Chapter 23: Sacrifice.

It's morning now. Dream wake up and saw Lily was staring at him sleeping.

As Dream was opening his eyes, Lily smiled at him. Dream stared at Lily for a couple seconds. Then, Reality setting in.

Dream immediately look away from Lily eyes because he was embarrassed by it.

"Good morning Dream."

Lily say softly in his ear. Dream face went red.

"G-Good morning..."

Dream said awkwardly. Lily decided to hug Dream. Making it more embarrassing for him.

After a couple of minutes. They finally done. They stand up and clean the room. Luna come in with breakfast.

"Here's breakfast you two~"

Luna said with happy voice.

Dream and Lily sat down near the table. Luna put down the plate. The food that was brought to them was omelet.

"Thank you mom."

"Thank you mom~"

Dream and Lily immediately eat the omelet. They drank their Tea and then go outside.

"Should we go train somewhere?"

"Let's go. Do you know a place?"

"Well, We could go near the waterfall and use the space there for our training."

"Alright then."

Dream plan in the morning is to train with Lily. Even though they're free, They still use their time to train.

"Mom! We're going now!"

"Yes!"

After telling Luna that, They immediately prepare themselves.

They walk outside the village. Then, They vanished. Not too long after that, They arrived at the waterfall.

"Well then. Only martial arts. No using Gava or Yoga. Okay?"

Dream stated the rule of the training. It would be devastating for the environment if they use Yoga and Gava.

"Okay!"

Dream and Lily distance themselves and take their stance.

Dream take a deep breath. Then, He jumped toward Lily while swinging his right hand toward her.

Lily jumped back. Dream aggressively swing his right hand toward her again.

Lily moved forward slightly. She caught Dream arm between her left armpit.

"Lily Original: Energy Blast."

Lily use her Energy Blast right at Dream chest.

"GAH!"

Dream was blown away from that attack. He was out of breath because all the wind inside his lungs was blown away from that blast.

"As Expected... I can't win easily against her..."

For Dream, Lily was a tough opponent to beat in a real fight. Due to her vision is really sharp. Even sharper than Ray. So, She can easily pinpoint Dream location. And not only that, She made subtle movement that catch the opponent attention.

So, It's easier for her to throw the balance of her opponent. And Dream was caught off by that move.

Lily doesn't need to jumped back to evade Dream attack just now. She can just move in and attack immediately. But, Dream definitely has a way to counter that.

That's why she jumped back slightly to bait Dream to swing his arm forward so that she can move forward and catch it then.

"That's why it's hard for me to read her..."

Dream was staring hard at her. Lily immediately jumped forward toward Dream. Dream jumped at her too.

Dream swing his right leg toward Lily. Lily block it with her left hand and then she spin around. She hit Dream right on the face with her right hand

Dream immediately give her a counter. He thrust his hand toward Lily.

 "Guh..."

Lily panicked and she jumped away from Dream.

"Boo!"

Dream instantly appear right behind Lily. He whispered that word and scared Lily.

"What the?!"

Lily panicked and she swing her left hand toward Dream neck.

Dream immediately crouch to evade the attack. He slide his foot toward Lily feet. It throw her off balance. She immediately fall backward.

Dream catch her. He smiled at her and then throw her high in the air.

"Dream Style: Cloud Nine."

"WAAAA!"

Dream immediately jumped up toward Lily after hearing her scream.

"What's wrong Lily? Isn't it nice up here?"

Dream said. Even though Lily can Fly with her wings, She can't really control her balance in the air. So she panicked when Dream throw her up in the air.

"DREAM!!! CATCH ME!!"

Lily screamed. Her eyes started to get teary.

"Here! Take my hand!"

Lily immediately take Dream hand. And then, She hug him really hard that he feels he was getting crushed.

They landed on the ground no problem.

For Dream and Lily, Falling from that height should be normal for them. But, For Lily, It's still scary for her because she can't see the ground when she's falling.

"Sorry Lily..."

Dream said. Lily get off from Dream. Her body immediately glow orange.

She uses 2 Chaos Essence and swing her right fist toward Dream stomach.

"AGH!"

Dream was blown away to the ground.

He passed out after getting hit with that.

"Ah!"

Lily realized her mistakes and immediately ran toward Dream.

"Uwah... I overdid things..."

She said. She waited until Dream wakes up.

"HAAAH!"

Dream wake up and took a really deep and loud breath

"Oh my god! I think I saw my dad for a split second..."

