Chapter 22: Back to Examate.

"So, Dream. Tell me more about your family."

Lily said. Even though they've been dating for a while now, They didn't really talk much about their family. So, It's natural that Lily want to know Dream family.

"Ah... Well, I have my Mom and Big Sister. My dad passed away when I was little. I don't really like talking about him that much because, it makes my eyes tearing up every time I talked about him."

Dream said. His eyes started to get a little bit watery. His memories with his dad isn't that much but, it's a great time when it lasted.

"Really? I'm sorry if I touch a sensitive part of your life."

Lily said awkwardly.

"No no. It's okay..."

Dream clean up his eyes. Elaine feel sympathy from Dream story.

"And for my Mom, She's a hard working woman. One of the reason I go to Artine and attend the academy there is to lessened the burden that my Mom and My sister have. I was planning to be an adventurer or a knight for my job. But fate has different plan. And now, I'm here! Being a student in Million Years Academy."

Dream said seriously.

"And then, Somehow I become one of the key to defeating the Chaos. Yup. Fate has it different for me."

Dream said jokingly. Elaine and Lily giggled at that.

"Yeah. Somehow we become the future of humanity. What has our life become."

The three of them enjoy the rest of the flight from Nova to Artine.

Then, They safely landed on Artine.

"Now then. Let's go meet Eleanor."

"Yes Miss!"

Dream was looking forward to meeting with Eleanor. After all, She's Dream former mentor. So, He was pretty excited to meet her after a long time.

As soon as they walked off the airport, Eleanor arrived with her car.

She leaves the car and greeted everyone.

"Hello!"

"Hello Principal. No, Miss!"

Dream greeted Eleanor. Eleanor look at Dream and say.

"You've gotten strong I hear. I'm proud of you Dream!"

"Thank you Miss!"

Eleanor pat Dream on his back. She's feeling really proud at Dream achievement. And she turned to Lily.

"Nice to meet you!"

Lily lowered her body to greet Eleanor.

"Nice to meet you! You're Lily Woodrow right?"

"Yes! It's an honor for the Witch of Purgatory to know me!"

Lily feel pleasantly surprised after Eleanor said she knew her.

'I forgot that Miss Eleanor has that nickname. No wonder Lily was excited to meet her'

Dream thought. His face was smiling looking at Lily getting flustered at Eleanor word.

"Well then. Eleanor, Please take us to Examate!"

"Yes Dear Sister!"

All of them get inside the car. Elaine and Eleanor in the front while Dream and Lily in the back. They immediately take off from the airport toward Examate.

"Have you been to Examate before Miss?"

"No. I haven't I don't know where it is."

Dream ask Elaine. She look like she genuinely don't know where Examate is. So, Dream ask Elanor about this.

"How about you Miss Eleanor?"

"I know the way. I don't really know what it look like but, I know where the road leading to Examate is."

"Ah! That's good. I'm afraid that no one knows where the Examate is. It would be annoying for me to tell you every single time where to turn on our way to Examate."

Dream chuckled. Eleanor said confidently.

"Don't worry Dream. I will take you there without question!"

The journey was peaceful at the beginning. Until suddenly, They hear a really big and mighty roar from the sky.

They immediately stop the car as they was feeling danger coming their way.

"What was that? That roar was so loud!"

Dream said. He look around the general area and see nothing. Then, Elaine point at something.

"Look! A Dragon!"

She pointed right on the sky. A giant Red Dragon was flying their way.

"Wait a second. Why is a freaking dragon here?! They shouldn't roam freely in here?! They have their own place to live!"

Dream was wondering what's the reason behind the appearance of the Dragon.

About Dragon, They have their own place way down south. They lived in an abandoned island with a giant volcano on it. No one have the courage to even get close to the island. Not only there's Dragon, The volcano is still active.

Rumor has it that, The reason why The Volcano hasn't erupted yet was because there's A dragon that has the ability to control everything in that Island. And that being was called 'The Dragon Sovereign'.

It has the ability to control the Area they lived in and the Species of the Dragon. But, Dragon Sovereign couldn't control the Sea Dragon. Because, Everything in the sea was being controlled by Leviathan or Dream.

"Everyone, Let's go take care of the Dragon. Before it can reach the City, we need to take it down and find anything that might be the clue of this Dragon appearance."

In an instant, Elaine gave everyone a command.

"Yes!"

They all moved out of the car. They equip their weapon and get into position.

"Lily, Your task is to Fly and get the attention of the Dragon."

Elaine said to Lily.

"Dream, When the Dragon was focusing on Lily, Use your Chains to Drag the Dragon down to the earth."

Elaine said to Dream.

"Eleanor and I will attack their wings and tail. That should be enough to make them unable to fly."

