CHAPTER 7

“YOUR MAJESTY, the council were complaining because Prince Maverick left the palace again.” Kamdem, the Beta of Golden Summit Pack. Marcus lifted his hand and started signing the papers on his table. “Complaining again?” “They wanted Prince Maverick to settle down his marriage.” Marcus could only shake his head. “If my queen heard them, she would surely tear down their houses. The werewolf council is really asking for trouble. Just let them complain. If Emilia gets pissed, I don’t know what will happen to them.” Kamdem grimaced. He knew how scary the Queen of Werewolves was. The Queen was kind and gentle, but when she got mad, she could tear down the whole palace. The Werewolf Council were kinda afraid of the Queen, and they didn’t dare to stand in her way. That’s why they couldn’t force Prince Maverick at will to marry the daughter of Alpha Alonzo. “Anyway, where’s your son?” Marcus asked as he read the contents of the paper in his hand. “He was with Connor and Adriel, Your Majesty. They were patrolling at the border.” Connor is the Gamma’s son, while Adriel is the Delta’s son. Kayden is his son. Those kids have been close to each other since they were born. And they are the next generation after them. They will inherit the positions of their father after the future king, who was Prince Maverick, ascends to the throne. “Those kids are really hardworking. They never slack off,” said Marcus. He looked at his Beta. “When they come back, tell them to pack and follow Prince Maverick.” “Your Majesty?” Kamdem was surprised. “I want them to be trained outside the pack just like Maverick. I want them to see the life outside the pack. If they only stayed inside, they wouldn’t learn anything.” Kamdem bowed. “I’ll tell them, Your Majesty.” “I also want them to be closer to Maverick. I know my son. He was capable, but without the help of his friends, his foundation in the council as the king wouldn’t be stable. Just like us before, I want our sons to form a bond. In the future, they could rely on each other,” Marcus said. Kamdem had a small smile on his lips. “Your Majesty, they will be happy once they hear this. Those kids really wanted to be with Prince Maverick. Prince Maverick is older than my son, and he looked at Prince Maverick as his older brother.” Marcus smiled. “That’s good. You should go and inform them.” Kamdem bowed his head and left the king’s office. When Kamdem left his office, Marcus let out a sigh. He knew his son would complain, but he only wanted him to be closer to his future Beta, Gamma, and Delta. Later, King Marcus was stunned when he felt something happening in the Ancestral Wing. He quickly stopped what he was doing and went to the Ancestral Wing of the palace. Arriving at the door of the Ancestral Wing, he saw that the barrier was intact. Nothing happened. He waved his hand and the barrier was split down the middle. Marcus entered the Ancestral Wing and when he entered, he saw the Legendary Golden Bow glowing. The Legendary Golden Bow had been located in the Ancestral Wing for three hundred years. It was bestowed on the Ancestor Queen of werewolves on her wedding day. And it has been passed down from generation to generation until it was passed to him to safeguard it. The Legendary Golden Bow belonged to the princess of the Silver-White Wolf Clan. The most powerful clan of werewolves who disappeared centuries ago. They were hunted by hunters and, since the Princess and her lover died centuries ago, the silver-white wolf clan have disappeared. Since then, no Silver-White Wolf has appeared. Now, the Legendary Golden Bow was glowing. What does this mean? Marcus was confused. Since he became the king of the werewolves, it was the first time that the Legendary Golden Bow glowed like this. Does this mean that there will be a new master that could tame the Legendary Golden Bow? He had read some books regarding the Legendary Golden Bow. The bow needs to be tame, but it depends on the person. The bow is not easy to tame even if you are powerful. If you’re not from the Silver-White Wolf Clan, it’s useless. The Legendary Golden Bow is an ancient weapon that was with the Silver-White Wolf Clan, not until they disappeared. The Legendary Golden Bow continued glowing as if it was calling its master. Marcus stared at the bow for a while before he left the Ancestral Wing. When he returned to his own office, his brother, Prince Simon, was there and seemed to be waiting for him. “Simon, what are you doing here?” Simon smiled at seeing his brother. “I came to see you.” “Is there a problem?” Marcus asked and sat on his swivel chair. “Does it need to be a problem for me to see you?” Simon retaliated back. Marcus shook his head. “I was just surprised to see you in the palace. You never come here unless I summon you.” He glanced at Simon. “Suit yourself.” Simon smiled and sat in the chair in front of his brother. Then he noticed his brother’s expression. “You looked confused, brother. Was it because of your eldest son?” “No.” “Then why do you feel like you’re confused? I heard that the council wanted him to marry the daughter of Alpha Alonzo even though they are not mates,” said Simon. Marcus sighed. “I went to the Ancestral Wing. I think there will be changes from now on.” “What do you mean?” Simon asked. What changes is he talking about? “The legendary golden bow was glowing as if it was calling its owner. I think that there is still a Silver-White Wolf alive,” Marcus said and sighed. “The only person who could tame and summon the Legendary Golden Bow is from the Silver-White Wolf Clan.” “Impossible, Marcus. The Silver-White Wolf Clan had already disappeared centuries ago. Their clan was hunted by hunters, and no one escaped, including Princess Ayesha and her human mate. They were brutally killed in that battle against the hunters,” said Simon. He didn’t believe that some Silver-White Wolf Clan. It was written in a historical book, every detail of the tragedy that had happened to the Silver-White Wolf Clan. Marcus leaned on his chair. “Yes, no one survived in that battle. But what if Princess Ayesha has other options to come back and avenge her people? Simon, Princess Ayesha from the Silver-White Wolf Clan is an ancient werewolf who secluded herself from the world. She was a knowledgeable and powerful werewolf.” Simon let out an unbelievable laugh. “Marcus, a dead person cannot come back to life. Her human mate died in that battle too. It’s useless to live without your mate,” he said, with no emotion in his voice. He stood up from his seat and bowed to the king. “I have something to do, Your Majesty. I shall take my leave now.” Marcus nodded his head and he looked at his brother, then just sighed. It was true that it was useless to live without your mate. Simon’s mate was killed by a rogue a few years ago and his brother was devastated. Meanwhile, Simon had a plan in mind. If there are still silver-white wolves alive, then there would be a chance that his mate will be revived. This time, he would find the silver-white wolf. Whatever it takes, he will risk everything for his mate. And then, when he’s strong enough, his plan centuries ago to usurp the throne can be fulfilled.
