Dreign, who got away from the firefight and now into hiding, heard the news from one of the household’s televisions. So it was getting serious now and the police are now involved. It's a good thing though that the Police haven’t identified him as one of the primary suspects of the shootout. Because if it did, police would be coming to his home and interrogating his wife. Which is something that he can’t let happen. In one of the alleys of the informal settlers' household, Dreign tended his wounds by the medicine he robbed from the grocery store. It affected his morality there as a soldier but if he wants to survive in this game, he has to play a little bit dirty. Pouring the alcohol onto his wounds, he groaned in anguish and endured it by tightly clenching his jaw. It will only take days for it to heal since the knife wound is nothing serious as it has not struck his internal organs. With that, Dreign was ready to roll out again and decided to leave the vicinity of SM North Edsa. Police are already frolicking the place and roaming in the streets, it’ll be dangerous to stay here. With only his CQB assault rifle and Glock 17 semi-automatic pistol, he wades through the streets. Noticing the inquisitive and frightful gaze of the civilians around him and getting into their phone, Dreign realized that carrying a weapon in broad daylight will give his location. “I need a vehicle…” Ever since his vehicle was wrecked by the gentleman he met earlier, Dreign wanted to replace it with another. He needed it now, he needed to leave this place as soon as possible. Just as he thought of that, a red Toyota Vios passed by him. Dreign chased it and pointed his CQB rifle at the driver’s window. “Get out! I need your vehicle!” Dreign shouted. The driver stopped and left, slowly, out of his car with his hand raised. The fellow was a reasonable one. Dreign pushes him away and commandeered his vehicle. Putting his weapon right next to him, he floored the gas pedal, causing the vehicle to move forward. While driving, Dreign looked at his map. He thought of many places he can go within Metro Manila. There are too many hiding spots that players will have time to find him. Good thing that he has a home advantage, or else he’ll die sooner than he expected. Three hours later, nothing happened so far. All the players were moving on the map like a chess piece as if trying to circle one another. But due to their frequent and intermittent movement around the map, there weren’t able to. Dreign has been driving on the highway for three hours without a break. He thought that driving around is the logical way to do it as players will have a hard time finding him. But it’ll only be good when it’s not rush hour. Rush hour is two hours away and his current position and movement head south. To be exact, his current position is near MRT Magallanes Station. Before the rush hour, Dreign has been thinking of a place where he can hide from his pursuers if there’s one. Dreign assessed the data he was given twenty minutes earlier. The players were all heading south. Which means they are heading towards his position. This urges him to find the place around him and begin looking at the map. There was this commercial hub near him named Bonifacio Global City. It was a luxurious city akin to many foreign places such as Singapore due to its high standard of living and glitzy shopping Yes, that is a perfect place to hide. So he heads there and makes his way to the BGC. … Concurrently, at Dreign’s residence. Allie and Jasper were in the house, along with the police they called in hope of finding her husband. “Does your husband have a history of depression in his family?” the policeman asked. “No,” Allie answered. “How about having thoughts of suicide?” the policeman followed. “No,” Allie answered. “Sorry, I–I got to ask. Often, people who are sick, they want to go out on their own terms.” said the policeman as he puts away his pocket note “It’s okay.” Joseph understands. “Sorry, I have to ask this. Um, and for your husband’s sake, I need you, to tell the truth. Was he involved in anything illegal? Like drugs, financing crimes, anything that could help to explain the deposits you’ve been receiving?” “The idea that my husband would be involved in anything illegal is absurd.” “Okay, Uh my situation is this–I can’t even file a missing person’s report for 24 hours, so my hands are tied, but I’ll poke around and talk to some people. But I gotta be honest, I’m grasping right now.” “My husband is a good man. Please, if there’s anything you can do…” “Yeah, of course, I’ll do everything to help ma’am. So stay by the phone ma’am okay? I will notify you if something came up.” “Thank you…” Three hours later, 6:56 in the evening. The more time moves forward, the more Allie grows anxious about her husband. He called Joseph once more to somehow subside the feeling. “Cops said to stay by the phone, but no one’s calling. It’s already sunset. What if he’s in a ditch or somewhere?” “I reached out to everyone we know. No one’s heard from him. Is the money still coming in?” “Yeah, over 15,1 million dollars.” “Jesus…How?” “I don’t know, I don’t even know if Dreign is associated with someone who is a millionaire…Look I’m gonna check his records, see if there’s anything that can explain all this money coming in our banks.” “Okay, well, I’m gonna do another lap around the neighborhood, ‘cause I’m losing my mind just sitting here. You want Beatrice to come back over?” “Uh…no. I want to be alone.” “Okay. Everything’s gonna be alright. Just call me if you find anything.” Joseph hung up the phone and did another lap of searching. Meanwhile, Allie does everything she can to help by browsing through Dreign’s personal drawers, closets, and laptop. … Back to Dreign. Arriving at one of the famous spots in Bonifacio Global City, the High Street. Dreign parked his car on the side of the road and stepped out of the vehicle. With his face washed and his guns covered in cloth to avoid getting attention, Dreign walked among the crowds. His head wandered around as he saw expensive-looking restaurants with the aroma wafting in the air. This makes his stomach growl and demands food. As much as he wanted to satiate his hunger, he had no money in his pocket. It’s not like he can do the thing he did earlier to the grocery store where he threatened the store clerk with guns. It’s not like it will work here. So if he can’t get food, he’ll take water instead. He sat on one of the seats of a restaurant nearby. The waitress approached him and asked him what he wanted. Fortunately, Dreign’s face was not pitiable, considering him a true customer. “I just need water,” Dreign said. “Understood, if you’re ready to order, you can call for me. The name is Jane.” “Thank you, Jane.”
