Chapter 5
Celeste was thrilled when that tall and handsome man in a black suit kicked the debt thugs. He punched their faces, and she was just amazed at how skilful that person could be. They had troubled her for the last two months; she was tired of changing houses. Sometimes they just abused her. Now she was enjoying seeing them punished by that unknown man.
"She didn't pay a debt of one million. She is running away from us. Tell her to return our money," the stout goon who was the leader of the thugs spoke to that man.
"So will you ask a girl to give her body?" He grabbed his collar and punched his face. He was amazing with his every move. The thugs realized they could not tackle him. The other two immediately got up and got into the car, hurrying inside.
The car started, and they opened the door. One chaser who was hit by that young man pushed him and immediately entered the car, which drove away.
Celeste breathed heavily, thinking luckily they had not seen her house. She was saved for now.
"You must be fine." Archie held her purse and gave it back to her. She just grabbed it, her expression was scared. Not even grateful. She wanted to say thanks to him but she was puzzled why would a person risk his own life just to save her. Since childhood, she hadn't met anyone kind of like this, so she doubted him. Archie felt weird and started leaving.
"Celeste.."
He stopped when he heard someone call this name. The name he had been searching for for a while.
"Can't you wait for me?" A girl with curly hair walked ahead and put her hands on the shoulder of a girl whom he saved. His brows furrowed to see her. His nostrils flared up, and his teeth gritted automatically.
"I thought you would be late. Jack is waiting for me." Celeste answered her.
"Archie, I have called the police officer. They will be...." Chen arrived there, but seeing Archie's expression, he realized they had found that girl.
"What are you doing..." Shasha's eyes rolled at two handsome men standing there. Her eyes stuck on Chen.
Archie twitched his lips. "If you don't mind, we can drop you at your house. What if those thugs come back again?" He looked around and pretended to be alert.
Celeste felt weird, she just met him and he wanted to drop her at her home. She shook her head and refused.
"No thanks. You have helped me enough. Thanks for that." She grabbed Shasha's hand and started leaving. The world is not a fairy tale that anyone is willing to help her without any reason.
"Hey. Not at all. We are not stupid to refuse this offer." Shasha winked at Celeste. Celeste didn't want to take any more help from those guys. Once she was trapped by those debt chasers already, even these guys didn't seem genuine to her. But Shasha was crazy, she agreed and immediately got into the car. Celeste tapered her eyes.
"Why are you getting late?" Shasha pulled her inside. No matter how much Celeste resisted her. Shasha poked her elbow at Celeste and asked her to cooperate.
"Are you mad or what? We are sitting in a stranger's car. Haven't you seen what happened a while before?" Celeste whispered in Shasha's ears while looking at Archie who was staring at her from the rear mirror. His eyes tapered while he watched her. "Do you think they want to help us?"
"Shut it right now. You know I am tired of those poor matches on Tinder. Why are you being this stupid." Shasha whispered in her ears again and maintained a fake smile on her lips. But her voice was enough loud that make a smirk to Archie and Chen.
"Miss Baker, we came to talk to you about something..." Chen was going to speak about the will, but Archie interrupted him.
"We came to know about my grandpa living with you when he was missing. He told us about you before he died." Archie said, and Celeste was speechless for a moment. She could not believe that it was the last meeting of the two of them.
Chen was surprised to see Archie's changed behaviour. He was no longer enraged but suddenly turned into a polite person, which he was not at all.
"Oh. I am sorry for that. He was a nice man." Celeste felt sad about him. Chen watched everything with doubtful eyes. He was not sure what was going on in Archie's mind. He just wanted to kill Celeste Baker a while ago, and now he was driving her to her house.
"By the way, can you tell me how you know my grandpa? You must have known him for a while..." Archie tried to decipher the relationship between her and his grandpa. He became sure that she didn't seduce his grandpa.
"No. I found him injured on the street, but he denied having any relatives. How come you are his grandson?" Celeste was puzzled because that old person hadn't talked about anyone from his family in a week. Looking at the man in front of her, he also seemed to belong to a wealthy family. Then why did that old man pretend to be poor? This created even more doubt about Archie in her mind.
"Oh.. so you helped him." Archie smiled without any creases around his eyes. He thought for a while.
"Are you guys free tomorrow?" Archie asked Celeste. Shasha was just ready to agree but Celeste stopped her.
"No. We have a work day. Sorry." Celeste said giving an excuse but her face already meant that she didn't want to meet him. "Can you stop the car please?" She asked before reaching her apartment. Archie looked around and found no building there. Celeste insisted him again and the car stopped. She immediately got out of the car and pulled Shasha out of it.
"Thanks for saving me and this ride. I think we should not meet again." Celeste said and closed the door. She sounded rude and scared. It made Archie furious, he sharpened his eyes. Celeste already walked away, he kept watching her angrily. When Chen saw him again in his previous gesture, he was baffled.
"What in your mind?" Chen asked him, He already knew that Archie thinking about something.
"If I had known she was Celeste, I would have not saved her from those goons." Archie greeted his teeth and regretted saving her. "I would have borne the loss due to news spreading about murder in front of my club rather than giving my f*****g shares to someone like her," Archie grunted. Chen rubbed his chin, if Archie had this much hatred for her then why did he act so polite with her?
"When are you going to tell her about the will?" Chen asked him. He felt that she was a nice woman
"I will tell her about the will. I will announce it." Archie was driving his car, his eyes were straight, but it was more like he was watching something else, not the road. "But then, I will decide that."
"Are you planning something weird right?" Chen was worried. Archie's silence was more dangerous than his anger.
"Just wait and watch. I will get back my company from that gold digger. Even though I had to stoop so low for it." Archie smirked again.
He recalled when he was hitting the thug who kept saying that he wanted his money back. He knew that woman didn't know about the will. If she had, she would have assured them to return the money. It was risky to tell her about the will.
"You just have to help me to pursue her. I will get the company back, even though I have to marry her."
“WHAT?” Chen was shocked to hear that, it was unbelievable that a person like Archie would be ready to marry. He hated marriage and love saying it was just a trap.
“but you said you hate marriage.” Chen gave him a reminder. Archie twitched his lips.
“But I love s*x and my company,” He winked at Chen and continued driving. Chen realised Archie was too difficult to understand.
