Chapter 5~ A Night With the Gangsters

"You'll taste hell, Lee," 

Uh-oh.

Ngumiti ako sa kanila, yung ngiti na para bang hindi natatakot pero deep inside gusto ko nang tumakbo ng mabilis pero bwisit na paa, biglang sumakit.

"Good evening," bati ko sa kanila. Bastos ko naman siguro kung di ko sila babatiin diba? I'm not a rude person. Maybe magpapakabait ako ngayon to lessen my death sentence.

Sumenyas siya sa tatlo na sugurin ako, but walang gumalaw ni isa. Anyare? Sumugod na kayo oyy! Patayin niyo ulit ako! 

"Sounds gay to hurt a poor woman like me, isn't it?" sabi ko at ngumisi kay Ferrer. "Aren't you ashamed? You needed 3 of your guys to beat me, guess I'm too tough."

"She's the eavesdropper," the blonde guy stated ignoring what I just said. Urggh! I told you I'm not like that! Pero pwede na rin, di na nga lang ako aangal. Magpapaka-good girl ako sa ngayon. Wala akong laban sa kanila eh.

"Yes, the curious b***h who seeks for her own death," the demon answered. I rolled my eyes but never uttered anything.

"Renz, babae siya. We can't hurt her," the chinito guy said. Really, huh? Ba't nakaya niyong ipabugbog ako noon, aber? 

"Then how did you manage to hurt her before?" Ferrer asked them. None answered. Ayan! Siguro tinamaan na kayong lahat sa akin no? Haha! Ganda ko kasi!

"We thought he's a boy back then," sagot ng isa. I rolled my eyes. Sana hindi ko nalang sinuot ang hoodie ko noon edi sana hindi ko na sila na-encounter. Edi sana nagmukha akong babae at hindi lalaki. Pero hindi ba talaga nila nahalata sa katawan ko na babae ako? These guys are too stupid!

"She's a thief. You should punish her," sagot niya. The three stepped forward towards me. Hay! This is hell! Akala ko natamaan na sila sa akin pero wala pala epek beauty ko bes.

Before they could reach me someone grabbed my arm. Who the hell is this guy again? Tsaka makahila sa akin akala mo kung sinong close sa akin. Ba't maraming nagkalat na FC sa mundo? Paki-explain.

"She's not a thief, she was just taking the emergency exit, baka makita siya ng student council," I looked at him, si Kyle. Why is he doing this? Ba't palagi niya akong tinutulungan?

Student Council? I assumed sila yung mga tao kanina na nagche-check at naglilibot sa campus?

"I am one of them," pabalang na sagot ng blonde na guy. Siya pala yung kasama ni Kate! Siya ang lalaking musician dahil sa headphones niya.

"You know her?" the tall guy asked him. He stopped and whispered at me. Waaah! Ba't ang bango niya Lord? Nahiya tuloy akong lumapit sa kanya.

"Ano pangalan mo? Sabihin mo na para matapos na 'to," he asked. I thought about it for awhile. I can save myself, but I'm too tired to fight with them. Liar! Wala sa kondisyon ang katawan mo Sky. Saka, wala naman sigurong masama kung sasabihin ko ang pangalan ko diba?

"Skyler," I whispered to him. He nodded in satisfaction.

"She's Skyler," he answered them. The three guys looked at each other and they were like chatting using their eyes. They nodded and went towards me. Ano 'yon mga bes? Nababasa nila ang mga isip nila?

"We'll spare your life tonight," sabi ni Renzo. I was quite relieved, but I did not show it to them. "You're a lucky btch."

"Ulol," I said and rolled my eyes. Tinalikuran ko sila at humikab. Now I want my bed.

Sasagot na sana siya nang may narinig kaming mga yabag ng sapatos. Everyone became alert. Naging alerto rin ako pero di ko maiwasang mag-panic. Ayokong magkagulo ulit!

"Sht! The student council!" Kyle cussed. He pulled me at nagtago kami sa madilim na bahagi. Sumunod naman sila. Sa spot rin na ito ako nagtago kanina noong dumating rin ang Student Council.

"Sigurado akong may narinig ako ditong nag-uusap eh!" a girl said. She's familiar, I think she's Kate. Hayy, sila na naman? Tsaka grabe ang listening skills niya ah! Narinig niya talaga kami?

"Kate, baka nagha-hallucinate ka lang," a girl answered. That girl is right, nagha-hallucinate ka lang. Shabu pa, gurl.

"Kung bakit pa kasi ito ang naging punishment sa atin," sagot naman ng isa. Ano naman kaya ang nagawa nila at bakit sila pinaparusahan?

Suddenly biglang sumikip ang pinagtataguan namin particularly sa pwesto ko kaya nainis ako bigla. Inilayo ko sila palayo sa akin, more like tinulak. Iniipit na nila ako eh! I still have wounds and it really hurts!

