Meeting in a restaurant!

1401 Words
It was a holiday the next day, Celeste woke up late in the morning. Jack was still sleeping, she made herself a coffee and rested on the sofa in the living room. It's been many days that she relaxed and had a coffee while watching her favourite show on Netflix, but as soon as she logged in to her phone, it showed the password was changed. She crinkled her nose, a few days before she asked for it from one of her colleagues but seemed she preferred changing the password rather than refusing her. She turned the television on and started taking the life out of the remote. As she was changing the channel, Archie's face appeared on screen. Her heart skipped a beat to see him unexpectedly. "Oh! This person is not willing to live with me peacefully." She muttered. He was giving an interview. He appeared quite different, more attractive. Celeste kept the remote aside. "Mr. Archie. We heard that Mr. Turner was the closest to you. How do you feel about it?" A news anchor asked him. Archie took a deep breath. "I am still not able to accept that Grandpa is no more. I think he is still here with me." Archie said with a mild smile. Celeste felt bad about it. "I should have found out about that old man that night." She thought. "Mr Turner had left with 100 billion dollars net worth, but his will is pending to announce," Anchor asked him. "I think we are still mourning so it's not appropriate to do it now." Archie's voice sank, and Anchor gave him a glass of water. "100 billion.." Celeste stared at the number on the screen, she was hardly able to count the zeros in it. She could not understand how her fate was connected to him, All of a sudden they met and he started getting crazy over her. He was pursuing her and that made Celeste a little weird. She had no belief in love at first site. Especially when she was no match for him. After listening to his previous affairs and scandal with model Zina, she understood his choice of girls. She was nowhere around them. "Oh s**t! That means that Oldie was his grandson. We missed the chance. We missed it.." Celeste turned back and saw Jack who was watching the television behind her. Her eyes widened when she heard that. "Do you know him?" She asked with a shocked gaze. "Seemed like it was only me who doesn't know him." She curled her lips. Jack sat beside her and grabbed the coffee mug from her hand and took a sip of it. "Not personally. He owns the top 10 expensive cars in the world. I have seen his collection on YouTube." Jack added Celeste grabbed a cup back from his hands. "If we asked him about his grandpa, he could have gifted us one of his expensive cars," Jack said. Celeste hit him with a pillow. "Enough. Don't trust these rich people. They aren't always nice with others." Celeste left by saying it. It was six in the evening when Celeste remembered that Andrew had invited her to a restaurant on Greek Road. Celeste was still watching a television show. Jack had gone out with his friends. Celeste took out a red one-piece dress from her closet and placed it on the bed. Shasha had gifted it to her on her birthday. It had a rather deep neckline, and Celeste had worn it only once, on her birthday. She hadn’t had an occasion to wear it since. Today, after many months, she was going to a restaurant, so she thought of wearing it. When she searched that restaurant on Google, she found it was quite luxurious, so she decided to wear something good and take some pictures there to upload on social media. She went to the bathroom and started showering. She scrubbed her body with body wash. She shampooed and conditioned her golden brown hair, making them even softer. Today was a holiday, so this was part of Celeste's routine since she didn't have time to take care of herself on other days. She came out, dried her hair, styled it nicely, and put on the red one-piece dress. She opened her little makeup box and applied some makeup. Little foundation on her face and cherry red lipstick, her favourite. That lipstick she saved for some special occasion. She stepped out of her house and everyone stared at her with surprise she looked too amazing, after the same uniform for six days a week, and the same ponytail she was wearing good attire after many days. She took the subway and arrived at the Greek Road station. The restaurant was just within walking distance so she walked there. She reached there and stood in front of Hotel Champaign, it was not a hotel but a luxurious palace-like structure. Her single glance was not able to capture the image of that restaurant. she wondered why Andrew called her in such a luxurious restaurant. She went inside and started looking around. Just then, Andrew waved at her; he was sitting on a chair in front. Celeste went over there. "Doctor Andrew, I'm sorry I'm late," Celeste said, and she sat down on the chair. "How many times have I told you to call me Andrew, not Doctor Andrew," Andrew said. Andrew was very handsome. There was always a slight smile on his face, and whenever he looked at Celeste, that smile became even deeper. "I'm sorry I haven't paid you this month," Celeste said in a guilty tone. Suddenly, Andrew held Celeste's hand. "Celeste, it's okay. You can pay me late. I'm a doctor and I can earn well. Now, you smile, or should I tell you a joke?" Andrew said, Andrew was a little funny and loved to tell her jokes. When it was the first chemotherapy of Jack, she was so nervous but Andrew made her feel better. "Stop," Archie told his driver to stop the car. He was in front of the Hotel Champagne. Archie got out of the car and told the driver to park it. As soon as he got there, Zina ran up to him and wrapped her arm around his neck. "Archie, I miss you. You have no idea how much I've missed you," Zina hugged him, and Archie pushed her away in an annoyed manner. "Huh?" Zina looked towards him. "Can we go inside? I have an urgent meeting at eight o'clock." Archie said while looking at his watch. He had deliberately come late, even though Zina had called him at five o'clock. They both went inside and started heading towards their reserved seats. Suddenly, Archie noticed the table in front of them where Celeste and Andrew were sitting. Andrew was holding her hand and she was laughing. As soon as he saw them, Archie's expression sharpened. He had never seen Celeste laugh like that before. They were talking. His nose crinkled and his hands fisted into a punch; he didn't know why but felt an intense burning in his chest. "What happened?" Zina looked towards Andrew. "Isn't he Andrew, the son of your dad's friend?" Zina said, but she couldn't understand why Archie suddenly got so angry. She had never seen Archie so angry before. "Yeah.." Archie's eyes were not on Andrew but on Celeste, he hated to see her smiling, laughing and especially when Andrew was in front of her. "Why don't we say hello to him?" Archie said and went ahead. "What a present surprise." Archie went to them and said, Celeste was laughing at the joke that Andrew just said now, but her smile vanished as soon as she saw Archie in front of her. Her face was startled, and Archie noticed that her face turned gloomy again after seeing her. He gazed at her hand that was held by Andrew, she immediately took it back. "Hey, Archie. Long time no see.." Andrew smiled and shook his hands with Archie, and Celeste realised that Andrew and Archie must be close to greet each other like this. Archie's face was as cold as ice. He stared at Celeste who looked amazing today, 10 times more beautiful than she usually looks. That red colour one piece and makeup on her face. Zina just got envious to see her.
