Those smiles must be prohibited or else I'll have chronic heart pain every time she does that. Of all the alluring and seducing smiles girls have shown me just to capture my attention, hers is effortlessly captivating not only my attention but also my heart. I didn't know I could easily fall for her. Well, I'm not sure if I'm falling for her. Maybe I'm just infatuated or so because of those killer smiles. But one thing's for sure, I can't stop my heart from pounding every time she attacks me with her beams. I should stop looking at her every time we talk or else, I might have a heart attack. "Are you okay?" She asked as she saw me spacing out. "Hmm." I nodded in response without meeting her gaze and kept my chin down. This is so not me. I am used to displaying poker dace but with confidence as if I don't give a d*mn in the world but this lady changes me into the opposite version of me. "I'll just send you a message after class to finish the activity so we can submit it before 5 pm." She said and as usual, I nodded and remained muted. "Did you just swallowed your tongue? Or is there something I did that made you so upset with me? Why did you suddenly stop talking to me?" She queried and that made me bothered so I looked at her immediately. "I-It's not like that. I'm just always quiet and barely talk unless I have something important to say. I mean, I barely talk nonsense. But I guess I'm saying a lot of nonsense just to explain myself even if I don't need to." I speak like I'm being interrogated and talks quickly as if I'm being chased. She looked at me and laughs so hard as she finds the way I talk funny. Why the heck do you laugh so beautifully? Will you please stop driving my heart crazy? "Oops. I didn't mean to offend you. Sorry, I'll stop. I just find you so adorable." She commented as she saw me frowning while looking at her laughing. If she only knew what's truly happening within me. "N-no, it's fine. But just to inform you, I heard a lot of complimenting words but I don't think adorable belongs to the list?! How could you call a fine grown-up man adorable?!" I mumbled. Hearing that made her pause for a moment and looked at me from head to toe intently. She rested her thumb under her chin and that is so cute. I'm dead! "You're right. Adorable doesn't fit you. It's supposed to be hot and charismatic." She uttered while nodding slowly as she realizes what's true fits for me. "Well, you are gorgeous. Way gorgeous when I see you in daylight." I returned the favor. She didn't respond so I look at her face to see her reaction and I was astonished to see her blushing after hearing those words as if it was the first time she hears those. I'm pretty sure she heard that a lot from random guys especially when she often goes to a bar on weekends. Why does she blushing over those simple words? "A-Are you okay? Did I say something infuriating?" I asked. "Y-yeah. I-I'm okay. I gotta go to the next class. I'll just send you a message later." Then she immediately left the room and forgets about her phone on her chair. I pulled her wrist to stop her from leaving and she was so shocked as our eyes meet at that very short distance. Her eyes are wide open as she stands closely towards me. We were both frozen and dumbfounded as we looked at each other this close. I gulped while she blinks her eyes multiple times. After a few seconds, we were able to gather ourselves back to reality and she immediately pulled her wrist away from my grip. "Oh, I-I'm sorry. I didn't... mean to..." I start stuttering for some reason. I don't know why I kept acting like I'm not myself when I'm with her. This is so annoying. Why can't I just act cool and proud like I always do? D*mn! "N-no. It's... Uhm. It's fine. Is there... anything you wanna...? She also couldn't find the words to say as we were both dumbfounded by the way I pulled her. "Oh, your phone. You almost left it here. That's why...I.." And she giggles forcibly. This is so awkward for the two of us. "T-Thanks. I gotta go now." She bid goodbye and walked hurriedly towards the door as she feels so shy with all the attention of our classmates. They were all screaming out of excitement when the two of us were so lost and don't know how to get over this awkwardness. "Match made in heaven~~~" A guy from the third row teases and everyone were giggling excitedly. I ignored them all as if I don't care about them and walked out of the room acting cool, as usual. ====== "Are you okay, dude?" Jeff asked as he was waving his palm right into my face to distract me from staring blankly. I just couldn't believe what's going on with me and why do I always act this way in front