakfast.
Sora decided to call Aston as well to see if he was coming to the signing as well. The thought of him had her feeling a different type of giddy each time.
He picked up on the third ring.
"Hello" he answered civilly as he saw her on the caller ID or else it would have been 'what do you want?'
"Hey Ashton... umm I was wondering if you're coming to the book signing today?" She asked.
There was a long pause and he let out a sigh before answering.
"Sorry but I don't think I'll be able to make it, I've got somewhere to be" he replied.
He had been getting a lot of solo jobs lately.
Her mood dimmed a bit but she knew they had been hanging out a lot and he had stuff to do besides that, stuff she didn't really wanna think about.
"Oh that's okay I guess, I'll see you tomorrow?" She asked hopefully.
"Sure, I'll let you know" he replied back.
"Alright, bye"
"Bye"
And they both hung up.
Sora looked at the time and quickly got up not wanting to be late as she headed out of the house but not without saying good bye to her grandmother first.
Sora had arrived at her book cafe and did some last minute arrangements around the store, everything had to be flawless.
People had already started coming in and sitting down for the reading.
The writer was running a little late but his agent had informed Sora that they will be there shortly so she patiently waited, keeping a few refreshments around.
Not much long after, the bells at the entrance chimed gaining her attention and she was met with the sight of Edward Simone, New York Times best selling writer.
She could barely contain her excitement as she made her way towards him.
He was dressed in a full sleeves white tee and black Jeans with glasses sported at his nose, Sora had to admit he was quite handsome however, she was weirded out when her mind made the comparison of his Sandy hair with Ashton's dark shiny strands, his normal lean built with Ashton's tall muscular figure and his brown eyes with Ashton's stormy grey ones.
In all aspects she inclined more towards Ashton despite Nicholas being a handsome fellow.
Sora shook away her silly thoughts, she couldn't think of Ashton that way, they were only friends and she doubted he'd like her that way so there was no point in entertaining the one sided attraction.
"Hi, I am Sora Watanabe, the host and owner here" Sora introduced herself, extending her hand towards him.
"Well hey there, it's nice to meet you miss Watanabe, forgive me for my latency" he shook her hand with a charming smile, shamelessly roaming her eyes over her making her squirm a little.
"That's alright, it gave more time for people to arrive" she replied. She kept her calm even though the book nerd fan girl inside her was basically squealing with fervour.
"Yes, I see it's quite the turn out" he said looking around at the filled chairs.
"Well you're a great writer, I am a big fan myself" she admitted.
"I am glad you liked my book, I must say though, I did not expect a beauty like you to be the owner and the host here, you're quite the little enchantress miss Watanabe, I half expected some middle aged woman as the host" he admitted with a smirk making Sora blush and shuffle on her feet.
"Umm well... Reading is a passion of mine, you can call me Sora by the way" she said.
"Alright then beautiful Sora, would you lead me to where I will sit for the reading, we'll do the signing after" he picked up a copy of the book from the front shelf as she guided him to his seat right in the middle so that everyone could hear and address him.
After the reading was done and people were done asking the writer questions, Edward sat at a desk, signing copies of his books with people lined up in front of him.
Sora stood beside him, supervising the event and already excited to get her copy signed but that could wait till the end of the event.
She did notice how he flirted with the younger women but she didn't think too much of it, maybe that was his way of being nice to his fans as the girls got all blushy and giggly.
Once everyone had their copies signed and were gone Sora brought her in front of him.
"Will you sign mine as well please" she requested politely.
"Well of course darling, in fact I have been meaning to ask you, you free tonight for dinner?" He asked flashing her that charming smile.
Sora was a little surprised by him asking her out, he was one of her ideal writers and fans would kill to have a chance like this, she would be stupid and ungrateful to decline she thought.
"Sure, I can do dinner" she answered.
"Very well then, I'll pick you up at 8 tonight, give me your phone number and address" he said and Sora did exactly that.
"I am looking forward to seeing you tonight in a nice little dress showing off those exquisite curves of yours then darling" with that, he exited with a smirk on his face leaving her stunned.