Dream joke around after he felt that.

"Dream! You jerk!"

"Sorry Sorry!"

Dream laugh at Lily. They stand up and went back to the house after that.

On their way back, They hear a Dragon roar from Examate.

Dream and Lily immediately went full speed toward Examate.

As soon as they arrived, They saw Every single person there lining up. And young women was standing in the front.

Dream and Lily sneak out right behind everyone and talk to Luna.

"Mom. What happened?"

"Dragon... Want a sacrifice..."

Dream and Lily was shocked after hearing that.

"Where's Sister?!"

"She was... In front..."

"What the?!"

Dream and Lily immediately charged forward.

The Dragon speaks toward the Villager.

"O Human. Who do you want to sacrifice?"

The mighty voice can be heard from the Dragon. It's a high ranked dragon because it can speak to human.

"YOU AIN'T GETTING ANYONE!"

Dream jumped toward the Dragon and swing his Halberd of Ira with every single of his power.

The Dragon was blown away from the impact of the Halberd.

"Sis! Are you okay?!"

Dream asked. Fear can be seen from everyone.

"What are you doing, HUMAN!"

"YOU BASTARD! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

Dream screamed at the Dragon. He let out the most intense bloodlust that he ever let out.

Everyone who stand behind him can feel some pressure from him.

"I'm a messenger from the great Dragon Sovereign! He want me to bring him some young woman!"

"Don't lie you bastard. Dragon Sovereign would never do that. You probably want young woman to eat right? Tell me the truth!"

Dream Halberd was covered with black mist. Lily moved beside Dream and her Katana was covered with White light.

They were pissed at the Dragon after seeing Dream family was offered as a Sacrifice.

"That's right. There's no Way Albert would do something like that."

"What?! You know the Dragon Sovereign?"

"Correct. We know him. And we know that he isn't that kind of Dragon. I can call him here if I want to. So, Tell me the truth!"

Dream threatened the Dragon.

"... You know too much human. I won't let you inform the Dragon Sovereign!"

The Dragon opened up it mouth. Flame was coming out from it's mouth.

"DROP DEAD!"

Dream back glow red. A water wall was formed to protect them from the Fire breath.

Dream and Lily jumped out from the Water wall to attack the Dragon.

"Halberd of Ira Skill: Black Crush!"

"Katana of Temperantia Skill: Infinity Light!"

Dream and Lily attack the Dragon wings. Crushing and Chopping the Wings to pieces.

Dream and Lily weapons vanished.

Lily jumped back into the Water wall.

"That Water! That Mark! Don't Tell me! You kill Lord Leviathan?!"

"Right. I kill it. You're nothing compared to it."

The Dragon realized it mistakes.

"Please... Spare me.."

"You're the same as human. When they're about to die, They say that word."

Dream activate both his Chaos Essence.

"Die you plebian!"

"Dream Style: Wave Attack!"

A giant wave comes out from Dream fist. He swing his fist toward the Dragon. The wave become faster and stronger. And Chaos Essence enhance the attack power even further. The tip of the wave become like a spear.

The Dragon was pierced by that Wave Attack.

The light in the Dragon eyes vanished.

"Huft. Although he's a high ranked Dragon. He's easier to kill than yesterday Dragon. I wonder if it's because the Dragon was controlled to ignore everything..."

Dream deactivate his Chaos Essence and Leviathan Mark.

The parents who the children was chosen to be sacrifice, immediately ran toward their daughter and hug them.

Lily and I immediately moved toward Miles to calm her down. Luna, Harry and Shia was there too.

"Sis! Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah... I'm okay..."

Dream immediately hug Miles in order to calm her down.

"It's alright now sis. I'm here protecting you..."

"Yeah... Thank you..."

Miles wiped down her tear. Dream step to the front and speak to the whole village.

"Alright all of you. Today is really unfortunate day. But, Don't worry now. The Threat is already down. You don't need to worry about it anymore."

Dream said with voice full of confidence.

"But, Wouldn't they came again?"

One of the elder ask.

"Don't worry. They wouldn't I promise. This dragon shouldn't be here but, It looks like they rebel against their own Sovereign. So, The rebels probably dead by now."

All of the Rebel Dragons should be hunted down by its very own sovereign. By Albert.

"Really? We don't need to worry anymore?"

"Yes! They wouldn't come here anymore."

People immediately look relieved after hearing that. They easily trust Dream because of his ability to kill Dragon swiftly.