of her. "Dude! Are you with us?" Brent snapped me back from reality as we were waiting on our next class. Fortunately, our break time was just a few minutes different so we can still meet in our free time. "What's wrong with you? I know you're weird but you act weirder today!" Jeff commented. I looked at him and was about to ask something but I feel hesitant because I'm pretty sure they will gonna pester me about this. "Spill it, dude. It will just drive you crazy if things kept running in your mind without finding the answer you wanna hear." Brent is a psychology student. "Do you think it is possible to fall for someone in an instant?" I mumbled with a blank face, trying to act cool even in front of my friends. "Pfffft!~" They looked at each other after hearing me say that and they both laughed out loud as if they heard the funniest joke ever in their lives. I stared at them intently with furrowed brows and they slowly stopped laughing. "Sorry, dude. No offense meant but we just find it funny when the famous snobbish Casanova asks about falling for someone?! That's unbelievable." Jeff explained while grinning. But I just looked at them intently with blank faces. And that made them realize that I am not talking nonsense and I am truly pondering about it. "Serious?" Brent asked in disbelief. And I just stare at him without changing my facial expression. "Ow-kay... So you mean, the love at first thingy?" Brent added. "Not necessarily love because that may be overrated. Let's attracted." I explained. "Well, being attracted in just a glimpse of someone's face is never be impossible. That's a simple sign of appreciating beauty you just met in a few seconds. But liking someone is different." Brent asserted. "What do you mean?" I suddenly get more interested. "Well, attraction can come and go in a few seconds. It can change once you found someone more attractive as if she never exists in your memory. But liking someone, it's different. It's like her beauty imprinted in your heart and mind. Your heart pounds louder the more you see that beauty, the more you became her captive. You always have these mini heart attacks in every little move she makes." Brent described. I smacked my forehead with my palm as I listen to his explanations. D*mn it! This is not truly happening to me. Sh*t! Jeff put his palm on my forehead to check my temperature and compared it to his. He looked at me intently as if checking on my entire face. "W-what are you doing?!" I asked irritatedly. He makes me uncomfortable. "Are you sick or something?! You are acting weird. Tell me what's going on!" Jeff exclaimed. "I guess our friend who was known for being the snobbish Casanova is sick, indeed," Brent smirked. "What do you mean?" Asked the confused Jeff. "He is lovesick." And they were grinning as they felt excited at that thought. D*mn this Psychology nerd! I can't even deny it when it's too obvious in his eyes. They were all teasing me. "Wooooh~ Who is this mysterious girl who captivated our snobbish prince's heart." Jeff teased and I just pushed him with my shoulder as I find him irritating. They were all just laughing from excitement. My phone suddenly rings and her name displays as her call appear on my screen. "Margarette Lane~" Brent reads her name out loud and Jeff looks so excited. I picked up the call as she was asking me to meet with her for our activity. I was telling her that I should go to where she is but she kept insisting that she will come instead. After a few minutes and she finally arrived at the fast-food chain where we were staying. She immediately found me and again, displaying her pretty d*mn smile. Jeff and Brent were looking at me as they find me acting weird as if I am so nervous with her presence. This is how she truly affects me. "I-I didn't know you are with your friends. Hi, nice to meet you all again." And the two were dumbfounded with her greetings. Confused that she was telling me again when it's their first time to meet her. "Sam, remember?" She added and that gave them the idea of where dis they first meet. They were all catching up and fitting the puzzle pieces together as they find it amusing that we were able to meet again this way. Not to mention that we were all senior students in the same University. While they were busy catching up and chitchatting, all I did was enjoy staring at her wonderful face and warm gorgeous smiles. Her eye smiles were so irresistible and made my heart pounds so loud. I held onto my chest to cover it up, hoping that she will not hear this loud heartbeat of mine. D*mn it, Jace! The so-called captive you have mentioned before became your captor from now on.