Dream and Lily change their weapon from Halberd and Katana into Chains and Wings.

Dream and Lily charges toward the Dragon.

Lily spread her wings. The wings flapped and Lily boosted toward the Dragon.

The Dragon took notice on her.

"Good good. Now, Come here Dragon!"

Lily take a page out of Dream book and let out a bloodlust. Since Dragon is a honorable species, They like to fight fair and square.

The Dragon immediately register Lily as a worthy opponent and not as food. The Dragon flap it mighty wings. Charging faster toward Lily.

"Dream!"

Lily scream at Dream.

"Got it!"

After hearing that, Dream launch his attack.

"Chains of Acedia Ultimate: World Judgements!"

Chains comes out from the ground. Reaching out to the Sky. The chains moved really fast toward the Dragon. Faster than The Dragon itself.

Suddenly, Before the Dragon realize, It already chained up by Dream chains.

"COME HERE!"

Dream swing his hand down. Indicating the chains to pull the Dragon down.

"Now!"

Dream screamed at Elaine and Eleanor.

Elaine jumped toward the right wing while Eleanor cast her spell at the left wing.

"Phantom Strike!"

"Flame of Purgatory!"

A bunch of invisible strike and a blue flame strike both wings. Then, Lily was falling from the sky.

She change her white wings into white katana.

"Lily Original: Full Moon s***h!"

Lily swing her katana down and spin around the Tail of the Dragon. Using the same momentum, She jumped out of the way.

The Dragon was pissed. The slit on it eyes become smaller. It open its mouth. Bunch of sharp teeth was revealed. Then, From the throat of the Dragon, Ember can be seen coming out.

"Fire Breath!"

Dream warned everyone. They quickly moved away from the Dragon. But, Dream stay where he was. The Dragon look at him and blast him with the fire Breath.

"DREAM!"

Everyone scream Dream name as they look at Dream engulfed by the Flame.

But, To their surprised, Dream was still okay.

"Bastard! That was hot!"

Mist can be seen around Dream. His Back glow red. Meaning that He use his Leviathan Mark to protect him from the Fire. But, It look like even The water was vaporized by the fire.

Dream was pissed at the Dragon. The plan was to make the Dragon unable to move but, It seems like that was thrown out of the window.

Even if they managed to restrained the Dragon, The Dragon can just Breathe Fire at them. Knowing how Dangerous that can be, Dream immediately act to kill the Dragon.

"Now you done it!"

Dream swing his arm back.

"Dream Style: Wave Attack!"

A strong wave of water appear on Dream hand. He swing his fist toward the Dragon. A big wave immediately attack the Dragon.

But, The Dragon managed to hold off against the Wave Attack.

It open its mouth once again. It try to breath fire toward Dream. But, The Dragon was soaked by Dream water.

"What's wrong? You can't attack me?!"

Dream act like he was mocking the Dragon.

"Lily! Do it!"

Realizing that Dream can't kill the Dragon, Lily immediately moved to kill the Dragon.

"Seven Virtues Series: Scythe of Patientia."

The Pure white Katana that Lily hold. Turned into a white particle. She grab the white particle and it formed a White Scythe.

"Scythe of Patientia Skill: Mercy!"

Lily swing her Scythe right at the Dragon neck.

It cut the neck beautifully without any problem.

The chains that tied the Dragon to the ground vanished. And then, The Scythe vanished as well.

"Huft... That was really intense fight."

Dream said. He fell to the ground.

"If I didn't protect myself with Leviathan Mark, I might get burned."

Elaine, Eleanor and Lily searched for any clues that can lead them to the reason why the Dragon appeared here.

But, Suddenly. They feel a more dangerous presence than the Dragon.

Floating from the above with his Dragon wings, Is a young man with pupil like a dragon and horns on his head.

"The Dragon Sovereign?!"

Dream said.

If it's a humanoid form of Dragon. That can only mean one thing. The Dragon Sovereign itself came. Because, Only the Sovereigns can take a human form.

"Don't be alarmed human. I'm here to take back one of my people but, It seems like it was too late."

The Dragon Sovereign said with calm voice.

"Let me set this Straight for you. He's the one who attacked us first."

"Yes. I'm very aware of that. That's why I come here. I'm here to apologize for my brethren. It seems like someone planted a magic in my brethren mind."

Everyone was surprised hearing that word coming from the Dragon Sovereign.

"If I'm not mistaken. Shouldn't Dragon have immunity at a mind control magic?"

"Yes. That's usually the case. But, This time it's different. Something managed to take control of my brethren. So, That's why. Please catch the culprit for us. The Dragon People."

Dream, Lily, Elaine and Eleanor look at each other. Confirming their answer.

