I pulled out a book from my bag back called Sink or Swim. I started reading it but haven't completed. Watching the trees pass by blurred was really starting to make my head reel. The book is about a half mermaid half human who has to choose between water and land. She discovers a whole new side of the world that she never knew before and finds romance.
"Wake up! Nelly you have to wake up. We're here." I hadn't realized I've fallen asleep. I opened my eyes and cursed before closing them quickly. The sunlight was too bright for my eyes. I reopened them again trying to get them to adjust to the light.
My Aunt's house was big and beautiful. It was mainly made of wood and glass. It was surrounded by forest and I swear I heard water flowing. It had a pebbled path which led up to it. All in all, it was just breathtaking. My aunt was waiting for us at the front with whom I assumed was her son.
My Aunt looked exactly like my mom which was expected since they're twins. The both had the same physical features, with long brown hair and beautiful pink lips. As for the boy, he looked to be around my age. He had brown hair and a height of about 6 feet. He was cute.
I opened the car door and got out. Bad move. I fell down flat on my butt because my legs were numb. I glared at them. I heard snickers and when I looked, I saw my mom and aunt trying to stifle their laughter whereas my cousin, whose name I don’t know, was full on laughing his f*****g ass off.
I just glared at them too and positioned myself on the very green grass waiting patiently for the numbness to subside.
I felt a presence next to me and when I turned, I saw my cousin sitting right beside me. "Hey cuz. The names Alan and your piercings are awesome! Got any tattoos? "
"Umm thanks. And I'm not telling you because I'm still mad at you for laughing at me."
"I wasn't laughing at you. I was umm laughing at umm that squirrel ummm fighting that iguana? "
I couldn't help myself but burst out laughing. What a horrible liar. I never knew people could actually lie that bad. I mean how possibly hard could it be?
I bet he gets caught with everything. When my laughing fit died down, I turned to him and said, " Seriously dude?! I saw it too!"
"Really?!" he narrowed his eyes on me and I was in a laughing fit again but this time I fell on my back and curled up clutching my stomach which started to hurt because I was laughing so hard.
When I calmed down, he had an irritated look on his face. I watched him and put on my innocent look. He just sighed and continued. "So, I never got your name. And the answer to my question. "
"Oh yeah... My name is Nelly and no I don't have any tattoos."
"Hmmm. Well whatever I'll be inside."
"Yeah cool. I'll just be out here alone."
"Have fun!" he said and took off inside the house.
The numbness finally went away and my legs felt like sharp middles were pricking them. I stood up, brushed out my jeans and went inside. Inside the house was even more beautiful than the outside. While admiring its beauty, the wind was knocked out of me, and I fell flat on the carpeted floor.
Something with hair landed on top of me as well and I almost screamed if I didn't see what or may I say who it was. Alan then came out running from the same direction of the little girl who is currently squishing me and stopped just in front us.
She had the same features as Alan but just more feminine and cuter. "And what do we have here?" I asked her.
"I'm Alan's shit." she replied. I looked at her in disbelief.
"Who told you that?"
"Alan. He said that I look like him so I'm his shit."
"Baby what's your name?"
"My name is Ava."
"Well Ava, do you know what is s**t?" she just shook her shoulders. "I want you to go tall Alan that you're not his s**t and that the only s**t here is his face." I whispered in her ears.
She went and told him exactly that. And the reaction on his face was priceless. Ava and I both started laughing and Ava kept saying "s**t face" between laughs.
"Looks like s**t face here got a new nick name."
