ALPHA AXEL (The Curse Alpha)

Chapter 7: Embraced

Zoe's POV

“I think she's the Alpha's mate; that's why she brought her here in our pack.” I heard the woman whisper as they were doing something beside me. I closed my eyes and secretly felt how many there were with me. It looked like Alpha Axel carried me into his pack.

“Y-Yeah, I think she was his mate. Alpha Axel might have wanted so much to be free from the curse.” The other woman said. I groaned silently; I couldn't understand what they were talking about. What was the curse that they were talking about?

Were they saying that Alpha Axel was cursed?

They kept talking, and I heard everything. When I felt that they weren't in the bedroom, I slowly opened my eyes. I turned in every direction, and all I saw wasn't too familiar. I glanced in the mirror, and I saw a scissor on the table. So, I quickly took it and hid it.

If Alpha Axel wanted me to cage in his pack, I couldn't accept that even though he was my mate. I quickly returned to bed when I heard two people entering the room. I was holding my breath when I felt their presence beside me.

“She is still asleep. Well, this woman wasn't too beautiful, unlike Joana.” I frowned when I heard her insulting me. I don't care who Joana was, but she didn't have any right to insult me.

My father always told me that I am beautiful. That's why he loved staring at my face. He recalled someone whenever he saw me. That's why I couldn't accept that someone was insulting me secretly as if I couldn't hear it.

“Hey! You're a liar; our Luna was gorgeous. And she had an innocent face, and that's why Alpha Axel fell for her. Joana was a w***e; don't you dare try to compare our Luna to her again. Do you understand me?” The woman roared.

“I-I'm sorry, Savannah.” I almost felt that the other woman had a position in this pack. She didn't respond to the other woman, but she went to the door.

“Don't let her escape. She's the key to my brother's curse. Once she runs away from our pack, I will behead you.” The woman used an authoritative voice before she closed the door.

Was Savannah Alpha Axel's sister? She's scary, based on her tone. Hearing her voice makes me have difficulty gulping.

I opened my eyes, and I saw the woman who was too busy fixing the things on the cabinet. She was putting on a lot of women's clothes, which I think was for me. She turned her back on me, so I quickly took the scissor that I stole, and she gasped when within a second, the scissor was pointing at her neck.

“I need to get out of here. If you want to remain alive, I want you to help me escape this pack.” She trembled as she tried to restrain me. So I quickly grabbed her neck and let the scissor's edge meet her skin.

“Stop moving!” I mumbled. I pulled her hair, so she groaned in pain. I looked in every direction, I gasped when I saw how beautiful the room was, but still, I couldn't accept what Alpha Axel had done to me.

“Don't you dare use the mind link? I know that you're trying to communicate with them.” I told her; her eyes widened in fear. I pulled her outside of the room, and I saw a lot of members who stopped what they were doing.

“If you won't free me, I will kill this woman. This is kidnapping!” I shouted. I glared at the beautiful young lady when she tried to move forward with me. And I felt an energy coming out of my body.

“Luna, you don't need to do this. And we're not going to hurt you!” After hearing her tone, I guessed she was Savannah. So, I moved closer to the edge of the scissors.

My heart started beating fast, and I could feel that they were all shocked when they saw how my eyes turned orange. I walked, and Savannah tried to move, but she couldn't.

“I don't have any plans to hurt this lady. I want to be back in my pack.” Savannah tried to move, and I saw the fear on her face. She gasped.

“Please, you should stay here. My brother needed his mate.” She groaned. Her eyes turned red as she tried to shift.

“It's your brother who needs to talk to me. He couldn't bring me here without my consent. I wouldn't say I like it.” I shouted. I removed my hands from the lady that I used as a hostage, and my eyes kept glowing.

Since my father found out that I have this kind of power, he promised that I would reveal it to anyone. He secretly taught me how to use this power, though he couldn't say anything. Like, what kind of power is this?

‘Zoe, you shouldn't do that. Our mate needed us. He's a good man.’ I shook my head when I heard my wolf trying to communicate with me.

‘If he's a good man, he won't take us in this pack without our consent. My wolf, you know that I don't like jerk male wolves.’

‘But he was not a jerk. Okay, I think he needed it severely. That's why he captured us here in this pack. He might be scared that you will reject him.’

‘Then, thank you for your suggestion because I will go through the rejection after what he did to us.’

‘Shut up; he's our last mate. Don't recklessly decide. Why don't you try to get to know him better? Because the Moon Goddess said to me that he was kind.’