"Listen here Dragon Sovereign. We will try to catch the culprit. As it is our job to keep the world to become a safe place for all race to live."

"Thank you. I, The Dragon Sovereign shouldn't forget this. Remember O Great Human being. My Dragon eyes telling me that the Culprit is the people that you have been chasing for a long time."

The Dragon Sovereign pupil become smaller. It looks like he was observing something out of this world with his eyes.

"Don't tell me! The Cult. She who held the alias 'Manipulator' Anne!"

Dream said.

"I knew you were thinking the same thing Dream."

Elaine said. It look like Dream guess was correct as the Dragon Sovereign was nodding.

"My name is Albert Draco. May we meet again in the future. O Great Human being!"

Albert flap his mighty Dragon wings. He immediately vanished.

"Anne... She's becoming more terrifying as time passed."

After she managed to control Ant, It seems like she now managed to control Dragon. If she keep this up, There will be Dragon attack all over the world.

"Tch... That Woman. I swear I will kill her with these hand..."

Dream was pissed at Anne. She always come at the worst possible time.

Clap.

Elaine smack her hands together.

"Now! Eleanor. Put the Dragon to the Storage!"

"Yes Sis!"

Dream and Lily was confused by the siblings.

Eleanor use her spell and immediately, The huge dragon vanished from the ground.

"What?"

Dream and Lily was dumbfounded by that Magic.

"Listen you two. Dragon meat is a delicacy. It's a waste if we let it rot here!"

"Yeah. I knew that. But, where the Dragon though?!"

"It's with Eleanor. She store it in her magic."

Dream and Lily. From the observation for those who can't use magic. They didn't understand what just happened. But, They didn't pay any more attention to that.

"Let's go back to the road!"

"OOOU!"

Everyone get back in the car the exact same way.

'But still. How can a human being control a dragon freely? Anne. She's too dangerous to be left alive.'

'No. Let's forget about that now. I'm about to meet my family. I need to throw away unnecessary thought.'

Despite thinking that, Dream face look worried. Lily hold his hand. Her face was saying 'Don't worry. We will get pass through this.' Dream can't help but smiled at that.

Elaine and Eleanor who saw that from the mirror, can't help but giggle at the wholesome scene.

They resume the journey toward Examate.

1 Hour passed and they arrived at the Gate to Examate.

"Well then Dream, Lily. Take your time here!"

Elaine said.

"Yes! Thank you!"

Dream and Lily went out the car. Elaine and Eleanor turned the car and drove away.

"Ah... Finally I'm back here after 4 Years..."

Dream remember the familiar air.

Dream and Lily passed the gate.

"Woaah... This village feels cozy..."

Lily said.

She looked around the village and see kids playing with each other.

"Well, This is a small village so, Everyone knew everyone. I forgot most of the people here and they most likely forget me too."

"Eh? Why though?"

"It's been 4 years since I last been here. There's no way people still remember a young boy that left the village for 4 years."

Dream explain the situation to Lily. Lily still doesn't understand why that can happen.

"I mean, That's a weird reason for people to forget about you."

"Well, Doesn't matter though. Let's just head straight to my home."

"Let's go!"

Lily immediately get fired up. They walked a certain road and finally arrived at a small house made out of wood.

'How can I let my Family live in a place like this... I'm successful enough that I can afford a better living for them. I failed already to be a great son...'

Dream thought after seeing the old house.

Dream take a step into the door. He knocked at the door.

"Is Anyone home?"

Dream said.

"Yes!"

An unfamiliar young girl voice can be heard from the inside.

'Did they move out from this house?'

Dream wondered.

Finally, The Young girl appear.

"What can I help for you?"

"Um... Is this the house of Luna Enpierce?"

Dream say his Mother name.

"Yes! And Who might you be?"

Dream was shocked after hearing that this is still his old house.

"Can you call her for me?"

"Hm? Okay..."

The Young girl ran with small steps toward the inside of the house.

"Mom! There's someone searching for you!"

The Young girl voice can be heard.

'Mom?!'

"Hey Dream. Is she your little sister?"

Lily asked that.

"I'm not sure though..."

Even Dream doesn't know the answer.

'It was possible that Mom get remarried when I'm not here but, It's too cruel that she didn't invite me to come to her wedding...'

Dream was sad when wondering about that.

"Who might you b-!"

Before the woman can finished her word, She immediately stop midway after seeing Dream.

"D-Dream?!"

Luna said with teary eyes. Dream smiled and said.

"Mom. I'm home."

Luna ran straight at Dream and hug him. Dream hug her back.

"Mom. This is Lily. My girlfriend."

Dream introduced Lily to his mom.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Lily Woodrow."

"Oh my! You found yourself a girl! Come in!"

