CHAPTER 15: First Day

GICCA'S POINT OF VIEW

"You should not join us anymore Eliote, this is not your fight. You shouldn't have followed Gicca, I know you're a damn stalker." Ali said rudely as we walked through the middle of the forest.

My friends was left no choice yesterday, but to let Eliote stay and join the mission. Lance wants to make sure Eliote does not leak any information about where we are. Even though he hates Eliote, he could do nothing but endure his hatred. He must accept him, or else they'll lose me. I know they don't like Eliote, but, he was unfortunate yesterday. Do they have no heart? He is also human, he could get sick. It's fine with me if they plant madness for me for being a burden to our plan, what matters to me is that I don't lose my concern for others.

Anyway, we just took a taxi to this forest. We made sure we were fully masked, so that we would not be recognized. Our bags are also packed with the equipment we will need for this mission such as: flashlight, first aid kit, water, food, and more.

Eliote insisted. He wanted to come with us because he's afraid that I might get hurt again. I appreciated his concern for me but it was really too much. Does he like me? Looks like he likes me. He just met me but he already has a big concern for me. isn't it obvious?.

"Let him, Ali. We need a genius in this mission." Rique joked. He even managed to joke in the middle of our situation.

Ali just glared at him and gave him a kicked. She obviously couldn't deal with Eliote, she really could not accept him to be part of this squad. "Isn't Lance enough yet?" she asked while being hugged by annoyance as she held Rique's neck.

Rique frowned and slowly laughed, probably because of the tickle he felt as Ali held his neck. "It's better if we have two geniuses." he said while holding back a laugh.

"You two, stop!" Lance grimaced, now in the middle of Ali and Rique. He is pushing the two away from each other. "We need to be serious here. Let Eliote come with us. He decided to endanger himself, let him. "

Ali just clenched her fist while Rique held back a grin. He even teased Ali with his tongue when Lance turned away. Rique is so crazy. Nothing really sensible can be done with him.

We continued walking. Ali remained silent as her arms crossed, Rique never stopped chattering, Lance kept on glancing at the sketched map he had made, and Eliote is quietly following me on my walk.

Lots of insect's bites on our skin. There are so many insects in this forest area. My skin is full reddish from their bites, "Are we still far away?" I asked impatiently while scratching my neck.

"Few more steps," Eliote replied quietly which sparked a smile on my lips.

"How did you find out? Did you look at the sketched map made by Lance?" I laughed and asked him while still scratching my neck.

He shook his head and smiled with his lips, "Just kidding... I just want to answer you." he said.

"Nonsense," Ali whispered even though she isn't looking at us. Anger is still evident in her voice. She's still angry with Eliote and Rique, *sighs* good thing, Eliote didn't react to Ali.

I took a deep breath and said, "Lance? Do you have any news there?" I asked as I moved my head a little to see him.

"We're near," he replied coldly without looking at me.

We just kept walking. Insect bites are increasing on our skin. I think I'm about to bleed because of my hard scratching. Ugh. Lots of insects, we are being enjoyed by the insects.

After a few minutes, we finally reached George Hark's mansion. I dropped my jaw and looked up as I strolled my gaze on it. So big! The gate is giant in size but it is rusting. Obviously, it has been unattended for a long time. As well as the walls of the mansion are covered with grass, spider's web, dirt and many more. George Hark's mansion looks like a haunted mansion.

"How can we get in?" Rique asked, now peeking inside the mansion.

"We'll probably break the gate. Evenjust a small portion, enough for us to fit on it." said Lance.

Eliote looked at the mansion and slowly walked his way to the front of the gate. He was silent. He just stared at it for minutes.

Ali and I frowned at each other, "What is he doing?" I whispered to her in a very weak voice.

"I won't be surprised if I find out that Eliote is crazy." She whispered in a louder voice. My eyes widened and I immediately covered her mouth because of the force of her words, Eliote might hear him. He might think we are backstabbing him.

"Argh!" I screamed when Ali bit the hand I used to cover her mouth. I glared at her and immediately punched her on her shoulder.

"Argh!" she screamed in pain too.

She is crazy. Her bite on my hand is so damn painful. My body has already been full of mosquito bites and then she even added it with a bigger bite!

"Shhh!" Lance calmed us down while his pointing finger is on his lips.

We all are stunned when Eliote suddenly knelt at the gate. He inserted his hand between the gate railing and viola! the gate opened.

We dropped our jaws as we watched the giant gate slowly opens. How did he do that?

"I told you, we need a genius in this mission." smiling Rique turned to us.

Eliote stood up and patted his knee, "Let's go inside," he smiled and invited us.

I just shrugged my shoulders while still dropping my jaw, "How?" I asked.

Ali slighty pushed me with her elbow as she whispered to me, "Don't be too amaze. What he did is easy." she said as if she is not proud of what Eliote had done.

I pouted and gave her a bad look. She is indeed an antagonist to Eliote's life in this mission.

"Whatever," I said while rolling my eyes.

"I can do that too." I heard Lance said while looking badly at Eliote who is now walking inside and distanced from us. I winced at what he said. Ali and him are both antagonist.

Even though what Eliote did was amazing, they would never on Earth applause to him. I think of, when will be the day that their madness towards Eliote will no longer be alive. Will that day come? or will never?

"You know I don't want to go on this mission, but since you are on it, I have no other choice than to come." said Eliote as we walked inside the mansion.

I laughed softly, "I'm not forcing you to come with us. Why did you come? Why did you look for me?" I asked as I strolled my eyes around.

"I can't leave you being on this without me. Afraid that something bad might happen to you,"

"Why are you so concerned about me when we just met?"

"I don't know either. When I first saw you, I immediately know it to myself... you needed me."

I laughed softly again because of what he said. We are a bit far from my friends so they will definitely not hear our conversation, "You are really funny. But hey, please answer me seriously, Eliote. Quit being a nut, just this once, okay?"

He stopped walking and smiled at me, "What is your question?"

I looked up at him and stared into his eyes, "Why did you follow me when you knew I was on the brink of disaster?"

"I followed you because I knew you were on the brink of disaster. I want to make sure you are safe."

"Why are you so concerned about me? Why are you risking yourself for me?"

"The truth is, I don't want your mom to be hurt when something bad happens to you."

"Why? Do you like my mom?"

"No, silly. I remember my mom with your mom."

"Is that the reason why you followed me? You don't want my mom getting hurt?"

He nodded, "Yes."

"Just because you remember your mom with my mom?"

"Yes,"

"Where is she?"

"I don't want to talk about it. It pains me."

"Oh? S-Sorry... anyway, how, how did you find me?"

He stopped and turned around. He first made sure my friends were away before he spoke, "The necklace your mom gave you," he said while pointing to the necklace I was wearing, "That is a secret tracker. Your mom loves you so much. Please take care of yourself for her. I told you, you should stay away from anything related to Amber Hark's case because the danger of it is still alive, but you did not listen to me. You're so hardheaded, Gicca."
