************************************Macklin********************************
I didnt talk the whole car ride. Maddison did enough for everyone, but The Girl never shut up. I could feel myself getting nervous the longer the ride went on,
"Now remember, Macklin, do not do anything to embarrass us," My mother grits out,
"Yes, Luna," I say, I know I would get a good slap upside my head for not addressing her by her title,
"Yeah, Macky, dont walk into any walls," Maddison snorts, making them all laugh,
"Enough!" My father yells at them. I thought he was defending me for a moment, but to my surprise, "We are here. Now remember, do not do anything to cause us attention,"
"Yes, Father," "Yes, Alpha,"
I feel the car come to a stop, and I hear the sound of the door opening, and I feel them all start to pile out. Feeling the seat with my hand, I slowly slide over, touching the door jam, when someone grabbed my hand,
"Come along, Macklin," My father's voice was stern. Stepping out, I smoothed my dress down with one hand as my father never let go of my hand. He placed my hand in the crook of his elbow, and I froze, my body tensing up. He never does this,
I felt him lean closer,
"I do not want you falling and making us look bad; I will escort you inside and put you at a table where you will stay for the remainder of the event. Do you understand me?"
Nodding my head, "Yes, Alpha,"
"Do not call me that here. You will address me as Father for the evening, "
"I understand, Father." The words tasted so foreign in my tongue. It had been years since I'd called him that, but he needed to make it look good for them here. He Could not let them know how they really treated me,
He started to walk. I was surprised he walked more slowly than expected,
"There are three steps ahead. I will tell you when we reach the first step,"
Nodding my head, I felt his steps slow down a bit, "Step," His voice was so low. Feeling with my foot, I found it, then the next and the next,
I moved along with my father as he led me inside. I could tell how the air changed once we stepped in the door. It smelled stuffy, mixed with so many different scents that I wanted to cringe. My wolf even pulled back in my head to try and get away from the smells,
"Ah, Alpha Roman, It's a pleasure to see you again,"
A male voice that held authority in it caused my father to stop,
"King Weston, It a pleasure to be here." My father's voice was pleasant sounding, which he never sounds like that, but again, have to look good,
I sucked in a breath. The king was standing here with us,
"Who is this lovely lady?"
I heard someone snot behind, "Lovely, ha," Maddison grumbled,
"This is my youngest daughter, Macklin," I felt him pull my hand forward as someone took it, startling me a bit,
"Im sorry, my dear. I didnt mean to scare you. It's a pleasure to meet you; you haven't been to any of these events, have you?"
Clearing my throat, "It's okay, My King, It a pleasure to meet you as well,"
He squeezed my hand gently, then let go, "I hate to ask Ms Macklin, but I see you bear a nasty scar on your eyes. Are you able to see?'
I felt my father's hand tighten on mine. He hates to hear how I cant see, and if I say yes, then the Kings are going to ask how I got the scars,
"No, My King, I can not see,"
"How did you end up with such a scar on that pretty face of yours, "
Again, there was a snort behind me as someone kicked my leg. I knew it was Colton,
"It was a rogue attack, King Weston. She had wandered out too far on pack lands, and a rogue broke through our patrol lines," My father tells him,
"Ah, such a same. Was the rogue dealt with?"
"Yes, King Weston he was,"
I know that's a lie. He never found the rogue that killed P and took my sight, But he is not about to tell the king that My father introduced him to everyone. Once he met them, we began walking again,
"Can you believe he called her lovely and pretty? I think he needs to have his eyes checked," Maddison says as they walk behind us,
"He was just being polite, right Dad," This time, Colton speaks,
"Im sure he was. As King, he has a certain level of kindness to show towards his people. and calling out the ugly ones dont look good for him," My father says as we walk, making them all chuckle even my mother,
Ouch, that hurt a little. I know im not their favorite, but they could act as if I can hear, Im blind not deaf,
The noise got louder as we entered another room. My father pulled me along with him, Not stopping till I heard a chair scraping against the floor,
"Sit here," His hand on my shoulder pushed me to sit. I almost missed the chair with how hard he pushed on me, and I didnt get a chance to feel where the chair was,
"Now, you are not to move from this spot. Do you understand me," My father says close to my ear, his hot breath on my neck,
"Yes, Alpha," I whispered, knowing the act was over. No one was going to hear me,
I listened to their footsteps moving away; letting out a sigh, I leaned back; at least I did not have to listen to their harsh words anymore. I would rather sit alone than with them,
I wasnt sure how much time had passed. I sat there listening to people talk and music playing. I would tap my feet or my fingers to the beat,
At one point the room got super quiet, but only for a moment. Then, everyone started talking and laughing,
Some people, primarily girls, had a few things to say as they walked by, like how sad it was to make people look at something so horrible as me, or they should have left me out back where i belonged,
All I did was keep my head down,
'You have heard worst, Macklin,' I told myself.
A chair moving next to me caused me to jump a bit, and then a laugh followed. Of course, it would be Colton,
"You are such a waste. You cant see, cant even tell when someone is next to you. You are a weak link in the pack. I dont know why Dad and Mom kept you around. They should have sent you away or killed you the minute you lost your sight. You have nothing to offer the pack,"
I could smell the alcohol on his breath,
Tears threatened to build, but I pushed them back, "Be careful Colton; you wouldn't want anyone to see you talking to such a person, now would you,"
He scoffed as I felt him lean closer,
"It shows I pity someone of less stature than myself. They know nothing about you. I have been to these things a thousand times, but you," He made a tsk sound. "But dont worry, this will be your first and your last time,"
"What are you talking about, Colton?" God, why cant he leave me alone,
"It means that as soon as Father hands me the title of Alpha, you are the first person I will be banished from the pack. You are weak and will only cause us downfall,"
Shoving him away from me, he laughed, standing and walking away,
Grabbing my clutch, I dug out my walking stick. Thankfully, Mrs. Gracce had me fold it down and put it in there; getting up, I made my way through the room, not caring if I bumped into anyone. I just needed to get out of this place,
To my surprise, I found myself outside. I walked down a stone path, and The smell of flowers filled the air. Following it, the smell was getting stronger. I must be near a garden; bumping something metal, I reached out, feeling its coolness in my hand. It was a bench; sitting down, I let the tears fall. How could he be so cruel to me,
Maybe I should leave. I have money saved up that my family dont know about. Mrs Grace set me up an account a few years ago,
A crunching sound made me snap my head up,
"Hello"
Nothing. Then a wonderful smell hit my nose: Blueberry,
I looked around when I heard a small grunt,
" Is Someone there."
The blueberry was still there. I could hear someone breathing. My wolf suddenly started to pace in my head.
"Look, I know someone is there,"
I heard footsteps.
"Hello there,"