"Sky! Wag ka ngang malikot," Kyle whispered to me. My ears became red with anger.

"Dmn it! Ang sikip!" I said irritatedly. Biglang tinakpan ni Ferrer ang bibig ko. Urghh! I'm really pissed! Naiinis na ako sa gang na ito ha!

"See? Meron talaga!" Kate exclaimed. I silently bite Ferrer's hand. He cussed loudly. Napakagat nalang ako sa labi because I know we're doomed.

"D-mn you!" he shouted. It's too late to cover his mouth dahil tinutukan na kami ng flashlight.

"Meron nga," Kate said and smirked. Lumabas ako sa pinagtaguan ko. Surprise was registered into Kate's innocent face as well as the two girls behind her. Is there something that can surprise them?

"What the hell! Ang sikip-sikip sa pinagtataguan ko and worst, Ferrer's hand was covering my mouth!" I exclaimed while glaring at Ferrer. 

"I have enough reasons to cover you mouth," kalmadong sabi ni Ferrer. I rolled my eyes. Ano sa tingin niya, gagawin ko lang ang mga bagay-bagay ng walang dahilan?

"And I have enough reasons to bite your hand," I replied. Hindi nalang siya sumagot dahil siguradong hindi na naman matatapos ang away namin.

"Did you just shouted at him like that?" Kate asked in disbelief. I looked at her. Bakit hindi sila makapaniwala na sinigawan ko ang demonyong 'yon? He even deserves a beating!

"Nakita mo diba?" I replied. She rolled her eyes at me.

"Whatever! As a punishment, the student council decided na hindi kayo makakapasok sa rooms niyo until 6 a.m," Kate said. I don't know if namamalikmata lang ako or not but I caught her looking at Ferrer apologetically. 

"Friends naman tayo eh, sige na. Let this one slide," the chinito guy said habang niyuyogyog si Kate. Sana gumana ang charm mo sa kanya para matapos na ito.

"No, humanap kayo ng diskarte because I won't let this pass," sagot ni Kate. Tumigil ang lalaki sa pangungulit sa kanya and now he's pouting. Fvck, is he even a gangster? Why is he acting like a childish person?

"Then ako na lang ang parusahan mo," I looked at Renzo in disbelief. Seryoso siya? I'll be guilty again. Ako ang may kasalanan. Kung hindi sana ako naging careless edi sana nasa dreamland na ako.

"Don't listen to him Ms. Officer, this is my fault. Nadamay lang sila," I said and looked at her. Kumunot naman ang noo ni Kate sa aming dalawa ni Ferrer.

"No! This is my fault," Ferrer insisted. I glared at him. Bakit hindi nalang siya sumang-ayon? That would be easier!

"Shut up Ferrer! I don't want to be indebted to someone so let me do this as a payment!" I shouted at him. He looked at me with his death glare. Pero hindi ako nagpatinag because I am determined to do what I decided to do.

"Kayong lahat ang mapaparusahan to be fair!" Kate said then walked away. Tinawag pa siya ng ilang beses ni chinito-guy pero hindi na siya lumingon muli sa amin.

"Ano nga ulit ang punishment?" Kyle asked the boy na mukhang masungit. It took several seconds before the guy responded to Kyle.

"Di raw tayo makakapasok sa rooms natin," he answered. I laughed. Parusa ba yun? She's so funny! Kung narealize ko lang sana kanina pa edi sana hinayaan nalang naming ang babaeng yun na pumunta.

"Hey eavesdropper! Why are you laughing?" tanong ni chinito guy. Instead of answering him, I looked at Kyle. Parang na-gets naman niya ang pinapahiwatig ko sa isang tingin lang.

"Shall we take the entrance I just discovered?" I said and took a glance at the veranda. I smirked at everyone.

"That's good. Eavesdropper should be the first one to climb," sabi ni Ferrer. Umiling ako.

"You can do it by yourselves. I need to think of a strategy to get in my room first," I said. Ayoko nang bumalik sa kwarto nila, baka mamaya ibang gulo na naman ang magaganap.

Tatalikod na sana ako nang bigla akong hilahin ng demonyo. I glared at him pero wala epek sa kanya ang glare ko mga bes.

"I guess pwede kang matulog sa amin. Maraming nakabantay sa harap ng dorm niyo, there's no way in. Unlike sa dorm namin, may balcony," he said. Demonyo ba siya sa lagay niyang yan? Tsaka, don't tell me he wants me to stay in their room?

Baka mamaya may gagawin pala siya sa akin? Maybe he would stab me while I'm sleeping? Or kill me by injecting something? Waaah! Kalma Sky, you are already exaggerating. Walang mangyayari kapag hindi ka sa kanila mags-stay, tama?

"I can do it," I said and pulled my hands from him. Please lang, huwag ka ng umangal para gumaan naman ang buhay ko. Sige na!

