Chapter Three

1337 Words
Abel and Kaine had been out at a bar with Roxie and Ronda when they had first scented it. They knew this sickeningly sweet scent was not coming from the girls. Abel could smell it on Kaine, and Kaine could smell it on Abel. It was their mate, it had to be. Abel took his beanie off his head and sniffed it. His eyes suddenly growing wide. Our mate is Addie! Abel exclaimed through their mind link. Talon has already confirmed it! Addison is our mate! Kaine said excitedly. That’s not actually good news. You heard what she said. She doesn’t seem like she’d even want to be our mate! Do you think she’ll reject us? Kaine asked logically. Addie? Maybe not both, but you know the rules. All for one or none for all. She definitely won’t accept either of us if we’re still dating Roxie and Ronda! Agreed! Kaine shut down the mind link and frowned towards the two girls in front of him. “I’m afraid that Abel and I must end things with you two. We have discovered who our mate is, and would like the chance to pursue a fated bond over a normal relationship. “What?! Who is she? I’ll take care of it right now!” Ronda said with a growl as she moved to stand up. Her eyes had already darkened with her rage. “You will do no such thing! Do I need to remind you who the f**k we are, and what your place is in this pack?” Abel said with an even deeper growl. “It doesn’t matter to us how many times we took you to bed. Or what kind of relationship you think we have. Kaine and I have a special bond, we have been waiting for our mate for a long time. Lay a hand on her, and you will no longer have hands!” Abel practically screamed at her. In the end, the pair decided on taking their dates home one last time and going home. They were hoping that Addison would still be awake and want to talk to them at least. As Kaine and Abel walked through the front door of the pack house, their suspicions had been confirmed. The sweet scent that had captured their attention. She smelled like a mixture of vanilla and honeysuckle. It was so light and sweet, but it was enough to completely overwhelm their senses. Abel growled to himself as he stalked up the stairs behind his elder brother. They didn’t knock on her door, they simply opened it. A sleepy Addison had already climbed in bed and was curled up facing away from them. Abel couldn’t stand it. He needed an answer now. He quickly walked across the room and nudged her. Addison woke and found herself overwhelmed with the scent of her two mates. They were staring at her with a hungry look in their eyes. It was hard for her to believe. Alari was right. She was raised up along side them, they were like her brothers, but they had been chosen as her fated mates. “Are you going to reject me?” Addison suddenly heard herself ask as she sat up in bed. She had heard that the rejection was incredibly painful, in some cases a wolf could die from it. It was terrifying. “No! Of course not! Unless…” Kaine said softly, his eyes narrowing as he spoke. “We have an agreement. Either both of us is accepted, or we would prefer to be rejected all together. I can’t be happy with a mate if my brother is miserable or in pain.” Abel said, he was usually more child like and relaxed, compared to his brother. However, now he was acting the part of a responsible brother. It was such a sweet sentiment. “I couldn’t accept it if Abel was rejected either. For us is both or none. Addie? This is as much your decision as ours. Do you want to reject us and go back to just friends?” Kaine asked. Alari was already howling in her head and pacing angrily. Don’t you dare reject those lovely boys and their very wonderful wolves! If you do I won’t forgive you! Alari warned inside her head. “You’ve been waiting for a long time for your mate. I can’t possibly do that to you. It wouldn’t just be unfair, it would be cruel. I don’t know if I’m ready for any of this. I just got my wolf and we’ve known each other our entire lives, so it’s awkward for me to see you that way. But…” Addison said as she tried to find the words. “But what?” The twins asked in unison. Addison couldn’t help but stare at them. It was like it was the first time she was seeing them. The sandy brown hair, the green eyes. The slight stubble on their faces from forgetting to shave. The chiseled jawlines, broad shoulders and the very defined muscular body structure that they shared. They were almost identical in every way, but she had always been able to tell them apart. They each had a different personality and a different scent. One had a harder look in his eyes, while the other was more playful. Abel and Kaine were very unique and independently their own person. She couldn’t do it to them, she couldn’t reject them. Her heart was beating rapidly in her chest as she tried not to let their scent overwhelm her completely. She didn’t want to do something she would later regret and she felt it was way too soon to be mated. “I can’t reject you. I care about you too much to do that, but I’m very concerned. I want you to be happy but there is only one of me and I am limited on how much I can do….” Addison was actively fidgeting. “Addie! It’s us! Don’t forget that we’ve been friends forever. There’s nothing more important to us than you. We will progress our relationship at your pace. When you’re ready.” “Um… You two have had many girlfriends and I’ve never…” Addison started softly. “Sweet Goddess, our Addie is a virgin!” The twins exclaimed in unison. Abel was the first to reach his hand out to grasp hers. The contact sent waves of electricity down his spine. It made him begin to harden as his wolf was pushing to the surface. Kaine was feeling the same effect. Talon and Onyx both wanted to claim their mate. This was going to be difficult, the twins rationalized. “We won’t do anything you don’t want. We promise. But, just for tonight? Can we kiss you?” The request sent shivers down her spine as her cheeks reddened. She had blushed and looked away. “I guess that will be okay.” Addison said softly. Kaine, as the eldest was first. He took Abel’s spot on the side of the bed and cupped her face with his hand. He leaned in, and brushed his lips against hers softly. Addison couldn’t help it, she melted into him. The kiss deepened and Kaine used his tongue to part her lips and began tasting her mouth. She let out a soft sigh. Her body heat began to rise as she began to feel heat between her legs. “My turn.” Abel said as Kaine pulled back. Abel was more aggressive in his approach. He cupped both sides of her face and claimed her lips for himself. He nipped her bottom lip before using his tongue and diving in. She was so sweet, and his wolf was over the moon. Abel could feel himself hardening and knew he’d have to pull back before he lost control. “Wow.” Addison said breathlessly. She was beginning to fear that she would not be able to keep up with these two wolves.