"Now. Let's raise our spirits by eating this Dragon. Everyone cool with that right?"

"Yes!"

Everyone mood brightened up. Even the young woman who look really scared is relieved. Miles look at Dream and immediately smiled.

"My Little Brother. Has become such a remarkable man."

She muttered those word.

Lily smiled after hearing that. She moved next to the Dragon and immediately, Katana of Temperantia appear on her hand.

"Lily Original: Flash!"

In an instant. The Dragon corpse was sliced into chunks. The bone and the Guts was removed. Every part of the Dragon was quickly disassembled by Lily technique.

Everyone was impressed by that. The whole crowd was saying 'Woah!'

Everyone immediately go back to their house. They all bring out their biggest pans that they could possibly find.

They all bring their own ingredients. Dream and Lily pass everyone the same amount of Dragon Meat. And because the Dragon corpse is so big, The meat that they get is enough to give everyone a large portion of Dragon meat.

They all had a large party afterward.

Dream take a bite of the Grilled Dragon meat.

'Ughh! The Meat is so soft! The Meat is Sweet, The flavor from the Sauce compliments the Dragon Meat even further!'

Dream was drowned in the Dragon Meat thought.

Everyone eat the Dragon meat with Delight on their face.

Because it's still in the middle of the Day. Dream decided to walked around the Village with Lily. Yesterday, They were just barging in without greeting anyone. So, Today. Dream at least want to greet his old teacher and some of his old friends as well.

"There's an old dojo right below the mountain. Let's go there. You want to meet my old mentor and friends right?"

"Yes!"

Dream took the Excited Lily out on a walk toward the mountain. Because the Dojo is very far from the Village, The people there didn't know the situation in the village they are living in.

They walked through a really thin Dirt path into the forest. The atmosphere was really calming. The sound of the wind can be heard. The shadow cover them from the sun. They slowly walked toward their Destination.

They finally arrived at an old Dojo. The building itself look really worn out.

Dream and Lily saw people was cleaning up the Dojo. And an Old man was standing. Looking over everyone cleaning.

"Long time no see. Everyone."

Dream walked in and greeted everyone. Everyone was surprised at the sudden appearance of Dream. The old man immediately stare at Dream.

"Are you... Dream?"

"Yes Master. It's me."

Dream said while smiling. Dream and Lily moved toward the Master.

"Ah. You've become so strong. Your aura is different from what they usually are."

"Thank you Master. It's the result of my training."

"Hahaha. And this young lady is?"

The Master ask Lily.

"My name is Lily Woodrow. I'm Dream girlfriend."

Lily Declare. The Master look shocked after hearing that.

"Hohoho! Even this Young Lady have a different aura. Dream. You found yourself a great Lady."

"Thank you master!"

Dream lowered his head toward his master.

"Everyone. Stop whatever your doing. Let's celebrate Dream comeback!"

"Ou!"

The Students said loudly.

They sat down in the dojo. They talked about everything Dream went through. And when they heard that the Village is under attack, They can be seen worried. But, They all calm down after Dream said he defeated the Dragon.

The reunion was a short one but definitely memorable.

Dream and Lily say goodbye to the people in the Dojo and Walk back toward the Village.

"Dream. What does your master teach to you?"

"My master teach me about spiritual stuff. He teach me how to control my own energy. That's what he teach to us. But, I stopped learning halfway through and decided to go to Artine. That's why sometimes I can't control my emotion."

Lily now understand how Dream can be calm in a dangerous situation. And how Dream always let out such intense bloodlust.

"Well, He seems like a great master."

"Yup! I like his teaching."

Dream and Lily peacefully walked back toward the Village.

They went back to the house and lay down in the Living room.

"Haah! It's a nice day."

Lily said. Dream nodded after hearing that.

They both get sleepy and ended up sleeping on the floor.

But, Eventually. All good things had to come to an end. 7 Days wasn't enough time for Dream and Lily to enjoy the life in Examate.

Without them realizing. It's been one week since they arrived. Which mean, Elaine and Eleanor is on their way to Examate.

"Mom. It's been a nice one week. I hope we can meet again in the future."

Dream said.

"Yes. It's been a fun week. Take care on your way."

"Yes Mom!"

After saying goodbye to the Family. They walk back toward the Gate. The Car isn't there yet so, Dream and Lily decided to walk toward Artine. Hoping that they will meet Elaine and Eleanor on the way.