‘Don't you dare mention the Moon Goddess to make me say yes? Okay, I don't want to be here. I want to escape from him. I think he's a bad one. I know this kind of pack; it was too popular because the Alpha of it was too ruthless. He killed a lot of werewolves!’

‘Zoe, there's another side of the story. Don't judge someone because of the gossip that you've heard.’

I rolled my eyes, and I immediately cut my conversation with my wolf. She was too lovely, and I'm so done with being nice to many people.

My father's decision still hurts me. And I don't think my wolf would understand me for what I went through. I looked back at Savannah, who had a severe expression. She gritted her teeth, so I smirked at her.

“You should stop wasting your energy, Savannah. I'm not a bad one here; it's your brother. You're a woman, and I don't understand why you didn't understand me.” I started walking to the door and ran so fast. I saw a lot of members stop, and they started chasing me because of their Alpha.

‘I told you to stay in this pack. Why don't you trust me, Zoe? I can't believe that you're quite stubborn.’ I laughed when my wolf stress-scolded me.

‘If he apologizes to me, maybe, I will change my mind.’ I answered. I looked back, and my eyes widened when I saw a big black wolf running toward me. So, I quickly turned into my wolf form as my heart was racing.

The smell of the black wolf was too lovely in my nose. I knew that it was Alpha Axel, and I saw a lot of wolves who were trying to help him. I gritted my teeth.

Why does he need to chase me? I don't understand him! I wanted to be treated fairly, and he would apologize to me. I turned around, and I stopped when I saw a white wolf. She immediately attacked me, so I quickly dodged her attack.

I was thrown on the tree, and I groaned in pain. I could almost hear how my bones bumped into the three. I glared at her.

She stopped before me, and Alpha Axel and his companions immediately looked at her. The white wolf changed into a woman form, and I saw a beautiful woman with a face like Savannah's.

“She's your mate, son?” The woman asked Alpha Axel. s**t, so she's the mother of that Alpha. She stared at me as if she was waiting for me to get back into my human form.

“Zoe, why are you doing this? I don't mean any harm!” Alpha Axel frustratedly yelled. So, I don't have a choice but to get back into my human form.

“I can't believe that you still dare to ask me that. How dare you bring me to your pack without my consent? Did you know that what you did was a kidnapping?” I shouted out of my lungs, the woman glanced at me, and I saw her widen her eyes in disbelief. She moved closer to me, so I immediately stepped back. She got me hurt because I didn't want to hurt anyone, and I knew that she knew that.

“I told you, brother, she would be mad at you! You didn't listen to what I advised you!” Jake started blaming Alpha Axel.

Alpha Axel's mother didn't remove her eyes from me. I felt my blood boiling in anger and energy coming out inside my body. The woman gasped, and I saw the fear on her pretty face.

“Gianna!” A handsome man shouted as the woman collapsed. He went to Alpha Axel's mother and carried her.

“Daddy, what is happening to mommy?” Alpha Axel was too worried because of her mother, and I felt my heart was touched when I heard the sadness in his tone.

The handsome man glimpsed at me. He stopped and sighed. He avoided his eyes on me and started walking near me.

“You're Zoe.” He stated while he was carrying his mate. He sighed deeply when he heard Alpha Axel growling in jealousy.

“She was my mate, daddy.” The handsome man rolled his eyes at Alpha Axel, who had a murderous glare at his father.

“I understand why you're mad. My son took you and brought you into our pack without your consent. I'm sorry if he's such a jerk.” I was shocked when I heard how sorry he was. I wanted to be more furious, but seeing how stressed he was, I stopped myself.

“Yeah, my brother was a jerk, daddy. I told him that he shouldn't do that. Zoe, I'm sorry for what my brother did to you. He was too eager to find his mate, and his first mate rejected him, so he felt anxious that you might leave him.” Jake butts into his father's apology.

“Okay, Sir,” I answered.

The handsome man shook his head; I glanced at Alpha Axel's mother, peacefully asleep in her mate's arms. I pursed my lips and sighed.

“I'm Harvey Cray.” I nodded at Alpha Axel's husband, but I heard him growl at his father.

“He's my father, and he's not available, okay? I'm your mate.” I rolled my eyes when I heard Alpha Axel's grumpy tone.

“Alpha Axel, I know that he's your father. You don't need to remind me; you're too possessive.” I couldn't stop myself from commenting, which made him feel displeased.

“Come again?” Alpha Axel glared at me; He scowled at me, and I arched my brows at him.

“Axel, please, why don't you introduce your mate to us?” Harvey glimpsed at Alpha Axel.

“No way, she can introduce herself, daddy.” Alpha Axel stubbornly mumbled.

