“From now onwards, Miss Celest Baker is the new owner of this club. She is a madame here," he said, and every eye turned to her. Celest was embarrassed when they started staring at her in an unusual way. She was wearing the waitress uniform of the club. Chen folded his hands and watched his friend go crazy. For a while, he almost forgot about the will, and his ulterior motive turned out to be giving her a gift that she could not refuse. But seeing Celeste's expression, she was irritated as hell. Her fist clenched around the counter, her nostrils flared up.
Archie was smirking while standing on the stage, confirming that he had won. He stared at Celeste's face and gave her a devilish smile.
"What is that? Is he insane? You refused a gift worth millions, and now he is giving you an entire club worth billions." Shasha's jaw dropped. She could not believe someone could get this crazy. The people in the crowd slowly started gossiping about Celeste.
"How could she be the owner of the club? She must have f****d with Archie." One of the customers stared at Celeste and said it loudly enough for her to hear it easily. Celeste's brows raised, and her eyes turned sharper.
"Yeah, but I don't believe just f*****g up could make her get the entire club. She must be his w***e. That's the cost of him f*****g her every night as his personal slut." Another girl joined the gossip and said. Their words were enough to make her heart wrench. Celeste clenched her fist and went on stage. Her face was extremely angry.
"This man needs to stop. I am not one of his girlfriends," she said, clenching her fist.
She walked to the stage with heavy steps while holding the papers in her hand. She grabbed the mic from Archie's hand, and his face turned serious. The smile from his lips disappeared within a second.
"Sorry guys, I think Mr. Archie Turner must have mistaken. I don't want this club or anything from him. I never demanded, I never wanted. I am happy with my waitress job. I hope he won't kick me out after I do this." Saying this, she tore the papers in front of everyone.
Archie was stunned to see it; she refused it in front of hundreds of people. This was something he never thought about before. Those papers tore up right in front of his eyes, and he stood there, wide-eyed in shock. Furious, he started glaring at Celeste.
"Thank you so much. Now I can leave." Saying this, Celeste walked downstairs. She was breathing heavily. Archie stood there, gritting his teeth. He opened the car box and took out a can of beer from it. He opened it and started drinking. He appeared enraged, and his eyes turned red due to extreme anger.
"I told you, you should have thought about it before doing this. How do you know that girl isn't what you think she is?" Chen was trying to explain to him. When Archie mentioned transferring the club's ownership to Celeste in the evening, Chen had tried to reason with him a lot. But Archie was convinced that Celeste wouldn't let this opportunity slip away. She had a lot of debt. And no matter how big her self-esteem was, it couldn't be bigger than a club making millions in profit. But he had been proven wrong.
Celeste had humiliated him in front of the entire club, crushing his ego under her feet. "I will make that girl learn a lesson. How dare she insult me like this." Archie took another sip of beer. Just then, Archie's phone started ringing. Seeing the time, Chen understood who might be calling.
"Hello Archie. Please forgive me. I am very ashamed of what I did. I love you very much." It was Zina, Archie's ex-girlfriend and a model. She was apologizing to Archie for what she had done that day. "I will cut my pulse if you don't forgive me. I love you, Archie." She started crying. Here, that girl whom he wanted to trap was not showing any interest in him, and his ex already wanted him back.
Archie rubbed his forehead. He knew that when he asked Zina not to come to him with a baby scheme, she came up with another one. She knew that Archie's biggest threat was the rumors which overshadowed his reputation.
"Zina, stop crying," Archie told her. He really wanted to hang up the call, but he could not imagine the scenario of the media blaming him for the death of a girl, even though Zina was just trying to threaten him.
"I won't do anything if you meet me tomorrow. It's been more than ten days that I haven't seen you." Zina told him. Archie rubbed his hair; he was already irritated by what had happened today.
"Alright. We will meet tomorrow. Hotel Champagne Plus, Greek Road. Sharp 6 pm in the evening," Archie explained her address and hung up the call.
"Was that Zina?" Chen asked him. He was driving the car, and the car was heading into the deep night. The moon shone brightly in the sky, illuminating the road with its silvery hues.
"Yeah." Archie continued drinking his beer.
"I thought you broke up with her," Chen said. Archie nodded. How she disrespected his Grandpa when that girl literally let grandpa stay for more than a week. How strange he was.
"I did. She needs to accept that," Archie said, and the car stopped in front of his mansion.
"That man must be crazy for you. Who gifts a club to a girl whom he met for the third time? Either he really fell for you like crazy or he had some weird motive behind it." Shasha told her while shaking the drink in the shaker. Celeste tapered her eyes. Shasha had more experience in handling men than any other girl. She could count the steps just by seeing the legs. "But I don't think he had any motive for you. You both are not even connected," she explained.
"That makes me doubt." Celeste said with a nervous face. Suddenly, her phone started ringing. She picked her phone from the counter.
"Oh my my. Tell me, are you praying a lot these days? One boy went, and another began approaching you." Shasha said while seeing the phone. It was Andrew who was calling Celeste.
"Yes, Andrew," Celeste answered. She had just texted him about not being able to give him money this month, and he had agreed too. Did he want the money back?
"Actually, I have to discuss Jack's treatment and progress. Can you meet me tomorrow?" He asked her. Andrew knew they were not going to meet this month again, so he made another excuse.
"Alright. When should I come to the hospital?" Celeste asked him.
"Not to the hospital. I will be on holiday tomorrow. What if we meet in Champagne Restaurant, Greek Road?" Andrew told her. She thought for a while and then agreed. Anyways, she had no time to know about Jack's progress because Jack turned irritable after the session of chemotherapy and asked Celeste to leave as soon as possible. So she never got a chance to speak with him.
"Alright. I will be there. Just text me the location and time." She said and hung up the call.
