Chapter 10: In Which His Friends Are There

1101 Words
Ashton had a long gruesome day of cleaning up dead bodies. He was doing solo jobs and even though the pay was substantial, he was tired, smelled like industrial cleaners and would rather prefer having his partner Vincent with him but for some reason that wasn't permitted. He'd decided to call Sora just because he felt this strange need to hear her voice after a long day of washing blood away. She picked on the third ring. "Hi Ashton!" She sounded very enthusiastic, it was refreshing for him. "Hey, just wanted to know how your event went" he asked for the sake of conversation. "Oh it was great Ashton! The turn up was amazing and I am pretty sure my book cafe got a lot of positive publicity today and Edward Simone, the writer who came was pretty friendly too" she replied. "Is that so, I am glad it went well for you" he said. "Oh also, I have a date tonight, guess with whom?" She sounded excited, Ashton's jaw clenched at hearing that. "Who?" He asked, trying to reign in this sudden anger he felt. "Edward Simone, the New York Times best selling writer, oh I am so excited" she replied. He took a deep breath before answering. "Hope you have fun then, I have to go now" "Oh okay, It was nice talking to you and I'll definitely see you tomorrow right?" She asked, she missed his brooding presence today. "Yea" he replied before hanging up. He wanted to punch something. He knew she had all the right to date and he had no right to be angry at that considering she wasn't his girlfriend or anything like that but somehow the thought of her with another guy made him want to kill that person. He could do it, he is good at covering up tracks, the best actually, he wouldn't get caught. Ashton shook of his sinister thoughts. Sora was getting ready for her date. She couldn't decide on what to wear, she thought back to his words and he did say a dress so that's what she went with. A pastel pink short flow dress with bejewelled neckline that made her feel like royalty. She looked perfect, like an angel. She wore her pink and white ballerina flats with the dress to complete her look and grinned at herself in the mirror looking pleased by her work. "My my, you look like a princes munchkin" her grandmother said looking her over. "Thanks grandma" she smiled giddily. "What's the occasion honey?" She asked. "Oh grandma, you know the writer who came for a book signing today, he asked me out on a date and I said yes so he is gonna pick me up in a bit" she told her grandmother who smiled at her. "You're all grown up my little munchkin, I hope you find a man who deserves a precious soul like you and takes care of you like his most priced possession" "Oh grandma, thank you, you're the sweetest" Sora said giving her a hug. Just then a knock on the door sounded and she turned around. "That must be him grandma, I am gonna go now bye" "Take care honey" With that Sora went towards the door and opened it, sure enough there stood Edward with his play boy looks looking even more boyish with his leather jacket over white tee and hair tousled. "You look exquisite little flower, damn you're just like a little angel aren't you, all sweet and ripe for the taste" he said shamelessly checking her out, making her flush and fidget under his gaze. The women he usually went out with were sexy sharp women with never ending legs however, as he looked at her standing there in that pink dress and her delicate features, she was definitely a new treat and different from most. That excited him to no end. "Uhm... t..thank you, you look nice too" she replied shyly. "Let's go darling, we'll have a lot of fun" he said taking a hold of her dainty hand and leading her towards his Bentley. Sora was definitely in awe with the luxurious interior of the car. The car ride was spent in mostly in silence with songs playing in the background and his hand in her thigh which was suppose to feel comfortable but it mostly just made her fidgety. She tried asking him where they were going but he told her to sit tight, it was a surprise. Well, he can consider her surprised as he they came to a halt in front of the "WILD" night club. "We're going here?" She asked nervously eyeing the place with neon lights. "Yes babygirl" he replied with a smirk. "But I...I thought we would be going for dinner to a restaurant or something" she said, she wasn't really the type of person who would enjoy herself at a nightclub. She was more of a serene place type of girl, a place with a nice view, polite people and good deserts type of person and a night club with its rowdy crowd, loud music and bad food was the exact opposite of it. "Don't be buzz kill babygirl, we'll have fun" he said and got out of the car handing the keys to the valet before she could protest. She got out as well and he snaked an arm around her waist as they walked in. The people who were waiting in the line gave her dirty looks as the bouncer let them pass inside without any wait because of Edward. She was instantly uncomfortable by the disco lights and the loud music, not to mention how crowded it was and how strong the smell of liquor was. "Heyyyy Eddy! Finally!" A girl came out of nowhere and hugged Edward as they reached the bar. Sora was so confused. "Hey Trish" he greeted back and they pulled apart. "Hey man, thought you were gonna ditch us" the guy who pulled at rush to him said. "Yea, had to pick up my date, this is Sora by the way" Edward introduced the confused girl, pulling her in front of him. "Damn she hot" a new guy made an entrance with a glass of rum in his hand. Sora felt extremely uncomfortable. "Nice to see you too Jake" Edward said rolling his eyes at his friends. "I thought it just gonna be us" Sora said discreetly to Edward after greeting his friends as to not seem rude. "Relax babe, they're all cool" was his stupid reply. Sora wanted to go back home.