“I'm Zoe.” I didn't tell them my last name because I thought it was unimportant.

“Nice meeting you, Zoe. Can I ask you a favor? Can you please go back in our pack so we can talk?”

I stopped because of his sudden favor. I don't want to return to their pack because I don't trust them. I don't trust them all, and I'm sure this pack was known to be ruthless to other groups.

“I promised my son wouldn't do anything to you as long as you didn't want it. I'm a man of words, and once my son does something nasty to you, I'll be the one who will punish him even though he was the leader of this pack.” Harvey added. He glanced at Alpha Axel when he heard his complaint again. I don't understand why I need to be here in this pack.

“Okay, but once your son did something nasty to me or even forced me to get his mark. I will leave and reject him.” I nodded. Harvey's eyes softened after I agreed, and we decided to return to the pack. But I stopped when I felt an energy coming out in our way.

I closed my eyes to feel my surroundings, and I opened them immediately when the arrow was going to Alpha Axel. It was so fast that they almost didn't notice it, so I ran too fast at him.

“Alpha Axel!” I shouted his name. He turned around, and his eyes widened when I quickly pushed him. And I felt a slight pain in my back. My body fell to the ground, and I heard a loud commotion. They panicked, and I stared at the sky and saw the red rays again.

“Ahh–” I screamed in pain as I tried to remove the arrow in my back but failed.

“Zoe! f**k!” Alpha Axel quickly moved closer to me, and I don't know if I imagined that I saw him getting worried about me. I gasped when I felt my vision become blurry, and I thought I'd finally lose consciousness.

“W-Why did you do that? You don't need to receive the arrow for me. I'm the Alpha of this pack!” I moaned in pain and moved my head. I coughed, and a sticky liquid came out of my mouth.

“Axel, stop nagging at her. We should bring her to the hospital.” I smiled when Harvey smacked Alpha Axel's head as if he was disappointed in his son.

‘I told you, Zoe! You're so stubborn!’ I can't believe that wolf was starting to scold me too.

‘Oh, please, I already saved your mate. Why don't you help me heal myself?’

‘I can do that for you, but I have limitations too. I don't understand why you have power. The Moon Goddess didn't spoil everything for me.’

‘My wolf, it's not my problem anymore. I think it's normal that a wolf has an ability. I still remember that my father told me that some wolves have healing power and some wolves were born to become legendary.’

‘Are you telling me that you're special? Then, it's great; I'm special too. Aside from that, your wolf was more stunning than you; I will accept what you think about us.’

‘Why don't you heal me? It hurts.’

‘Okay, calm down. I'm trying to help you. I suggest that you must embrace Alpha Axel. The mate bond will help you to heal quickly.’

‘Seriously? I don't understand what the use of that is. And it isn't very comfortable.’

‘If I were you, you should do what I want you to do. I am trying to help you, then do your part, Zoe.’

I glimpsed Alpha Axel; I swallowed even more when I felt the arrow was too painful in my back. Alpha Axel carried me in a bridal style, so I hooked my arms on him and hugged him tightly. He stiffened when I hid my head in his chest.

“What are you doing, Zoe?” He hoarsely asked. I felt the sparks coming to my body, and my wolf was howling happily. Damn this wolf! I thought she was trying to poke fun at me, but it's true.

“Don't you dare try to tease me, Alpha Axel? My wolf told me to embrace you so I could heal too fast. It's the mate bond thing.” I felt my cheeks numb when I noticed that the corner of his lips rose a little.

“I didn't say anything. You sound defensive; your tone makes me think you intentionally hugged me so you could feel me. Nice one, Zoe; I thought you didn't like to be with me.” My eyes widened in disbelief; he pulled my head so I could hear his heartbeat. I heard a loud whistle, and I knew that it had come from Jake.

“Please, just shut up, please,” I growled, and I heard his soft chuckle, which made my heart tickle. I can't believe this; this wasn't true.

I closed my eyes when I heard the loud beat of his heart, and it gave me comfort and slowly calmed me down.

Alpha Axel ran too fast while he pressed my head on his chest. I bit my lips when I felt my heart racing too, and I didn't understand why my heart was reacting that way.

I breathed deeply when I felt that I was about to sleep, I heard Alpha Axel kept asking me a random question, but I didn't understand his words

His words were floating in my ears, and I couldn't move my body, so I stopped pushing myself to move.

“Don't you dare sleep! Please answer every question that I ask you. Is that clear?” But I didn't even hear everything when I felt myself floating before I lost consciousness.

‘Daddy, before I die, I hope you're with me. I'm sorry.’
