XVII. Forbidden Love

2782 Words
"There is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable." Mark Twain. "My dear friend, you do not know how dark my days are without seeing your smile and listening to your jokes. I wish I could see you again. Everything changed because of Adalis, it reminded me of what you told me about the past and I cannot help thinking that it is not fair. I want all of us to be together and happy, so during these days I kept thinking and ended up with an idea; I was told that the light emanating from my hair is deadly to the Dark Creatures, so I thought maybe you could use it to create a potion. I put a few strands inside the folded paper. I hope I can be helpful. Thank you my friend." Hoseok shook his head with a smile. He put the letter on the desk and opened the folded paper to find a few strands of his diamond hair. He gently touched them with his fingers and closed his eyes when he felt his body relax. Jimin's hair always had that power to make you feel better. "What is it?" Namjoon sat next to him. The Wizard opened his eyes and looked at his lover. He still couldn't believe he refused to accompany Jin to Rosa, skipping the opportunity to meet other healers and perhaps even become an instructor. "Jimin sent a letter." he answered. "Is he doing alright?" "I doubt he is." Hoseok sighed. "Being separated from the King surely broke his heart." "No one likes to be away from the one he loves." the Elf said, staring directly into the Wizard's purple eyes. "It's a torture." Hoseok gulped. He knew that the words he said were meant for him. "Hoseok." Namjoon said with a soft voice. "I am sorry." The Wizard frowned, "For what?" The Elf ran his fingers though his long silver hair, "You know I am really bad with words... There are many things I wanted to tell you but did not have enough courage..." "Things like what?" Hoseok pressed his lips and looked at Namjoon's nervous face. He saw him taking a breath before staring at his eyes again. "Things like...I am deeply and sincerely in love with you." the blue-eyed said, his cheeks turning red. Hoseok could hear his heart beat insanely fast. His eyes grew wider as Namjoon took his head and gently kissed the back of it. Tears started falling and a smile formed on his face. He stared at Namjoon's eyes and cupped his cheeks, "You don't know how much I have been waiting to hear this from you." he whispered. The healer smiled and put his arms around him, embracing him for a long time, taking advantage of the silence in the room. They parted and Namjoon saw the shiny strands on the paper, "This is his hair, right?" he asked. Hoseok nodded, "He thought about a plan, he wants me to use his hair to make a potion." "And give it to our soldiers?" "Yes." The Elf rubbed his chin, "Will you be able to make this potion?" "It is not about the potion." the Wizard crossed his arms. "I doubt this plan will work. The Dark Creatures are very strong, and yes it is true that Jimin's hair is powerful, but it is not enough to beat them all. Adalis can create a thousand more of them and you know how tragic our end will be." Namjoon sighed and kept staring at the envelope. He thought about their friend who must be suffering from loneliness. He knew how his cousin might be very possessive when it comes to someone he adores, especially after what happened to his sister. He would leave Jimin at home and let him go out only if he's accompanied. "What if it works?" he broke the silence. "Huh?" Hoseok raised an eyebrow. The healer turned his head to stare at him, "What if using Jimin's hair really destroys Adalis and his creatures?" "Namjoon..." "I am serious." the healer said. "We cannot spend our whole existence fearing him. He has no right to deprive us from our happiness, not only ours but the King's especially. He lived the worst days of his life after Kythaela's death, five years after he finally met someone who brought his smile back, how can he ruin it again?!" It broke Hoseok's heart to see his lover angry because it rarely happened. "There is only one death Hoseok." the Elf continued. "If we believe in Jimin and work hard, I bet this plan will work perfectly." The Wizard couldn't say anything. He wanted to stop Adalis as much as his lover wanted to, he was eager to see all his friends happy as they were again, but at the same time he was afraid everything will go wrong. The silver-haired interrupted his thoughts by holding his hand, his skin was soft and cold, making the Wizard wonder how he can warm it up for him. "Let's believe in this." Namjoon whispered. "Let's do this together." Hoseok stared at his lover for a moment before nodding with a smile, "You are right, we should believe." "Good." the Elf smiled back, "Send a letter back to Jimin, tell him we are agreeing to his plan."