"You can do that. But I'll call the student council at sasabihan ko sila that taking the way up to the balcony was all your idea at napilitan lang kaming sundin ka because you blackmailed us," he threatened me. He took his phone from his pocket and began dialing. My eyes widen. S-Seryoso ba siya? Siya nga ang namba-blackmail eh!

"Damn you!" I shouted. Remind me to kill him tonight! Yung slowly but painfully para di niya makalimutan pagdating niya sa impyerno!

Inis kong hinablot ang tali at inakyat ang boy's dorm. Nakaramdam ako ng hapdi at kirot sa paa at sa likod ko pero binalewala ko nalang para matapos na ang lahat.

Sumunod naman sila. I was amazed because they did it within a span of seconds. Kung sabagay, they are gangsters so I assume they do all sorts of things.

"Tell me, are you some sort of an akyat-bahay gangster?" the chinito guy asked me. Sa kanilang lima, I find him and Kyle friendly though hindi ko masyadong feel ang pagiging gangster ni  chinito guy. Kahit friendly si Kyle in my point of view, he still have that gangster aura.

"You'll know how to sneak in when you have a strict dad and you are a party-goer who comes home late," I answered. He chuckled.

"I'm Ivan by the way," sabi niya at inabutan ako ng lollipop. Nagtataka naman akong kinuha iyon.

"What's with the lollipop?" I asked.

"It's a sign of friendship, friends na tayo!" he said. I rolled my eyes at ibinalik sa kaniya ang lollipop.

"Doesn't mean that I'm staying with you guys tonight we're already friends," sabi ko at pumasok sa loob ng kwarto. Now, what am I supposed to do? I don't feel comfortable being with strangers and worse, gangsters.

Several seconds saka sila pumasok sa loob. Their eyes widen nang makita nila ang nasa loob. Ferrer's face flushed red with anger. Ano na naman ba ang nakita nila? May multo ba or may nakapasok sa loob except me?

"Who did this?!" sigaw niya habang pinupulot ang nagkalat na damit at gamit sa sahig. I gulped. Patay ako ngayon, sabi na nga ba sana tumakas nalang ako kanina.

Aaminin ko na sana nang biglang tinaas ni Kyle ang kamay niya. My eyes widen as I stare at Kyle. He took a glance at me and smiled at my direction.

"I did," sabi niya habang pinupulot ang mga gamit. Napasapol nalang ako sa noo. Why is he doing this? He's making me feel guilty.

"But Kyle---" he cut me off.

"Nakita mo ako diba? Hinahanap ko kasi ang brief ko," he said at nagkamot ng ulo. I sighed. Ano pa nga bang magagawa ko? He already lied to everyone just to cover me. Seriously, I hate this guy.

"Seriously? Kailangan mo pang magkalat para makita ang brief mo? Hindi ka naman ganyan ah!" Ivan said to Kyle. Tinulungan ko si Kyle na pulutin ang mga nagkalat sa sahig.

"Kyle, hindi mo na kailangang gawin to," I whispered to him while picking the things. He looked at me and smiled in assurance.

"I know. But I insist," sabi niya at ngumiti for assurance. Ngayon ko lang na-appreciate ang features ng face niya. Perfect nose, brown eyes, kissable lips. Broad muscles and a clean-cut hair. 

"Lee, you'll sleep in the couch," Ferrer said while pointing at the black couch. Kahit na masakit ang likod at katawan ko, I nodded. Kaysa naman sa maging choosy diba? This would be another trouble if I argue with him.

"No! Sa kama ko siya matutulog. I'll sleep in the couch," Kyle said. I glared at him. Nagi-guilty na naman ako. Stop doing this!

"Kyle----"

"Gusto kong matulog sa couch. Don't ever think that I'm doing this for you," sabi niya. Narinig kong tumawa si Ivan. I rolled my eyes. Oo nga naman, he's not a gentleman either. Nakaya niya akong ipabugbog noon. Am I assuming?

"How can you assure me that you won't harm me while I'm sleeping?" tanong ko sa kanila. Napalingon naman sila sa akin. "I just feel uncomfortable sleeping with strangers."

"You are not that pretty unlike our w****s so don't worry, we're not going to undress you," sabi ni Ferrer. I glared at him but never uttered a word. "But if you think we're strangers, we can tell our names. You already know me."

"Ako si Ivan!" the chinito guy cheerfully answered. He jumped on his bed na nasa harapan ko.

"Brent," sabi ng masungit na lalaki na nasa gilid ko. Hindi naman siguro halatang hindi siya masyadong friendly, right?

"Grey," sabi ng lalaking may headphones. Siya 'yong member ng Student Council.

"I'm Kyle," sabi ni Kyle na nasa right side ko. He smiled at me. "Nice meeting you."

"I'm Skyler Lee," sabi ko. I was definitely lying.