Not too long after that, They finally meet Elaine and Eleanor.

"Hop in!"

Elaine said. Dream and Lily immediately go in the car.

"So, How is it? Living in Examate?"

Elaine asked. Dream answer with a happy tone.

"It's nice! We enjoyed living there even though it's only one week."

"So Miss. What happened in the Academy during this one week we're gone?"

Lily ask. She want to know how's everyone doing.

"Well, As usual. Now that both of you're gone. Ray and Eis climbed to the top as the strongest students in the Academy. But of course, It's a temporary title."

Elaine explain. Dream chuckled knowing Ray once again was on the top.

"Well, It seems like I will have new challenger when We're back."

"Yup. Ray trained real hard for the past week. So, You better be careful Dream. Or else, He take that title for real."

Elaine said toward Dream seriously. Dream smiled really big imagining the fight between Ray and himself. He was getting really excited.

"I'm excited seeing my friends development."

Million Years Academy, Nova.

Ray was fighting his Vice President. Anta.

"Come on Anta! Is this your all?"

Anta was breathing heavily while attacking toward Ray. Ray block every single attack no problem with his Green and Blue longsword.

Anta was thrown off by that defense power. He jumped back to gain some distance and to catch a breather.

"Well, I guess that's your limit then."

Ray Green and Blue sword vanished. He swing his hand toward Anta. Anta jumped back slightly. But, He wasn't anticipated Ray to swing a Red sword at him.

Anta block Ray Sword by putting his own sword and holding it with all his might.

"ORA!"

Ray swing the sword with all his power. Throwing Anta out of the Arena.

"Well then. Who wants it now?"

A lot of people raised their hand. A lot of people was excited to Fight Ray. Because, Ray is the person who can damaged Dream to a certain extent. So, They want to fight Ray in order to gain his secret to his power.

"Alright then! Come here!"

A lot of people walk toward the Arena.

Ray use his Green and Blue sword again. The students equipped their weapon and charged at Ray.

"HA!"

Ray charged toward the Students. He swing his Swords around aggressively. Then, He jumped and change sword. He use the Red sword and swing it down hard. Crushing the Ground.

Then, He change the sword to the Green sword. Ray charged at the students and s***h with quick movement. Then, He is in the middle of the crowd. He change the sword again into Blue sword.

He quickly spin around and s***h everyone one.

"You guys need more work if you want to at least scratch Dream."

Ray was done with his training. He walked down from the Arena. Eis greeted him.

"Ray! Good work!"

Eis said with smile on her face. She hands Ray towel for him to use.

"Thank you Eis."

Ray took the Towel and immediately wipe all the sweats on his face.

"Hey Ray. What happened? You've become so much different from the first day we met."

Eis said. Ray look at her awkwardly and said.

"Is that so? I didn't realize..."

"Yeah. If you ask it to Dream, I'm sure he will think the same too. Usually, You're more cold toward people. Is it because of Dream?"

Eis said. Ray realized what she was talking about and finally opened up.

"I mean. Dream is one thing. I'm really happy that I could meet you guys. Usually, My teammates look at me with such fear in their eyes so, It's harder for me to interact with them. And because of Dream. I can feel something I haven't been able to feel."

Ray said. Eis want to say something but, Ray wasn't done yet.

"I'm really grateful toward Dream. Because of him, I get closer to my football team. I also get to know you Eis. I get to know everyone here. So, I will try my best to at least become someone who doesn't bring shame toward Dream name. That's the least I can do to him."

Eis smiled. She closed her eyes and look down.

"Yup. We're all feel the same. Let's do our best to not disappoint Dream!"

Eis said with excitement.

"Yeah. Let's do our best."

Ray said. They both walked out the Gym and go to the Cafeteria.

Dream sneezed in the car.

"Hm? I wonder if someone talked about me."

Dream mumbled. That mumble was heard by everyone.

"I mean, You're famous so, People always talking about you."

Elaine said while chuckling.

"True. I guess I just sneezed with no reason."

Dream ignored what happened before and resume their conversation.

"So, What do you think of that Dream?"

Elaine ask about their last conversation before Dream was talking about nonsense.

"I like the plan miss! I'm definitely looking forward for that!"

Dream said.

"Yup! I also like the sound of that."

Lily continued.

"Alright then. Let's talk about this more later when we have all of the Student Council."

"Okay!"

Their road trip ended peacefully. They arrived at Artine no problem.