The young girl has no clue about what happened. Because she has no memories of Dream.

They sat down at the Living room. Luna went somewhere to call Dream sister and her new husband.

A young woman with Dark hair enter the room. Along with a Man with brown hair.

"Sis! Long time no see!"

"Dream!"

She immediately charged at Dream.

"Ah, Beside you is Lily isn't it?! I'm Miles Enpierce. Dream older Sister!"

"Yes! Nice to meet you!"

Lily and Miles shake their hand.

"This little one is your new little sister Dream. She's Shia Enpierce. Shia, Say hello to your big brother!"

Miles quickly introduce Shia at Dream.

"Nice to meet you big brother!"

"Nice to meet you too Shia..."

Dream pat Shia on the head. And finally, His new Father introduce himself.

"Hello Dream. I'm Harry. I'm your new father. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too sir."

Dream shook hand with Harry.

Luna comes in with Curry and Tea.

"Oh! Mom Curry! I miss eating these!"

Lily observe Dream expression. She Notices that Dream look really happy than usual. It makes her happy as well knowing that.

They all ate the curry as lunch. After Lunch, They asked Dream and Lily their experience in Artine and Nova.

"So Dream. How is life in your current place?"

Luna ask Dream

"Well, I'm pretty Lucky that my Ability was noticed by Miss Elaine. Because of that, I can meet a lot of new friends. So, I'm pretty happy with my current place."

"Really? That's a great news to hear! How about you Lily?"

"Same for me! Dream and I was invited by Miss Elaine at the same time."

After Lily say that, Luna asked more question regarding their relationship.

"So, How did you guys met in the first place?"

"We met at Artine. There's a tournament that was held Once a Year. I decided to join there to gain some recognition. In the end, Lily and I both win the Tournament together."

Dream explain.

"So, Who confesses to who first?"

Dream and Lily simultaneously at each other.

"Him!"

"Her!"

"No it's totally you Lily."

"No... It's you!"

Dream and Lily debate on who confessed first. But, Luna immediately knew the answer.

"It's alright. You guys confessed to each other at the same time. Problem solved!"

Luna let out a victory pose. Dream and Lily was confused. 'How does she know?' Can be seen in their face.

"It's nice seeing my Son finally grew up to be a fine man. Lily. Please take care of him. Just scold him if he does something stupid. Okay?"

Luna said.

"Yes Mom!"

Dream was shocked at that.

"Dream... You've grown up so much. I'm proud of you!"

Miles wiped away her tear with a handkerchief.

"Not you too sis!"

Dream was sick of getting teased already.

"Also mom. Why didn't you invite me to your wedding?"

"Well, Because you're too far away from Examate! Miles has planned to bring you back from Artine but, You ain't there anymore!"

Dream realized that he's the one in the wrong.

"Ah. Sorry about that. This is a Gift from me. Please accept it."

Dream let out a big bag of Gold Coins.

"And this is from me!"

Lily also let out a big bag of Money.

"Eh? Is it alright for us to take it?"

Harry said.

"Of course. You're all my family. I can't afford seeing my family lived their life like this while I live really good."

"Haha... You guys really great person. Thank you. We will accept it."

Harry pick up the bag of money and put it in the corner of the room.

"So, Dream, Lily. When will you guys go back to Nova?"

"We're planning to stay here for 1 week. So, We're going to stay here for a long time."

"Really? That's great then. I'm worried that you guys might just stay here for a couple of hours."

Luna state her worried. Dream and Lily smiled at her and said.

"Don't worry Mom. There's no way that I end our reunion that fast. We were given a free time for one week so, We will use that one week to its fullest."

"Is all your friend free too?"

"No... They're still in Nova. We're given a special treatment right now."

"Is that so..."

Luna smiled at them. They enjoyed their time together as a family in there.

Dream take Lily around the village. Telling her the stories that happen in each place.

Eventually, Night comes. Dream and Lily sat down in their temporary room. The Living room.

Luna have laid 2 futon right next to each other for them to stay there. She was probably hoping that Dream and Lily will have some sort of awkward Reaction.

But, Dream and Lily has sleep next to each other when they were sleeping in their camp. So, Her plan was failed immediately.

Miles comes in and tell Lily about Dream embarrassing stories. Dream try to stop Miles but, Lily intercept the intercept.

Miles was enjoying her time speaking with Lily so, She quickly accept her as her new little sister.

Then, It was time to sleep. Dream and Lily was supposed to sleeping in different futon but, Somehow, Lily managed to get in the same futon as Dream.

At first, Both of them was flustered at how close they were sleeping. But, That feeling was quickly flushed away when they eventually sleep.

It's a romantic night for Dream and Lily. It's a good night rest without any trouble.

That's how their first night end in Examate.
